Success takes many different definitions. People have different interpretations of what success really means. For me is as simple as: living well and laughing often. The idea of living well is a very broad statement. Living well, in my opinion is getting success in personal, social and professional life. If I can achieve all of these three levels of success, I believe that I have lived well. Personal success for me is being able enjoy little things that life has to offer. For instance; understanding and appreciating diversity. To have someone to love and treasure, to meet the right person, fall in love, and get marry. To feel that I’m able to love my child and pass on wisdom to him .Feeling that someone loves me, is something that makes me completely happy and successful. Because I believe that without love, life is not thoroughly complete, thus never truly achieve success. I believe that, by being mentally and physically healthy, I have achieved personal success. When I get home to see my loving husband, my loved child, and then I’m able to sit down, relax and appreciate life, then I’m successful in my own right. Social success has a lot to do with the natural tendencies that I as human posses. For instance, I have identified good friends that I can count on as well as they can count on me. Meaning that I have good friend where I can rely on. I know that if a need help on anything, there will always be a helping hand. A part of societal success is also to learn how to treat people well, and I have been blessed to have such a great family that has showed me how to treat people since I was a little kid. I consider that I have reached professional success when I’m able to finish any goals that I have set in my mind. It doesn’t necessarily means that I need to have a masters or a doctored on my career. If my goal this year, is to graduate on April 2010, and I’m capable of doing it just the way I set it in my mind, then I have reached professional success, even if it is only my Associates in Art (AA).
What is success? Is it the process of doing a task and receiving a positive result acceptable amongst the community, or is it simply achieving ones own personal goals? Success to me can mean many things. Although I am successful in school, that does not necessarily mean I will lead a successful life.
According to Danika Senzer success is “....being confident and loving what you are doing . As long as you are proud of what you have, I would call that success. It will always be different from person to person, but that is okay.”(Senzer 34). This quote is expressing what Senzer really thinks success is. Maddi Dukes states that , “I think that true success is knowing that you succeeded a goal you set for yourself. I think this is the definition of success because when you set a goal for yourself, and you have worked so hard to complete it,it feels like complete success.” (Dukes
Societal success is something that is attained by aspiring to reach your own goals and dreams in cohorts with the goals that society has for us.
Success can be an extremely broad subject. There is an abounding amount of different views on what the “true” definition of success is. Personally, I believe that success is finding happiness. Success is waking up in the morning and not having to worry about whether or not the bills are going to be paid this month. Success is having a job that you enjoy going to every day. Success is having friends and family who love and support you. Success does not mean that one has to be exceedingly rich or have a lakeside mansion. As long as they are happy, they have succeeded in life.
To many people success means the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. But what it really means is more than just that; is having a beautiful and amazing family of two boys and one girl, and have the best wife. Also, success means reaching my goals or dreams, like starting my new manufactory and insurance business and keep working hard because in order to reach things I must be ready to fall and rise up. But like I said, to obtain where I want to be; I’ll first need to finish college having my Bachelor in Accounting and start from zero.
According to the Merriam- Webster’s Dictionary, success is defined as, someone or something that is successful: a person or thing that succeeds. Success could also be defined as, the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. It determines if you are satisfied with certain aspects of your life, for example, your appearance, your personality, your abilities and your relationship with others. Usually, people are very judgmental with themselves comparing themselves with others and making decisions about themselves based on the comparisons that they made. Most people feel bad about themselves from time to time. To become successful, you have to possess some factors that makes you stand out.
Individual ability to maintain strong family and martial relationships would be considered as a success on personal level. Jonathan A. Harris, a senator from Connecticut describes success as, “Going home at night with a smile and being able to sleep. And talking out someone’s recycling.” Personal relationships play an important part in people’s lives. A sound relationship with family members generates support. The amount of care and affection engendered from being married develops a solid relationship. Friends are another aspect in this category, which play a major role. Friends are there whenever or wherever they are required. Having a lot of friends expresses a message that an individual has self confidence. Personal success comes with a long lasting relationship.
Success is hard to pin down. It may be getting an A on a test or finding a high paying job or creating your most influential piece of writing or even just being able to be yourself. Success is different to everyone. Success follows no arbitrary rules of definition or singularity, success is just what is important to you and what what makes you happy. Success controls people’s lives. It is the single most driving force in all of history, the will to be successful. Without our preconceived notions of success and what it means to be successful, no one would follow rules, everyone would follow their own.
Societal success is something that is attained by aspiring to reach your own goals and dreams in cohorts with the goals that society has for us. Societal success also has a lot to do with the natural tendencies we as humans posses. The typical societal goals that we would naturally have for ourselves would be to meet someone, fall in love and get married. We are also apt to identify having good friends with having achieved socially. We have achieved societal success, typically, if we have met the right person, lived happily, started a family and raised our children well. A part of societal success is also to learn to treat people well; to practice the 'golden rule.'; We need to fill these goals that society has for us and attempt to achieve societal success in order to fill our need to belong to society and fit in as an every day, functioning member of society. We also realize the personal goals and dreams that we set for ourselves in this pursuit of conformity. Achieving this civic success, as you might call it, is only a small part of our venture to living well.
Societal success is something that is accomplished by a strong desire to reach certain goals and dreams in ways that lead to goals that society
Successful is a simple word, however, the meaning of this word changes quite often. Each person has a different definition of success and that definition can change depending on the situation. Bob Dylan once wrote, “A man is a success if he gets up in the morning and gets to bed at night and in between does what he wants to do.” This a very broad definition of success and should not be used. The definition of success should be “the pursued goals have been adequately accomplished.”
Success is within the mind of the individual. A large portion of ones life is spent working to become successful. People are told throughout childhood to work hard so they can grow up and make lots of money. But success takes many different forms. Different people have different interpretations of what success means to them. For some, success is measured by social status and wealth; for others success is determined only by the amount of happiness one feels.
The true definition of success is the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. Although, many people have different perceptions of success. Success is judged by the individuals themselves. Success can be defined in many ways including: wealth, happiness, fame, etc. Success can be anything from material goods to concepts. It all depends on your concept and how you achieve your goals. Success is something we all wish to achieve and even though we have different definitions of success, we all want to success in different aspects of our lives. For some success, success is attaining an education, others it's getting a good job, for others it's being wealthy, and others to start and own a business while for others it's having a family of our own and seeing our children prosper. We all have different metrics of measuring success and we all have different goals, but it is part of human instinct to want success, to want to succeed in everything we do no matter how small or big. Success gives us a feeling of development and growth, a sense of gratification that we are no longer where we used to be, but rather
Success, by definition, it means to achieve a goal or purpose. To some, success might be popularity, or even getting a raise at their job; but to me, success is more about how you live. At first this statement might confuse a person, but then if one digs deeper into this response they’ll find something greater. This “something greater” is certainly not anything materialistic, rather someone’s spiritual faith and their happiness in what they do.
