Junior College is the Best Option Oftentimes we hear negative opinions and comments about attending a junior college over a university. Through my experiences I feel there are many benefits in attending a junior college. The benefits I have found include: convenience, educational benefits, and financial savings. First of all, attending a junior college is convenient in many ways. For example, if a student attends a junior college there is a better chance of having someone that you know in
Juniors’ Activities Outside of School During freshman year in the high school cafeteria I began to realize that my once extremely close class was starting to break apart and divide into new groups or cliques. I watched as friends broke apart and ventured out to new people, new things, and new situations--not bad ones, just different. These cliques began to form by the activities that are taking place outside of school, for example: the athletes, the honorary students, and the careless ones. Typically
When we were told that we were going to have to participate in Junior Achievement I didn’t know what to expect even though I did have Junior Achievement while I was in grammar school. I didn’t know what to expect being on the other side of it actually teaching the students and not being the student since I’m use to always being the student and not the teacher because that’s basically what we were told that we were going to be teacher for the day. My group was told that we were going to have 7th graders
what about our junior highers? Our elementary students have many options to play, have there own area they want to sit at during lunch. Us junior highers don’t have as many choices because we come out later in the day for recess. Us junior highers and I would like more things to have to ourselves. This would make us have a better junior high. Options for a better Junior High recreation area are a Food Cart, Junior High playground, and a private lunch area. Many people in this school usually rush
In junior high, I was a victim of bullying. It started out in 7th grade when I first moved to my new school, I was extremely shy and kept thing to myself. I was so shy that when the teachers called on me, my face would get super red and I would get a panic attack. And that’s when everyone would make fun of me because I looked like a tomato when someone called me. At this moment, I thought to myself that it would blow over just because school has just started, but nothing changed. Mid-year I’m still
trying to get to class. Passing periods should be changed at Kearney Junior High because students are often late to class. First of all, students are often late to class because they run in the hallways. According to emspassingperiods, ¨Classmates bump into each other a lot in the hallway because they are running to get to class. Therefore, longer passing periods will reduce the stress of getting to class on time.¨ Throughout the school day, I personally witness many students running or sprinting through
On June 13th, I participated in a Young Debaters Program with other students from our school competing against various junior high schools in a debate contest. I arrived too early, was wearing a far too casual dress, and was walking in extremely painful shoes. I had butterflies in my stomach and I felt terrible. The debate was absolutely awful, but the experiences I had with my friends during and after the debate were some of the most memorable occurrences of my 7th grade year. I clearly remember
I was told that this, my junior year, would be the easiest year of my high school career. And no, they were absolutely wrong. It was not just school and grades that I was concern about either. I had other things to worry about, things like, driving, clubs, friends and family. I however had no idea that it would be this difficult. Throughout this school year I have learned many things; like the value of sleep, whose really your friend, and that although very important, grades are not everything.
In my Junior year of high school, I hit a breaking point -- an emotional, existential crisis in which I was completely lost mentally and physically. I questioned my future with little fate in my abilities. At the time, I wasn’t doing so hot in my classes. A year prior, I had qualified for a conglomeration of nearly full AP/IB classes in history, English, and fine art classes that challenged. I’ve always been fascinated with history, literature, and writing. For years, I aspired to be a poet; but
So, you’re off to Junior High? Wow, it is a compelling ride. The homework, the friends, the classes, the overall experience is one that is not a one to be likely forgotten. Of course, you could be going into this blind, without any heads ups, or any tips or special advice. Well, it looks like you can consider yourself lucky! Here are some tips for getting through Junior High well. I’ll cover what I feel to be the most important things that will help you out the best. First, I’ll go over some of the
battle with himself, his surroundings, and other people. Early in the book, Victor is portrayed as somewhat of a bully, and he and Junior are even referred to as, "two of the most accomplished bullies of recent Native American history." (page 13) Victor's closest and most meaningful relationship in the book is his friendship with Junior. It's unclear why Junior is best friends with Victor, but both of the men seem to need each other and depend on each other more than they might be willing to
met. Each took their lives before I was born. I spoke with my mother about Grandma Ruth yesterday evening. She delights in telling me how much Grandma Ruth would have loved me. We didn't talk about her often. She died when my mother was a junior in high school. My mother always refered to her as "my mother", so it wasn't until I was a teen that I came up with a name for her. My grandfathers are called by their last names: Grandpa P. and Grandpa R. My other grandmother was called Amah and her husband
Reflection Statement I think the school is taking the “easy road” and doesn’t want to be liable for anything therefore they make all these rules that prohibit anyone on campus to have fun. The campus is becoming more and more unbearable by the moment. On the weekends it is so boring there is no one here except a whole lot of public safety. That is why people enjoy them selves and use substances, but the university doesn’t look at any of these aspects realistically. The university is living in the
This is how it happens, colleges recruit players based on what their needs are or what they will need shortly in the future. So let us say that one school has a great core of sophomore and junior players for an upcoming season. The coaches do not have the need or the room for many new top notch players. So all of the top recruits find other schools to go to. Then, let us say that the great core of players leaves for the NBA, leaving the team with mediocre players and a horrible season to look forward
have had a first love to remember, but I still remember vividly my first crush. Her name was Kelly and I had the hots for her through junior high and early high school. We met in junior high band. We both played French Horn and sat next to each other every day. I was first attracted to her by the things we had in common. We both had the tendency to follow the school rules. Like me, she liked writing and we later developed an interest in Biology. We were simply like-minded. She would finish my thoughts
Automotive Body Repairer Auto body repairers Are highly skilled craftspeople who repair damaged automobile and truck bodies, restores body metal to the original contours, and replaces non-repairable body parts. I chose automotive body repairer for my report because I like to deal with cars and I enjoy performing hands-on activities. I like the hands-on and mechanical operation of this career. that this game would be a perfect learning device to teach a variety of important subjects to the age groups ranging from 10-13 years old. My idea is that it would be incorporated in to a family living/economics/home economics class, most likely in a junior high setting. I think it would be best if each student had a computer of their own and worked individually. As their teacher I would pre-set other families for their “sim” or “sims” to interact with. In The SIMS you have to create a family. The
They represent all the joy, sorrow, and laughter felt in my life. The large, shiny red poetry book my father read to me reminds me of all of these. It is probably my favorite. Then I recall my people friends that attended school with me through the years. What great fun they were! I doubt I'll ever forget the smell of my kindergarten class and my first meeting with Belle Hudson. As I get older, I realize how precious that friendship was.
Philosophy of Education I spent some time looking back upon my time in elementary, junior high and high school and thinking about all of my favorite teachers, and what exactly made them such outstanding, inspiring educators. I came to several conclusions. A good teacher is one who can not only show a student how to add four and seven, but also help them see why it is important for them to know how to do so. A good teacher is one who can explain to a child the process of photosynthesis while at
The effect, somewhat to my surprise, is a kind of buoyancy. Transcendence is too fancy a word for this change. And yet it does feel sometimes as if I have lifted up off the surface of things like a balloon straining at its tether. In junior-high school I caught my first real glimpse of "the big picture." That is, I began to understand how big the universe really is. Above us, innumerable wheeling galaxies blow like sand across a shoreless Sahara of spacetime. But there is an even vaster space
