On the day May 19, 1870 in Washington D.C., into a family with respect but the family had a history of mental illness and alcoholism. Fish’s mom was a single mom, she could not able to support him. Went to a foster home and had a rough time in there and tried to escape but did not happen. Through the course of Albert Fish’s life, he demonstrates the qualities of a human monster through his murderous assaults on innocent children, thus proving that human monsters are more terrifying than the fictional monsters. Fish’s mom came to get him out of the foster home because she got a better job and support him. Albert Fish was an only child to Mr and Mrs fish, his mom was a single mom when he was 5 years old. His parents reported him missing after he did not come home from their neighbor’s house. McDonnell was playing catch with his friend before he was kidnapped. The Police ask the little kid next door who took him, he tells them an elderly guy with a gray mustache took him. They put him down as “The Grey Man”. Francis’s friend saw them walking into the woods, that 's the last time anyone saw him alive. Fish raped and hung him from his suspenders on a tree in the woods. That’s where they found him, all beaten up. Then after everything was taking care of the police, started look for “The Grey Man”, even when he was not around to be found. They did not find out, who killed him until they arrested him for the murder of Gracie Budd. Which was 1928, when they figure out who the person was for all three boys and girls. They took four years to find him and arrested him. He went to jail and he told the guards that he could not sit down because he had nails in him, in size, one inch to a half an inch. Billy Gaffney, was a 4 year old boy. Billy and his friend Billy Beaton that 3 years old and his 12 year old brother, were playing in the apartment hallway in Brooklyn. Fish took Gaffney and Beaton but Beaton was found later that night on the roof of the apartments. Gaffney was not found anywhere around the apartments. When they asked Beaton who took Gaffney, he told them that “The Bogeyman took him” (Infohio page 2). They thought the serial killer Peter Kudzinowski took Gaffney and Beaton. They showed him a picture of Fish, he identified it as Fish. Gaffney was never found but Fish sent his mother, Elizabeth Gaffney a letter telling her what he did with him. Told her that he that he ate him and tried to eat his ears, pee wees but he could not eat them, he flushed them down the toilet because he could not chew them. He tried to make stew out of them. According to Fish, “His monkey and pee wees and a nice little fat behind to roast in the oven and eat” ( Albert Fish Documentary). Fish explains what he did with his monkey and pee wees. Elizabeth Gaffney went to visit Fish when he was in Sing Sing, the prison. She asks him why he killed her son. He did not answer her, he just turned around and started crying.
