Social Theories of Karl Marx and Maw Weber

There are many sociological issues in the world today that can relate back to the concept theories that Karl Marx and Max Weber formed many years ago. Although there are too many for us to go further in depth on, I chose to primarily focus on Racism and Classism. With the perspectives of these theorists in mind I can explain how Racism, Classism, in conjunction with Feminism are among the largest social problems human beings face in the world today.
Both theorists have different theories of the social concept Classism, however they are not that much different from one another. Karl Marx utilizes the term “proletariat” to refer to the "working class". Marx views the members of each class as sharing their own distinctive culture. Max Weber uses the term “class” to refer to people who share a similar level of wealth and income. Weber suggests the distinct components of stratification are class, status, and power. When he refers to “status” he is suggesting that a status is a group of people who have the same prestige or lifestyle.
Classism creates differences because “economic ownership which is based on the determinant of class relations". According to Marx the conflicts that result of these changes in Class, Gender, and Race all can be very costly and damaging to the stability of the system in which these social problems are surrounded by. We were given the idea of what the white man’s dream was in America, and that we need standard things for living. However the “white man’s dream” may not be the American Dream for all, and others may have a different definition or idea of what the American Dream or standard of living may be for them. ...still felt that this was something that the female employees were viewed as being incompetent of doing and that was why they excluded from our job description. Also I had to go on a six week maternity leave while being employed at White Castle and was promised my position when I returned, unfortunately when I returned not only were my hours cut, but I also felt like my position had been replaced with a new employee and I was being fit into the schedule.
Social problems continue to survive nationwide, Marx and Weber’s theories and perspectives of Racism, Classism, in conjunction with Feminism gives us clarity and understanding of the social problems and the history of when and how they arise. Although we aren’t able to resolve these problems and conflicts different cultures may face having clarity makes it easier for us to comprehend the concepts of them.
