The organization I work for is DBS, it is a world leader in the development and manufacture of compact, professional infra-red electronic testing tools. The company was founded in 1940, it has more than 2,000 employees around the world. DBS products are used by technicians and engineers in service, installation, maintenance, manufacturing test and quality functions in a variety of industries throughout the world. I have only worked for DBS for 4 months and I am proud to be part of the organization. The work environment is wonderful, educational and enjoyable.
Organizational Policies
In DBS, the policies are an important management tool. Policies reflect the rules that control the performance of the organization processes. Every company that my organization has around the world are subject to follow through the company policies. All employees are responsible to understand every policy no exemptions. They have to sign a document, which states that they read the companies policies, and understand that they need to follow them and will be liable if they do not.
The policies in my organization helps employees understand the expectations about the work environment, communicate standards of action and behavior as well as helping new hires get up to speed about how things work in the organization. In addition, it helps increase professionalism and efficiency in the organization as well as to protect the company from possible legal actions. The policies also help management attai...
In “They’re Watching You at Work” by Don Peck (The Atlantic, December 2013), Peck introduces the issues taking place in the employment process and its history. He gives information on the multiple factors that went into employment dating back to the 1950’s and how multiple high-ranking business are considering otherwise. Peck believes that the current employment policy is degrading to the countries “sophisticated economy”, and is highly in favor of companies that are taking a different approach.
The recommended policies must be sent to the management whether they are meeting the requirements of the organization or not. If they are not meeting the requirements they need to be modified.
Explain the implementation of policies, legislation, regulations, and codes of practice that are relevant to own workplace in health and safety.
The observation occurred in the LNC lunchroom during the second lunch of the day. I observed two groups of people in the lunchroom. The first group I observed being a group of all males seated to the right of me. The second group being a group of all females seated in the middle of the cafeteria. The method of observation I used was naturalistic observation. The naturalistic observation experience during the LNC lunch period provided further meaning about or local, national, and global community.
Mrs. Smith arrived to her appointment on time, alone, appropriately dressed, and appeared to be her stated age of 54. Throughout the testing process, she was engaged, maintained good posture, eye contact, insight, understanding, awareness of issues, and discussed topics in an open manner. In addition, she spoke with a normal tone, rate, and volume. Mrs. Smith did not exhibit any issues with her hearing, vision, motor skills, or word finding. Her mood was calm and composed, which was congruent with her affect. In addition, she exhibited a logical thought process, and did not display any signs of psychosis.
Deborah has a special way about her, she interacts well with our individuals and is able to make ordinary activities fun. She is willing to do whatever is assigned to her by supervisor or staff.
In order for a business to be successful it must have a strong policy on business ethics in place and a culture that is developed based on core values that should be clearly defined. An organization must do everything within its control to uphold promises made to employees as well as commitments to partners, such as the community where they are located. When the culture, ethics and core values are threatened it is imperative that the organization have a policy in place to address these concerns.
In all the different places I have worked there has always been a dress policy. In the Army we wore BDU’S and I always had to have my hair up. When I started working as a CNA again I had to ware a uniform “Scrubs” and there again they liked are hair to be up. I think in every job setting there should be a dress code for one it will distinguish you from everyone else and it lets the employees respect their job. Language had never been a real big problem to have to censor in the jobs that I have had. I think as an adult working in a professional setting you know what to say when you can say and where you can say it.
Chapter 5 in the class text gives imperative information about professionalism. Teachers always have to present themselves as professionals in a crucial field. In addition, there are guidelines set by the NAEYC in which teachers should follow. These guidelines include seven standards which are promote child development and learning, build family and community relationships, observe, document, and assess to support young children and families, use developmentally effective approaches to connect with children and families, use content knowledge to build meaningful curriculum, becoming a professional, practicum or field experience (Gordon & Williams-Browne, 2015). These guidelines help a teacher know what to expect when becoming a teacher and as
One of the organizations that I volunteered at for the majority amount of time was the Hands of Hope Childcare Center. This organization is nonprofit and Christian based. They service children who have been subjected to poverty and abuse. This organization also provide help to their parents by providing shelter.
My observation and interview of the position of a security monitor for the organization veterans on the rise provided me with extensive information on the duties and responsibilities of this job. The Job of a security monitor for an organization like veterans on the rise requires knowledge of modern computer technology, the ability to communicate effectively to the residents and staff, and the skills to monitor the proper function of the program and the safety of the veterans. The top priorities in this position are ensuring the protection of property, the safety of staff and residents, and the cleanliness of the facility. The beginning of a monitors day usually starts with signing in via email and in a sign in book to document the fact that the monitor has successfully arrived to the job on time and is ready to work. Then the monitor reads the log book to determine
1. Community service organizations to help build better communities through service, and citizenship. My mother is a member of an organization that provides community service in Miami-Dade County, Florida. The name of this organization is the National Council of Women (NCW). I have been a member of in NCW for one year. Although, I was not in charge of any particular special community service project, I did participate in several projects in the community outreach fair. This fair was designed to educate, provide the community with resources, and to educate the community on social and health issues. This fair took place at a community center in a low income area of Miami Florida, in Overtown. Back in the late 1940s and early 1950s Overtown was a thriving area where African-Americans owned property, businesses, hotels, restaurants, grocery stores and clothing stores. It was the only place in South Florida where African-Americans could shop, be entertained, and could find hotels/lodging for out-of-town guests in minority friendly hotels.
(In addition I would like to add to my post two of my company’s policies for some insight as to what and who all are involved in helping make policies within larger corporations. These two policies add to our thoughts as we think about the company’s responsibility when research and investigations are conducted in the facility.)
Management maintains the right to direct all business activities. In order to retain as much authority as possible in the direction of the workplace, management has sought to include certain provisions in collective bargaining agreements. Management has no rights over individual people within the organization, but does maintain rights to property, which are real and legally enforceable. Management has sole discretion and flexibility in deployment and discipline issues and maintains the right to assign measures to people within the compa...
The E-mail/Internet usage and privacy policies at my job are part of a system of written decisions established by the organization to support and to build a desire culture through managing risk, regulation, and administration. They are current regulatory policies that happen within the workplace. The written guidelines help people keep up the integrity of business organization. The policies allows the organization to limit the discretion of person; to regulated; and arrive at certain types of behavior whether behaviors are good or bad. They tell every one of the written standards of conduct that governed the company's e-mail usage, internal usage, and its privacy policies within the company. They establish responsibilities; standards of behavior; and obligation of the policies. Current laws regulating employee e-mail and Internet privacy are few because employers usae electronic surveillance.
