The Kyrie has been a foundational part of the church mass for hundreds of years. Many people have experienced it, lamented with it, and deliberated over its meaning. Even more so, many have used this section of mass in medleys of songs, both traditional and classical to modern and contemporary. If one takes a closer look at the music itself, they would find that this particular section of mass has adapted and changed with the times over a short few hundred years. I saw A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens on Saturday, November 9th 2013, produced by the Trinity Repertory Company at 206 Washington Street in Providence Rhode Island, performed in the Elizabeth and Malcolm Chace Theatre on opening night of the season. When she was ten she dunked "Mouse's" head in the teapot as the "Mad Hatter" in Alice and Wonderland. She was hoping to be "Alice", but even back then the eighth graders got all the good parts.
