Basketball is supposed to be a team sport. A team can constant of ten or twelve players but only five can compete at a team. Five players on the court working together to win. Teammates are supposed to have their teammates back. Fight to the very end for their team to get a win. This is not always true. Players have their own way of doing things. They think a team should be like this or that, but they are players who do the right things for the team. I have experienced this from my team. My teammates
The temperature dropped to a frigid ten degrees fahrenheit with a -15 degree wind chill factor in Title Town. The only thing easily seen in the fog was my teammate’s and the thousands of spectator’s breath hovering in the air like a ghost. The championship game was set to start in 15 minutes. My flag football team and I sat on the Green Bay Packers sideline because we won our final game. I eagerly watched my favorite wide receiver, Jordy Nelson, catch the football when suddenly Aaron Rodgers approached
I vividly remember the day coach called us in for the official soccer rooster. This would distinguish who would be on JV and who would be on Varsity, the dream. Our school did not have varsity at this point and finally having a varsity team meant everything for all the diehard soccer fanatics at my school. Names are called one by one, “Benito, Palido, Sacramento,” it went on and on until the last name was about to be announced. I felt my heartbeat through my chest while my hands were becoming sweatier
first time on the road with my new team. This was because a lot was on the line this season, and I strived to make this season my best, and most enjoyable. This is mostly because this was the final year getting the opportunity to put on my red and black jersey every tournament. It was my last season traveling around the country with my teammates every weekend with one goal, to win, and it was my last season to improve my skills all around, in an attempt to further my basketball career into college
In my lifetime many memories are contiuing to be made with family, friends, and teammates. Memories that are going to stay with me for a life time. When looking back to my memories there are many memories that I wish that I don’t remember. Also their are many that I wish that I can go back in time and relive the moment. Form the handful of memories that I have made in high school so far there is one that I can’t get out of my head. All from taking a PE game too seriously. To start off let me give

In order to succeed, softball players must possess good hand-eye coordination, strong
The scariest thing that I have ever experienced was dislocating my knee during my high school basketball game. While attending Forestview High in 2013 the second game of the season, I acquired my knee injury against Highland Tech. I was very excited about the game because I worked very hard to take a senior spot and was finally getting the opportunity that I was waiting for. Everyday during practice, I gave my all, all the blood, sweat, and tears that I experienced I just knew it was my time. Tuesday
I woke up on this cold Saturday morning not expecting that this would be one of the biggest days of my life. To be honest, I expected this to be my last day in the NBA for awhile. There are many teams that have gave me a chance and I have blew every single one of them. I have thought of giving up many times, but I am so involve with the game that I can’t and I have came so far. I have one last chance to prove everyone that I am where I should be. That chance is my game tonight against the nets. I
The bright lights illuminated down on the tore up soccer field. The scent of sweat filled the air, with the loud cheer of parents in the background. The scoreboard read 2-1, and the game was over. After a grueling 90 minutes of playing, the game had been decided by a single goal; a goal that had not gone my team's way. For me, it meant the end of my season, but for some of my teammates, it had a heavier impact. After 12 years of hard work and dedication and commitment, it was all over. They had
It’s eight in the morning, and it’s so silent on the bus that you can hear a pin drop. The final soccer game of the season was on April 5th, it was a bitter sweet feeling. The game didn’t start for another hour, but my coach had wanted the team to get there early so we could do warm up drills. On the bus ride to the stadium I kept to myself just listening to music trying to get in the zone. My team was going against the best team in our division. This game was all about redemption; we had lost to
Life is full of obstacles and challenges that occasionally require help from family and friends, and steps that we all must take. As human beings, we are constantly learning throughout these steps and challenges. So in this sense, life is similar to a game of soccer because just as in everyday life we go through the same obstacles, and have people there to support us. In a game of soccer, players, acquire cuts and scrapes just as we gain experiences throught our lives, and once the game is over
As I sat there on Saturday morning and watched my team play at the Jonesville dig pink tournament, I noticed many things. I noticed that even though we are a team, we weren 't a team. This was the first time I had looked deep into my team and what I found, was quite sad. There are many reasons why people act the way they do in different situations or just in general. In this paper I will talk about the varsity volleyball team and how we interact with each other throughout the day during a tournament
even had to tie up my elbow length sleeves with black pre-wrap. Unfortunately, I did not put any sunscreen on, so my shoulders got sunburned. They were all red and cracked, and they stung. At half time, I drank a whole jug of water. I did not get subbed out at all, and played the whole game. I worked so hard, through the scorching hot game. To make matters worse, the game was played on an artificial turf field. The sun shines on the miniscule, black rubber balls to make the ground hot. When someone’s
As the sun rose over the horizon I was already on my way to an early morning tournament game with my baseball team. I knew that if we lost todays game that we would be eliminated from the tournament and would be sent home. I had almost no belief that we would win today because the team we were scheduled to play was ranked number one in the tournament. I knew that the rest of the team felt the same way. When we arrived we just sat in the parking lot not wanting to get out of the car and into the
of my couch. Face down on the carpet, I proceeded to scream in pain. Answering the phone quickly got check off my things to do list. As soon as I could regain my sanity I hopped over to the couch and forgot about school. My toe suddenly turned black and swollen. It was the worst coincidence that could’ve happened to me. I went to the hospital later that day, where I heard that my foot was broken and I couldn’t play. I didn’t pay attention to the doctor at all. The day before the game came
The Final Game It was November 1st and it was the day of my last volleyball game. I ran into my friend Eri and we started talking about the game later that day. It was against Tunkhannock. They were the best volleyball team from our area, and wouldn’t you know it on our senior night we had to play against them. Senior night was the one night where the seniors were recognized, whether they were good or not. The whole day the team was joking about how much we would lose by against our rival team
Personal Writing: The Evaluation of My Coaches Throughout my high school basketball career I experienced several different coaches. Every new coach brought a different approach to coaching. The varying techniques of coaching brought about different attitudes and expectations during practices and games. I found that during practice, coaches had either the nice-guy or the drill sergeant approach. They also had different methods of coaching during and after the games. Practices are very important
For head coach Matt Rhule and the Temple Owls, the 2015 season was a fun and magical ride. The Owls finished the season 10-4, won the AAC East division and went to their fifth bowl game (The Boca Raton Bowl) in school history. With the 2015 senior class now gone and chasing their NFL dreams, its time for the new crop of Owls to lead the nest. While the Owls will still have seniors quarterback P.J. Walker and running back Jahad Thomas leading them this new season, there are three deciding factors
Failure leads to disappointments but sometimes it can result in great lessons and successes. People can go through hard times, but if they stick it out and see it through, the failures and hard times can lead to success. This happened to me recently involving soccer. It was our second game of the high school season, and we were playing Northeastern. I had started the game and after the national anthem and the announcing of our names, the game whistle had blown, singling the start of the game. The
