Baseball has been around for many years. It is one of the greatest sports of all time. It is very popular, people across the world play the sport. Baseball has been around longer than most of the sports that are around today. The MLB has been around for over one hundred years. There are a lot of rules and ways to get better at baseball. Baseball was invented in America in 185. But even before that, as early as the 1600s, people in England played a similar game called rounders. You may have heard a man named Abner Doubleday, he invented baseball in Cooperstown, New York, during the summer of 1839. Doubleday then went on to become a civil war hero, while baseball became America's beloved national pastime. Baseball became an organized sport in the 1840s and the 1850s. An opposing batter attempts to hit the pitches and safely reach base, while the fielders attempt to put the batter out through various plays. Baseball has homegrown roots here in America. Starting in 1839 it instantly became a phenomenon that still captures American hearts and attention spans today. The Japanese created their own league called the Nippon Professional Baseball in 1920. Though they borrowed the idea and sport, there are key differences in how the game is played on the tiny island nation. In true Japanese fashion, they took an idea making innovations and improvements to create something resembling the past but yet having differences to stand on its own.

To score a run a player on the offense attempts to hit a small special white ball that the pitcher throws to him. If he hits the play in the filed of play he can attempt to run to a base. If the player reaches the base before the defense can get the ball there or tag him with the ball he will be safe. There are four square bases and are lined up in a diamond. The player starts from the home plate, he has to round the bases to score a run.
