Opinions, views and emotions run high and passion is their fuel. Pro-Choice activists declare it is a woman’s right to choose what she does with her own body. The biology versus medical definitions proclaim that an embryo is not yet a human life; as conception begins two to three weeks after implantation occurs, a heartbeat is heard, and a the embryo can sustain life outside of the womb. The laws vary from state to state and in our home state of Texas political parties clash so hard the state shakes with a jolt felt across the country. Arguments weigh in from all over the globe against abortion and none more prevalent that of churches all over the world. For Pro-Life activists, there is no middle ground; human life begins at the moment of conception. Terminating that life is MURDER. Abortion: Induced termination of a pregnancy with destruction of the embryo or fetus. Any of various procedures that result in the termination of a pregnancy. Also called induced abortion. (The American Heritage Medical Dictionary). Abortion: the termination of a pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in, or closely followed by the death of the embryo or fetus (Psychology in Action 10th ed.) Abortion: the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks. (Oxford Dictionary) The mere word “abortion” is disturbing by definition, from any source. Activists spare no mercy in picketing abortion clinics and taunting women seeking abortions. Protesters carry signs with pictures of aborted babies in late stages in all the graphic detail and will even commit murder to try and stop abortions from taking place. They have bombed abortion clinics, murdered staff and physicians who work at abortion clinics wit... ... middle of paper ... ...nd “If you’re not ready to be a daddy, let someone who is.” “There are 2 million couples waiting to adopt.” In conclusion Pro-Life and Pro-Choice advocates both claim to hold the righteous claim to saving lives, to each they remain strong in their cause. America is after all, is a nation of democracy.
