Shadowing a Certified Athletic Trainer For this project, the certified athletic trainer who I have shadowed for almost eight hours in just one day is Candace O'Bryan, currently the athletic trainer at Archbishop Hoban High School in Akron. Candace has worked at Hoban now entering her third year at the high school. She works alone as a trainer there but works along side one team doctor who is at every game, and the other one being a neurosurgeon but is just a parent helping out. Candace works
shoulder looking curved in (concave) or not feeling as firm as before. DIAGNOSIS This condition may be diagnosed based on a physical exam and medical history. You may also have imaging tests, such as an X-ray or MRI, to check for a fracture, dislocation, or rotator cuff injury in your shoulder. TREATMENT Treatment for this condition depends on the severity of the injury. Treatment may include: • Rest, ice, and gradual stretching and strengthening exercises. • A sling to hold the shoulder in

longer even and smooth. This type of tearing is proven to be pretty common and rarely causes symptoms. It is often times seen in the shoulder as people get older. Sometimes the labrum may have a large tear where a portion of the labrum gets into the joint and causes clicking and catching as the ball moves around in the socket. This tear is very rarely seen, and most of the other included labrum tears will not cause these symptoms. The third type of labrum tear is in the area where the biceps tendon
Your Dislocated Shoulder The shoulder joint allows the arm to move in many directions, which makes it the most mobile joint in the human body. With this mobility comes some drawbacks, since the joint is unstable and becomes dislocated easily. Dislocated shoulders happen when the upper arm born, or humerus, is forcibly removed from its socket. Most dislocations are anterior dislocations, which means the head of the humerus is positioned in front of the joint. Signs

References and resources used: Elbow Dislocation With Rehab Elbow dislocation is the displacement of the bones that form your elbow joint. Three bones come together to form your elbow. • The humerus. This is the bone in your upper arm. • The radius and ulna. These are the two bones in your forearm that form the lower part of your
Pivot joints are found in your neck and your elbow and only allows rotation whereas a hinge joint can be found in your elbow, knee and ankle and allows flexion and extension. Both joints are uni-axial but are made up of different bones, pivot joints being made up of irregular bones and hinge joints are made up of long bones. They are both different to look at for example, a pivot joint is a ring around a peg where as a hinge joint is a cylinder in a troth. Both joints can be used I sport for example
The hip joint is the articulation between the pelvis and the femur, characterized by the joint surface opposition of the acetabulum and the head of femur creating a synovial ball and socket joint. It is one of the largest and most stable joints in the body. Figure ( ): Anatomy of the hip, adapted from (Connecticut, 2006) The stability of the hip joints is achieved by the depth and congruence of the articular surfaces, further deepened and stabilized by the acetabular labrum. needle. When the joints in the hand and the digits are affected by arthritis, day to day living can be very difficult. What causes hand arthritis? Osteoarthritis is one of the main causes of hand arthritis. The hands and wrists are made up of many small bones and joints, which interact with each other to provide the range of motion needed. The joints are protected by a layer of cartilage, which acts as a shock absorber and provides a smooth surface for the bones of the joints to glide over easily
diagnostic factors, and the different treatments for this disorder (Smith). EDS can vary in severity and are transmitted as autosomal recessive, autosomal dominant, or X-linked recessive traits. The primary characteristics are hyperextensible skin and joints (Dia. 1-2, pg.6), tendency to bruise easily (Dia. 3, pg.6), reduced wound healing capability, pseudotumors, and ocular defects. Differences within the six types may reflect inter/intra familial variability or genetic heterogeneity. Each type of EDS
there is maximum rotation (aka the cocking phase) the distraction force was low. Also, it was stated that because of the elbow angle at foot stride and ball release that the shoulder joint was affected more so than at any other time. Finally, in order to understand why the injuries occur we should learn the joint ranges of motion so we can develop better preventive methods for injuries. I don’t believe that this article is very reliable, because the way the chose their subject wasn’t very scientifical
He was born during the Great Depression in the poorest of American states, the son of black farm laborers. Only talent, hard work, and an unstoppable artistic vision can account for King's journey out of the Mississippi Delta, through the roadhouse joints of the "Chitlin' Circuit" in the South to the legendary Apollo Theater in New York, into the recording studio, to the hearts of millions. Osteoarthritis is a degenerative arthritis, a condition in which joint cartilage degenerates or breaks down. New tissue, which grows at the ends of bones, now has no cartilage cap to control it. Instead, this new bone forms into strange lips and spurs that grind and grate and get in the way of movement of the joint. Osteoarthritis is common in older people after years of wear-and-tear that thin the cartilage and the bones. Osteoarthritis can also result from diseases in which there is softening of

The word means "joint inflammation," but because other structures are also affected, the diseases are often called connective tissue diseases. The terms rheumatism and rheumatic diseases are also used.
