The assigned article for this week of the course is titled "Screw Removal". It is written by Dick Maheu, and originally appeared in the July 2015 issue of American Gunsmith magazine. Mr. Maheu begins his article by stating that anyone in the gunsmith profession will always come across stuck screws. I imagine this to be a very common thing, as most civilians don't know how to properly care for their guns. As we learned early on in this program, the right tools for the job are a must. The author

The industrial revolution boosted the firearms industry. It allowed gunsmiths who formerly would cut rifling and make parts by hand using saws and files to now use vertical mills and lathes to improve both output and precision. Barrels became easier to rifle and take to size using lathes and mills allowed sights to be manufactured
and reading about the evolution that the firearms industry has encountered is literally mind blowing. Also the thought of where it will continue to go is even more interesting. My goal is to be like John Browning and become the next future genius gunsmith firearms inventor. If you are interested in learning more about the history of firearms there is tons of video's on YouTube that are very great and extremely knowledgeable. I would recommend this to my fellow students. In conclusion to this
Ballistics in forensic science deals with firearms; how they are used, why they are used, and why this type of weapon is used frequently in murder (Claridge, 2014). Most people know that Jamestown was a thriving country. However, some people did not know that the first years were hard and tough for the colonists. In fact, the people had a dramatic drop in their population. Before what was happening, one hundred ten Englishmen arrived in May 1607. Even though many people were brought to Jamestown, the majority of them died. They died mainly by three several reasons. Some of the advantages are that even a novice gunsmith could build this firearm. These firearms are very easy to customise to the operators needs. These firearms have parts readily available but when mismatching part it can void warranties on the parts. Companies strongly advise using all brand matching

Mainly, he helped by building muskets. “ His imagination had enabled him to see that machines could produce muskets of greater precision than could the most carefully trained hands, and faster than an army of gunsmiths.”(108) Building these muskets with interchangeable parts proved to have a major impact for the United States, and was also one of Whitney’s many

Although they are different, they all possess similar themes. Ultimately, it is revealed that a poor gunsmith made the pistol. It was supposed to be a wedding gift for a nobleman who sought to marry the gunsmith’s daughter. The protagonist, Jerry Welbach who played by Brad Pitt, is assigned to acquire the pistol for his employer Margolese, Gene Hackman.
Is the Colt .45 Obsolete? Can the Model 1911 Colt .45 Autos still hold their own in today’s market of newfangled high tech guns? The 1911’s have faithfully served our country from 1911 to 1983 without any changes being made to the original design, and only minor modifications were incorporated then, such as an automatic firing pin locking safety and a redesigned half-cock notch. It is a proven design and there is nothing newfangled about it. Colt Firearms had a long and profitable relationship

Browning who is often referred to as the “Father of modern firearms” was born in Ogden, Utah on January 23, 1855. The younger John Browning was well suited for his soon to be chosen field of firearms manufacturer as his father Johnathan had been a gunsmith for many years with many original firearm designs of his own. This afforded John Browning the opportunity to be exposed to the art of gunsmithing early on, and his ingenuity and God given abilities were quickly compounded by the invention of the

When Colt got back to land he went to a man named Mr. Anson Chase who was a gunsmith (Haven 14). After they came up with the idea they made their first revolver. It was a four barrel cluster revolver. The only problem was that the revolver blew up when they shot it. The reason why it blew up was there were no partitions between
The Progressive Movement, or the Progressive Era, was a time period between 1900 and 1920. This was a time of great social and economic change. In my hometown carious old Churches are now Community Centers, the old self-serve car wash is now a Dollar Tree, an old house is now a quaint Shoppe and a small restaurant, and the old grain warehouse is now my parent’s gunsmith shop and home. I believe that changes like these come from fluctuations on the population. It seems that Americans go through phases, when they are young and in their prime, they want to live in the big city, which causes a smaller towns population
