Introduction
Oprah Winfrey Show is a popular American talk show that brought together celebrities discussing different inspirational topics about women in the society. It is rated as among the most watched shows in the United States. The main objective of this daytime show was to empower women in the US and the worlds at large. We are immersed from cradle to grave in a media and society and we should understand that how to interpret or understand it (Kellner, n.d.).

In her shows, she has made a numerous statement on violence against black women and in one incidence she was quoted making comments against gender-based violence “I hear all the time from black women who say, ‘well, he slapped me around a few times but he doesn’t really beat me.” (Oprah Winfrey, quoted 1997, 68.).

She has highlighted on how the second wave of feminism has been criticized for being too liberal. Women in the marginalized communities practicing marginalized cultures have been left out in this wave.

Oprah Winfrey in her shows brings about several aspects of culture. It addressed women with different cultural backgrounds characterized by different cultural values. Being a black woman, she has done many campaigns to support the women of backward areas.
Opinion about Oprah Winfrey
She is the most influencing black woman who has presented a real inspirational life in front of people. She started from zero and faced a lot of criticism and discouragement, even from her family. But she continues to work and became the one of the richest Africa American Women. She has laughed in the face and policies of racism and prejudice. Though she is a black woman, her achievements are more than any man of any color. She proves herself being a perfect role model for any woman from any part of the world. References
