“Stuck” in Burlington When most people talk about Burlington, they almost never have anything good to say. After high school, people constantly ask you, “What are your plans after graduating?” If you say that you’re planning on staying here to go to SCC, people often don’t have an encouraging attitude. Some would even say that Burlington is a place people end up being “stuck” in. Those words usually have negative connotations behind them. Who said Burlington is all bad? I am here to tell you a few
The Amazed Lover Country music is, has always, and will always be king to me and my family. For as far back as the span of my memory can reach, country music was constantly being played in the car, at weddings, and basically everywhere else around us. I actually reached a point of belief where I truly thought I could feel the music flowing through my veins. Within all this country, however, there was one specific piece of country music that stood above the rest: Lonestar’s late 20th century love
facilities in Lonestar Montgomery Lonestar Montgomery is no doubt one of the best institutions in America, and the best of library facility is highly required. Library is a place or building where books are kept and read. “The library is a researching place where most, if not all the information needed on any subject matter can be gotten.” (Odunayo 2014). It will be generally accepted that library is one of the key facilities that propel standard education in any institution, and Lonestar is not an
utilized in the design of the ad, along with the inclusion of “Now Accepting LoneStar”. LoneStar is a large credit union that serves a majority of Dallas, so being inclusive of this not only at the farmers market itself, but also in the advertisement will help to draw in customers from the LoneStar credit union. This also may give customers the notion of the credit union supporting the Dallas Farmers Market. Although the LoneStar recognition is a meaningful use of ethos, it is not the main concentration
their cafeteria food, hate it because it is bad. Now using bad in the context of “inadequate or below standard; not satisfactory for use” or “causing or liable to cause sickness or ill healthy injuries or harmful” (qtd. in Dictionary). The Kingwood Lonestar Cafeteria food is not made to satisfy students nor do they try to make the best tasting food in the world. The food the cafeteria makes is bad because it is very unhealthy, tastes disgusting, and is way overpriced. Firstly cafeteria food is very
Lonestar College had over 90000 students enroll last year, and is one of the largest community college systems in Texas. With such a high volume of attendees, student services should create a job placement program to benefit student success before and after graduation. A great place to start this program would be the Montgomery College Campus. The Montgomery College campus is centrally located in The Woodlands, close to many businesses, and is easily accessible, making the campus is an ideal setting
I would never have thought that community service could be such a reward experience. As the oldest child and growing without my mom, I never had the opportunity of having someone that could help me with my homework or help me when I needed something. Since I came to the United States six years ago I was definitely on my own considering my mom didn’t know English to help me. From this moment forward, I can say I am very proud of myself for being the first person in my family to pursue a college degree
ou would believe that writers would support each other with the changes in their lives and the repercussions of it but during the 1800s some writers felt differently and this was the case for Percy Shelley a poet who expressed his disdain for the change in William Wordsworths’ writing in his poem “To Wordsworth.” Like many critics in this time period Shelley has the speaker reflect many of the complaints of the difference in Wordworth’s writing, the speaker speaks to the “Poet of Nature” in a degrading
gives listeners a feeling, even if it's brief, of what a devoted and affectionate relationship feels like. The song, "Amazed," by Lonestar, presents a perfect example of how the lyrics of country songs can display love. Lonestar sings, "I'm so in love with you, it just keeps getting better. I wanna spend the rest of my life with you by my side, forever and ever" (Lonestar, 1999). This song demonstrates compassion, commitment, and devotion, which all combine to warm the hearts and souls of listeners

are put through cruel tests, not all animals react the same to the treatments causing some products not to be safe, and there are better testing methods. First of all, the animals in product testing are put through very cruel tests. According to Lonestar edu, 60% of the animals are used in biomedical research. These tests are very painful and cause serious injuries. Some of the tests include the LD50 and the Draize. The LD50 test is when they pump substances into the animal's stomach until they die
The Triangular Theory Of Love was developed by Robert Sternburg and his associates. According to the theory, love has three essential elements. They are intimacy, passion, and commitment. He uses a triangle to explain his theory. The interaction of these three elements produce eight types of love. Sternburg says a love based on one component is less likely to survive then one that is based on two or more.So let’s go over the eight types. The first type is Nonlove, which lacks all three elements
Personal responsibility is the idea that people have full control over their actions. Things like basic health and hygiene can be seen as personal responsibility because they are actions that are carried out independently. In my life, I don’t have to shoulder responsibilities all by myself because my sister helps me balance things out. Although I am still solely responsible for the outcome of my decisions, it is easier for me to act reasonable with help by my side. Personal responsibility to me is
What TSA activities have you been involved in: Throughout my time in TSA, I have been involved in various activities. These include being a chapter delegate at the state and national conferences, achieving the Silver recognition award, earning my Lonestar and Texan awards at two leadership conferences, and lastly being inaugurated as chapter treasurer and regional secretary. Additionally, I have been a national finalist for Computer Numerical Control, along with having participated in various other
On October 20th, I attended the opening show for Almost Maine at the Lonestar center- Cyfair. Now that I have seen two different plays, I can see major differences in the styles of acting, scenic design and costumes that the director used to make the audience better understand the play. This time around, I’m happy to say I enjoyed this play due to the fact I wasn’t questioning the content of the play and enjoyed seeing my classmates showing off their talents in this work of art. Before the show started
Higher education is often defined as education through college, or as education after high school. Higher education is not defined only by being booksmart. It includes being creative, having a well-rounded mindset, and being aware of the things going on around you. Many students who go into college think that higher education should only be defined by scholars pursuing the highest paid careers , but college is the place where students open up to different things and career opportunities which they

Big Nut spoke to her in a great way and treating her better than any other Doctor could
With so many new jobs and job opportunities developing in today's world there is an endless number of careers one can have. To choose my career I had to take many things into consideration like, how the job would fit me and the yearly salary of the job. The career I choose to research is U.S Customs and Border Protection. A Custom officer, also referred to as federal agents or CBP would be in the same category as a police officer or detective. The reason that I would like to be a Custom officer is
"Growing up in Different Eras of time and disparities between the quality of education affect peoples’ perception of heritage." "Everyday Use" by Alice Walker was an inspiring story of family and heritage. Simplicity against complexity. The old ways and the new ways. It was about people fighting for change and other people who were content with the way things were. The story takes place in the 60’s or 70’s and is written in the first person from the mother’s perspective. She has two daughters
Of all school shootings only 47 percent of them are on college campuses. The other 53 percent are in elementary through high school grade campuses. These numbers can be drastically cut back by allowing concealed and open carry on college campuses. Students should be allowed to open carry on campus because it increases the protection of both themselves and the public. Did you know that open carry has been allowed in all 50 states since 2013? However only a small number of college campuses allow
