The Godfather Part II juxtaposes two stories: Michael Corleone’s journey after he became the Don and Vito Corleone’s past times (portrayed by Robert De Niro). Since this research only uses Michael’s dialogues, the writer decided to leave out Vito’s story and focuses only in Michael’s story plot. Set in the 1950s, Michael now stays in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. The scene opens with party held in Michael’s house to celebrate the communion of his son, Anthony. Inside the house, he conducts business with Nevada Senator, Pat Geary, who bluntly express his hatred towards Michael and intend to blackmails him. The second meeting is with a man named Johnny Ola, Hyman Roth’s messenger man, who sends word for the hope of future partnership with Michael. The …show more content…

Unfortunately, Fredo has slip of the tongue moment where he accidentally reveals that he knows Roth and Ola. Cut to at The Cuban presidential palace, Michael celebrates the New Year, Michael orders Ola’s and Roth’s death, although, unlucky to Michael, Roth’s is not dead. At the party, Michael tells Fredo he knows that he is the traitor. Michael flees to New York in a chaotic Havana. The rebels, led by Fidel Castro, take over the city and the Cuban president resigns. Back to Nevada, Tom tells Michael that Roth is still alive and that Kay had a miscarriage. When Michael testifies before Congress, he denies ever participating in any illicit activities. Pentangeli is still alive and he is going to testify against Michael. Michael tells Fredo that he is nothing to him and that he never wants to see Fredo again. The next congressional hearings, Michael brings along Pentangeli’s brother. Cut to the hotel room after the hearing ends, Kay reveals that she didn’t have a miscarriage, but an abortion. Michael felt betrayed and at rage, he punches Kay in the face. At Mama Corleone’s funeral, Connie said she forgives Michael and try to remind Michael to forgive Fredo too.
