This Girl
The girl slowly creeped across the floor. She had a look on her face of
love. She began to tempt me. I could not allow her to take control over me. I
could not resist. I had to let the love warm my body. I have let her take over
once again. I have lost to her kiss. The kiss that has sweetened my blood. I
absorbed her body.
I walked down the trail on a journey to find my house. I took this route
every day. I know that it will lead me back to the place that I love so much.
The place that I learn to make something of myself. This wonderful place that I
call home, gives me power. I am finally a free man. I can survive well, and I
control my everyday thing. I love living alone. I am in control. I set the rules,
I am the man of house. I rule my own country.
She tickles me with her long nails. She scratches the back of my neck oh
so gently. I get high off of this girls love so often. I met her at a symphony.
She is very popular all the puppies of my society adore her. She has seen parts
of the world that no one else has. She has been kicked out of this country many
times. The dreams I have after I sleep with this woman are so incredible that it
makes me a little crazy the next day.
Why do my parents keep bothering me? I can hold my own now. I am mature,
I am a man. I do get distracted real easily and my parents keep ruining my
distraction, I am upset because of that. I have my own apartment in Santa Cruz,
I live in a pardise. California has it all, beautiful beaches, pretty girls,
great bars, money, palm trees, and tons of smog. Can't live without it.
This girl really is a trip. All the things people have said about her
are true. I saw her at the tikki bar the other day, she was dressed in a suit
that had stars and stripes on it. She was looking fine. I asked her if she
wanted to go for a walk, she replied with a sexy, acceptance. The journey
started off heavenly. Then as always she started the tease. She stripped me down
naked. I had lost all control, I slipped out of this world and she wont let me
In the novel Ethan Frome by Edith Wharton, the protagonist Ethan Frome has an unusual personality. Along with this, Ethan’s motivations seem hidden. Ethan mainly associates with his wife Zeena and his young lover Mattie. The reason his social circle is limited is because the town has shunned him. The people have isolated him due to the decisions he has made. The story begins with the new town Reverend who forms a special interest in Ethan. Furthermore, the story goes back in time to explain why the town treats Ethan the way they do.
In Cold Blood by Truman Capote takes a brave deviation from the mainstream of murder or crime novels in that the author frequently takes the perspective of the perpetrators of the crime in question. Dick Hickock and Perry Smith were two particularly perverse individuals who were hung for the murder of the Clutter family. Capote gives a well researched account of the murder and events following November 14th, 1959 in such depth that the reader may even begin to sympathize with the duo. Capote portrays the murderers through a journalistic and mostly impartial description that enhances the reader's understanding of the two by going into trivial details. Dick and Perry are two individuals from conflicting origins and attitudes. Hickcock lives
Mattie and Zeena, the two leading women characters in this novel have many differences that set them apart from each other, but also similarities that grab the reader’s interest. When they both entered Ethan’s life, they were a breath of fresh air that broke the silence in Ethan’s life. However, the crisp air that Mattie brought was prolonged and when Ethan began falling into a pit of silence again, she was there to get him to speak his mind and let out his emotions. She tried to have a positive outlook on life and to try new things to benefit her and others around her. Mattie was more outgoing and spontaneous opposed to Zeena. While Mattie was out and about in the town, Zeena was home all day. Zeena was bitter and controlling towards Ethan and everyone else in her life. Regardless, they were both willing to help when push came to shove. "Zeena 's done for Mattie, and done for Ethan, as good as she could. It was a miracle, considering how sick she was – but she seemed to be raised right up just when the call came to her. Not as she 's ever given up doctoring, and she 's had sick spells right along; but she 's had the strength given her to care for those two for over twenty years, and before the accident came she thought she couldn 't even care for herself” (Wharton 23). So despite of Zeena being cruel and pessimistic most of the time, she was willing to return the favor of kindness and
Capote's structure in In Cold Blood is a subject that deserves discussion. The book is told from two alternating perspectives, that of the Clutter family who are the victims, and that of the two murderers, Dick Hickock and Perry Smith. The different perspectives allow the reader to relive both sides of the story; Capote presents them without bias. Capote masterfully utilizes the third person omniscient point of view to express the two perspectives. The non-chronological sequencing of some events emphasizes key scenes.
I had just turned eleven and received a book, Eleven by Lauren Myracle, from my mother as a birthday gift. As I opened the page and read the first line I immediately had an overwhelmingly bubbly feeling. The sheer coincidences made me feel like that book was written with me in mind. I read on and on non stop for the rest of the day because how could I turn away from a book that was hypothetically written about me. It expressed my pre-teen drama, things only an eleven-year-old would consider drama and it inspired me. It gave me the sudden urge to pour my heart into the little mini books I was known for writing and leaving around the house. Writing was something that I was very passionate as a little girl and is still something I am very passionate about as a young adult. The little things I did in my childhood
The Voice: Well, Mrs. Dryer, I go to a very competitive school. I have to take competitive classes. It's not as though the work load would go down if I dropped to a lower level. I had a very busy week, and the play just started. I'll have more time this week. I promise to practice more between now and next lesson.
As a young child in elementary school, I struggled in the regular classes of language arts and math, and this caused my teachers to put me into Special Education. I recall hearing the regular students call me “stupid” all the time behind my back. When I had my regular classes in Social Studies or Science none of the other students wanted to be my partner in the group projects. I felt like an outcast, and my self-confidence was exceedingly low. However, I knew that I was not the smartest kid, but I was a hard worker. I begged my mom to help me convince the teachers to allow me to to join the regular classes in the 5th grade. Fortunately, my teachers agreed, and in my regular language arts class I was motivated to prove to my teachers, my classmates,

Truman Capote establishes respect and trust in what he writes from with audience, ethos, through the use of an extensive variety of facts and statistics, logos. Capote uses so many dates, times, and other facts about the crime committed in the book and the subsequent investigation that the reader has to believe what the author is writing. The use of all these facts shows that Capote did his research and he interviewed, questioned, and obtained the opinions of every person that even slightly important to crime itself and the investigation/trial. The author is obviously very meticulous when it comes to dates and times; every important event in the book has a date and sometimes even a time of day to go with it. Some examples of dates included were the day of the murders (November 15th, 1959), dates of when Perry and Dick were here or there (December 31th, 1959- a small restaurant in Texas or noon on December 25th, 1959- beach in Miami Florida), date when the two criminals were apprehended (January 1st, 1960), dates when they were brought from this prison to that one and finally when they were brought to death’s row (April, 1960). Other small facts are also used by the author, like facts about the criminal’s early lives or experiences that they had, which could only have been obtained through extensive interviews with Perry and Dick. The use of all these logos by Capote establishes strong ethos, showing the reader that the author did more than enough research to show that he has the knowledge to write a whole book on the subject.
In Ethan Frome, by Edith Wharton, Zenobia (Zeena) Frome is deemed as an evil, pesky wife. A hypochondriac, Zeena claims that she is ill and must seek medical treatment from a doctor. Ethan grows tired of Zeena’s complaining of her illnesses and fatigue and takes interest in Mattie, the young woman lodging in the Frome residence. The reader is meant to detest Zeena and side with Ethan, however, analyzing Ethan’s true character and the narrator’s biased point of view allows the reader to sympathize with Zeena.

Through the years we kept in contact while she went away to College and I even got to visit her in Seattle for a short period of time - a tip for everyone - the romantic-looking horse drawn carriage rides that take you through old town Seattle - aren't very romantic when the horse has gas problems......

Seven years have passed since our first encounter and in those past seven years, we have made many memories and parted ways several times. Whenever we parted ways, we were led back to each other as if there was a spark between us. Ever since you entered my life I felt as if God somehow sent one of his angels down to me. Over the last few months, I feel like my heart has grown stronger because of the love I have for you. This love gets stronger and stronger each and every day.
Ah, I remember how she used to be with me all the time. A day did not go by without me going over to play. I remember how we used to play for hours and hours. We played whatever came to mind; it didn’t matter as long as we were together. We were happy.
