This journal article was written by Jakob Braun and Mohammadali Zolfagharian. This research study measures student behaviors and satisfaction about academic advising. This study provides a brief overview of some of the concepts that I want to focus on my capstone research study.
Braun and Zolfagharian stated that most students are not satisfied with career services and academic advising programs. The influence Of Mentorship: A Study on How Academic Advising can Facilitate a Positive College Experience.
This journal article written by Timothy LeBel discusses how academic advising creates a positive academic student experience. A group of students from different academic majors were interviewed and participated in a survey questionnaire. The findings demonstrated future recommendations that academic advising programs need to improve on in order to provide successful services to students. This study can be used as a reference because it outlines some of the ideas that I want to focus on my research project. According to LeBel academic advising should provide students a chance to focus on their academic and personal goals exploring a variety of career pathways (LeBel, 2016). Using this information I can investigate and see what additional resources does the center for advising, career and student success provides to students.
