Introduction According to Brown, C.V., Dehayes, D.W., Hoffer, J.A., Perkins, W.C., Martin, W.E. (2011), MidSouth Chamber of Commerce (MSCC) is a member support, non-profit organization that deals with state government on behalf of local business policies. In the early 2000’s, the MSCC, became the most powerful advocacy organization for the business community under the new leadership of President Jack Wallingford. As the growing demands of members and employees were increasing, the MidSouth Chamber of Commerce (MSCC) has decided to update its computing systems. The management then decided to consolidate their systems to AS/400 based system called UNITRAK. Ted Vassici has supported the systems for a significant period before Simon Kovecki was hired by MidSouth Chamber of Commerce (MSCC). Simon Kovecki was in charge of implementing this new system, but he ended up with failure that left MidSouth Chamber of Commerce (MSCC) with lost data on the old systems, and an inoperable UNITRAK system. Conclusion MidSouth Chamber of Commerce is an organization that rely heavily on their information systems. Lassiter, Hedges and Kovecki who has no information technology background were taken into computing operations. Introducing a new system is not an easy task until an organization has senior IT professionals and backup plans. In the end, it was the lack of proper management and lacked intimate knowledge of information systems made them depend on outside persons to make decisions that caused all these problems.
As a CEO I would want my company to be up to date in all aspects of technology so that we aren’t left behind. It seems that Atkins, the CFO, may have an old school way of thinking and wants to leave things as they are in working order. Atkins has the best interest of the company but will need to rethink certain things and accept that technology is a way of the future, and will not be going away. Vargo needs to identify that Devereaux is a risk taker, even at the expense of the company. Peterson, the Vice President of property and casualty, has said that the underwriters think that there’s too much judgment involved with their job, so the expert systems may not cut. The employees saying this may be valid reasoning, or a plea to keep from losing their jobs to artificial intelligence. More testing will be needed before the expert systems is fully in place.

The importance of a state of the art Management Information System cannot be overlooked. The system will not only allow management to better understand their department's contributions but also allow them to take the appropriate actions necessary to meet customer needs. The proposed system will ensure that Riordan Manufacturing, Inc. not only meets but consistently exceed its strategic and tactical goals within the global business community.
Restructure the company and clearly define job responsibilities. This would result in a more efficient operation within and between departments and ensure that people know exactly who is responsible for what tasks. This would also reduce the need for Mr. Wallace to get involved in settling disputes and improve the overall moral among the managers.
Riordan Manufacturing will more than recover the expenditures of this IT project within two years of the upgrade. Riordan will experience an increase in sales and a decrease in inventory loss due to accurate and low-cost inventory management. On-going costs will be minimized with an internal IT department handling support and maintenance of the new system. All of the project's objectives have been met, and Riordan's expectations have been fulfilled.

Being user friendly, the IS analysts thought that user compliance would boost the usage of the product. Much to the IS analyst’s dismay, surveys concluded that the program had small differences with usage. This problem was due to the socio-economic factors within the company which caused the sales representatives chosen to operate the system to shun the system. These excuses were due to disincentives such a lack pay bonus or reward for using the system, and being obtrusive toward their responsibilities. As sales representatives, they made excuses such as the system being “dirty work” for the manufacturers. As technology advances so should the products and services provided by companies. In every industry, technology is becoming the key success factor to growth and profit. The ability to communicate with people all around the world has created a new marketplace for business. In order to remain competitive, it is important for companies to utilize the most current technology. At ABC Inc., the use of the latest technological tools allows the company to provide first-rate, quality architectural engineering services to its clients. As part of the company's strategic goal to increase profits and clients, the board of directors established an information technology steering committee to look at how the company could improve its' technology. The committee was tasked to make sure the company had the latest available industry computer tools and to make sure all employees were uniform in terms of the technology. One of the most important findings of the committee's research was the fact that the company and its branches were using varying types of software and hardware systems. The findings also showed that this lack of uniformity caused numerous communication problems not only with the branches and corporate offices, but also the clientele. These findings were reported to senior management. Based on the findings, recently, senior management made the decision to ensure all employees, branch offices and corporate office were working on the same software and hardware systems. Management decided to move the entire company to a Windows NT environment, in order to improve productivity, to create uniformity, to create a more functional network infrastructure and to develop an Intranet and Internet web sites.
