Statement of Purpose
Security of computer systems and networking has become an issue of extreme importance due to the rapid increase in Internet usage. Making computer systems and Internet more secure for the society is the goal that I have set for myself. I have continued to make serious efforts in this direction during my undergraduate education and presently at software industry. My urge to continue my efforts aggressively propelled my interests to pursue Masters of Computer Science at the Oklahoma State University. I am confident that I have the knowledge and aptitude to contribute significantly to the research efforts at Oklahoma State University. I have discussed my career goals and research interests in this essay.
My academic performance in high school was exemplary. I was able to secure admission into one of the prestigious institutes of Andhra Pradesh, India, Sree Vidyanikethan Engineering College , Tirupati . To pursue my interest in Science, I joined as an undergraduate in Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering.
My four years of undergraduate study at Vidyanikethan was a gradual learning process. My passion and understanding in Computer Engineering was realized when I was exposed to the whole gamut of technical courses, the first of them being “Microprocessors, Programming and Interfacing” where I studied the entire family of Intel Microprocessors and particularly, the architecture of 8086. These decision makers may carry out productive methods in this sphere of economy and public administration and represent the country in a way that will facilitate its integration towards the West and globalization. My strong curiosity towards the field of Cybersecurity dates back to my pre-university days when I started reading sci-fi novels. Digital Fortress, a techno-thriller novel written by Dan Brown, explored the theme of government surveillance, security and civil liberties. This theme is brought out in the book by portraying cryptographic techniques, security policies and implications of these policies. This gravitated me towards the field of security. With little programming experience, I was eager to begin my nascent adventure in the field of Cybersecurity. Although I’ve gained exposure in the field of security during the course of my Bachelor’s degree, I believe pursuing a master’s degree in Cybersecurity will allow me to explore the field of security in greater depth and utilize it effectively to address more real-world challenges.
Privacy exist wherever personal information or other sensitive information is collected, stored, used, and finally destroyed or deleted – in digital form or otherwise. The challenge of data privacy is to use data while safe-guarding individual's privacy preferences and their personally identifiable information. The fields of computer security, data security, and information security design and utilize software, hardware, and human resources to address this issue.
I am making an application to your school for a chance to earn an MBA in Information Systems Technology so that I can be an industrious team player in the nowadays business world. Accordingly, a successful career in this course will aid me in shaping the future of associations and industries all over the world.
