One of the major basis of racism is the physical appearance of a person that trends to be a discrimination in the society. Not only the physical aspects are being judged but also the culture, tradition and practices are been after for. In racism, it is always viewed as the barrier between the black and white in terms of who is being more civilized. The perception of the majority is that if you are black, you are in a low level but if you are white then you are of higher rank than that of the other (Fredrickson, 1934). Racism in the U.S. Foreign Policy is evident; supposedly it aims to serve and create a bridge between different races of international community for democratic, secure, and thriving world. The concept of racism is said to originate during the past 500 – 1000 years. It started when the Non-Westerners were dominated by the Western powers that had bigger impact on history; an example would be the slavery started by the Westerners in which Africans were enslaved. The root cause was the racist belief that Black Africans were less fully humans than the white Europeans and their descendants. Racism has existed throughout human history up to this date. It was able to influence wars, slavery, and the division and formation of different nations. The researchers suggest that the whites must acknowledge the worth of the blacks and forget what happened to colonialism because it is all where it started. A belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race. 2. Racial prejudice or discrimination.’ Racism exists among all races and ethnicities, but most prominently between whites and blacks. The most basic cause of racism begins with the idea that there is something different between different ethnicities. Though that thought is illogical, it is one that seems inevitable. The amount of hatred one can hold against another because of the difference in their skin pigmentation is uncanny. There are an uncountable amount of sources on racism to be found just by merely looking on the internet. In The Bluest Eye, a novel written by Toni Morrison, alone one can find a series amount of racist comments and “ways of thinking”, but beyond that racism can be found in poems, films, and everyday life.
For centuries, racism has become the universal epitome of culture, despite the efforts of various civilizations, such as the Western and European to combat these indifferences among people. A race is specific social group that can be differentiated through various ways, from facial features and hair textures, to social norms and habits that constitutes to that group. These differences contribute to our uniqueness and humanity. Because people can be grouped by any number of differences, Man, lead by his ignorance, perpetuated the issue once social-hierarchies began to develop, splitting society to its various groups. As a result, social disparity from one’s upbringing became the common tendency to look down, or look up at people of other cultures, skin-colors, or nationalities. Discrimination and unjust social practices affect humanity today.

Individuals and nations that have that tag associated with them have often found themselves on the receiving end of ridicule and condemnation for their blatant acts that denied sections of the population basic human rights. Some of the most famous historical events that are synonymous with racism include Segregation in the United States, Slave trade, the Holocaust and also Apartheid. These were instigated by people who can today be termed as Evil for lack of a better word.
The word “race” has been around since the 16th century. The term racism was invented in the 20th century ("Racism." Gale Student Resources in Context. Detroit); however, racism can be traced to the beginning of human existence. Racism is the belief that a certain group of people is different because of their race. Others might argue on its proper definition. Carlos Hoyt Jr, author of The Pedagogy of the Meaning of Racism: Reconciling a Discordant Discourse, describes the term as, “a meaning of which has been the subject of so much argument and mutation that its utility as a clear and reliable descriptor of a crucial form of ideology or behavior is less than certain” (Hoyt). While many have different definitions and perceptions of the word, belief, and ideology, most agree that racism can be defined as the belief that one’s race, characteristics, abilities, and qualities are superior to another race or group of races. Racism has long been in our human history. When Europeans first arrived in North America, so did racism against the Native Americans. Europeans made the Native Americans look like savages who needed to be assimilated through Christianity and European culture. The actions taken against the Native Americans, such as mass murder and taking land, was accepted by the people back in Europe because they made natives look inferior and less worthy than the Europeans. Thus, they had to be conquered. Racism against African-Americans can obviously be dated back to the days of slavery, but is also present to this day. African Americans were stolen from their country and forced to endure being sold, beaten, and tortured all because they were considered inferior. They were striped from who

With everything going on with Japan, the U.S didn’t have the right to take away the right of an immigrate, that may that helped them in previous wars which made this act unconstitutional. The U.S put everyone in a concentration camp without examining if they were supporting the U.S or were good in their past years as a U.S citizen. They were separated from the rest of the population in the United States just because they were partially
Racism is a trait that some people sadly have today. It was a great deal when the slave trade started in the 1600s(Slavery). Racism is frowned upon today, because in today's society it is expected to accept everyone’s race, religion, and personal choice. Today most of us have the knowledge to understand the people that are different and why they are different. Humans have distinct characteristics from the area on which their ancestors come from around the world. Before today, all races from all around the world judged other races for their different characteristics. The worst racism epidemic known to man is the North Americans trading African slaves. Another horrible discrimination against race was during World War II when the holocaust occurred. Today American families still have a dislike to other races, but they are finding out that these races are just normal humans like themselves. The lack of education is thought to be a major role in racism(Slavery).
