Each stanza has nine lines that are written with a rhyme scheme of a-a-a-a-b-c-c-c-b. For one thing, “The Lady of Shalott” is a ballad. The rhyming throughout is used in a musical way. In fact, there is a lovely song adaptation by Loreena McKennitt. I strongly encourage listening to it. ‘The Lady of Shalott’ is often repeated at the last line.
