Rohypnol: The Date Rape Drug

Recommended: benzodiazepine and barbiturate

Rohypnol is a very strong benzodiazepine. It is ten times more powerful then any other benzodiazepine valium, the effects are felt very fast by any user. The drug usually works on the body for up to eighteen hours or (sometimes longer). Also during that time the user will feel many symptoms and some are: Drowsiness, disoriented, and they can loss consciousness. Most people when they take Rohypnol will suffer from a form of amnesia that prohibits memory formation for as long as they have the drug in the body. Too much of rohypnol can lead to overdose. The chances of overdosing increases substantially when rohypnol is mixed with alcohol and or other drugs.

Using rohypnol can affect your self control. Rohypnol is used in “date rape” and other assaults because it is a sedative that can make you unconscious and immobilize you making it easier for people to tae advantage of others.

Not everyone uses the word Rohypnol, some of the other words that might be used to identified as roofies, the forget drug, trip-and-fall, mind-erasers and Mexican valium. The drug is usually smuggled into the United States by mail or delivery services. Rohypnol is not approved for medical use in the United States. It is widely used in other countries as a sleep aid.

Rohypnol comes in a pill or tablet form as a solution to be injected. The pill or tablet is swallowed, chewed, or put under the tongue to dissolve slowly. Less commonly, it is crushed and snorted or dissolved and injected. It is also sometimes added to marijuana and smoked. Rohypnol usually comes in doses of 1 or 2 milligrams. The affects start very quick within fifteen to twenty minutes and sometimes the effects can last anywhere between eight and eighteen hours.
