Humans Discover Nuclear Fission
It seems as though our fellow Earthlings deserve more credit then we
have given them in the past; they have seemingly discovered the so
called, “Nuclear Fission.” The situation on earth has not been
reported on in over a century, yet they have advanced rather rapidly;
in fact more than they can handle.
Nuclear Fission, as discovered here in Trantor, has both benefits and
drawbacks in society. However, earth is an obscure planet with
rather demanding creatures that in the past have used technology and
knowledge negatively. Within the last hundred years, this discovery
had made a rather large impact on the people of earth. Amateurs, as
they are, they have made their lives easier, yet harder with all the
unaccountable damage they have caused. Yet again, humans are
reprimanded as being irresponsible. If only they knew better.
Energy has become a difficult issue on the planet earth. Because
humans do not have magical powers like us, they have to have sources
to generate energy. The most popular sources of energy used on earth
are fossil fuels, including materials such as coal. However these
fossil fuels are said to be running out and so other sources have been
identified including solar power, wind power, and recently, nuclear
fission.
Nuclear Fission, essentially, is the process of splitting atoms with
releases of energy. An example of nuclear fission can be seen in
terms of radioactive material. When radioactive material decays,
protons and neutrons are pulled into arrangements where they are
tightly bound. At this stage, nuclear potential energy is lost, and
heat is released.. Humans have discovered that faster decay can be
produced by bombarding nuclei with other particles. An example of this
is Natural Uranium. When a neutron (The Human symbol N) strikes a
nucleus of isotope Uranium 235, the nucleus splits giving off,
simultaneously, both neutrons and energy. Furthermore, they have
picked up on the ‘Chain Reaction.” If neutrons from the fission of
one nucleus go onto split other nuclei, the number of nuclei
undergoing fission multiplies rapidly. Hence, lots of energy is
released in a sort space of time.
In certain aspects, this is a good thing. Small amounts of fuel can
provide a reasonably large amount of energy. This fuel used is rather
inexpensive and can be found worldwide....

develop peaceful applications of nuclear energy. As a result, nuclear
power reactors have been supplying energy for humans for several
decades now. Reactor accidents have changed public opinion to an
extent, and the future of nuclear energy is uncertain. Yet the energy
demand is on increase, and the public opinion may just change again.
Whatever the result of this discovery may be, let us hope that humans
will be more responsible and conscious in the future.

It’s a place everyone knows, much like the post office or even city hall. Wal-Mart. That is where the oddity lies, in the fact that a retail store is just as well known as staples for towns across the nation; not to mention the fact that Wal-Mart isn’t just in the United States, but around the world. Founder of the billion dollar industry, Sam Walton, did expect success from his endeavor, but no one could have foreseen just how influential the retail store would be. Wal-Mart is an astonishingly successful business with humble beginnings, but may have a rocky road ahead in terms of social issues due to the treatment of employees and it's strong effects on the economy.
There are several approaches to take in solving the problem of nurse fatigue. Firstly, the nurse has an obligation to not going to work if too tired. Schedules should be designed to help with this where nurses are held accountable to pick days that does not contribute to fatigue. In addition, nurses can work as a team and cover each other effectively for breaks. Nurses should be able to take stress free breaks and not have to worry that their patients will not be taken care of. Lastly nurses should be educated on sleep hygiene and the effect it has on patient
I walked into the front of the store to see a crowd of people searching for a good grocery cart. One that wouldn’t wobble every second that you pushed it. I took a look at many of the faces as they were beginning or ending their shopping experience. The people walking in looking for a cart seemed unsure or not pleased to be there in the first place. While the people leaving looked happy and eager to get home. I took this as a clear sign that this was not the most enjoyable place to ...
man, Sam not only satisfied with the present operation but also tried any possibilities to bring his business into another level, discount retailing. He eventually withdrew from Ben Franklin’s franchising and opened his own store incorporated with his new idea, Wal-Mart Discount City in Rogers, Arkansas, July 2 1962. Sam’s brilliant ideal and successful operation allows Wal-Mart expanded from one store to thirty-eight store cross-states within eight year. Wal-Mart went to public in 1970, and it became the first company to reach 1 billion within 9 years. Up to 2004 Wal-Mart has 4,906 store world-wild, and 9 billion in profit. Despite some of controversial issues about its operation approaches, Wal-Mart’s dramatic rapidly growth is phenomenal in business community, and its successful business model has been eulogized world-wild.
In the recent past, nursing has come to the forefront as a popular career amongst students across the globe. The demand for nurses has kept increasing gradually over the years. In fact, the number of registered nurses does not meet the demand of the private and public health sector. This phenomenon has resulted in a situation where the available registered nurses have to work extra hours in order to meet the patients’ needs. With this in mind, the issue of nurse fatigue has come up as a common problem in nursing. According to the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA), nurse fatigue is “a feeling of tiredness” that penetrates a persons physical, mental and emotional realms limiting their ability to function normally. Fatigue does not just involve sleepiness as has been assumed before. It involves utter exhaustion that is not easily mitigated through rest. When nurses ignore the signs of fatigue, they risk the development of chronic fatigue and other health problems that may not be easily treated. Additionally, fatigue may cause nurses to lose more time at work as they may have to be away from work for several days to treat it. The issue of nurse fatigue has permeated the nursing profession to the extent of causing errors in the work performed by nurses. Fatigue causes a decrease in a nurse’s ability to make accurate decisions for themselves and their patients. It is therefore important to find ways to curb nurse fatigue such that it is no longer a problem. Nurse fatigue is a danger to the patients, organizations and to the nurses themselves and must be mitigated adequately.
Melissa Jordine said that “1949 proved to be a pivotal year,” and she would be correct (Cold War). It was the middle of the Cold War and tensions were high between the Soviet Union and the United States. The US had consistently opposed Russia’s communist government, but had become even more vehement in their hostilities once Vladimir Lenin, the leader of the USSR, announced his intentions to overthrow capitalist systems worldwide, which included the system that the United States boasted (Cold War). The American people knew they must resist the rising power, and the only feasible option that they saw to deter Soviet aggression was to maintain military superiority, namely through the singular possession of nuclear weapons. So it came as a terrifying shock when the Soviet Union detonated their own atomic bomb on August 29, 1949, ending the United States’ “atomic monopoly” and starting a race to develop better nuclear arms (Jordine, Hydrogen Bomb). The hydrogen bomb, or H-bomb, was a product of this race, and while its creation negatively impacted the environment, it served its intended purpose in the respect that the threat of its use prevented a nuclear war and allowed for the United States to retain its capitalist government.
Muslim children face high level of discrimination at their schools as they are welcomed with negative comments about their religion by the children of other religions. Though abnormal but normally Muslim students are labeled as Terrorists and they are often verbally coerced and mocked to migrate back to their native countries. The overall conclusion can be drawn as the study that United States suffered a lot during the attacks of 9/11 but the ones who are still facing the aftermath of that incident are the Muslims around the globe and especially those present in United States. Various reasons other than 9/11 attacks behind Muslim stigmatization around globe include stereotyping against Muslims in terms of non-flexibility, uncommon culture, simple life style and aggressive behavior.
In America, there is a hatred lurking around in almost every corner of the nation; a discrimination and social bias that preys on the lives of innocent Muslims. Some people fear for their lives when they see a Muslim board a plane that they’re going to go on. Politicians are using that fear to fuel their popularity in elections. This prejudice even started to become a form of patriotism in the eyes of a concerning number of Americans. A lot of Muslims fear for their own lives in America because they are being looked down upon and even targeted by some people. This fear and hatred against these innocent Muslims are defined as Islamophobia. I believe that this amount of Islamophobia that is happening in America
Walmart has had a long-standing presence in America society since the middle of the 20th century, seen as a place to get everything done, Walmart has become a fixation in our society. From grocery shopping, to changing your oil and even filing your annual tax returns, Walmart is always there, everyday. Started by Sam Walton in 1962, it began as a small operation catering to a small Arkansas community. It was started on principles very similar to small local businesses in small towns. Today Walmart has gotten a different, darker reputation. On the surface, Walmart may seem like the solution to everyday issues. Low-income families are attracted to the low prices, and people who work odd hours benefit greatly from the 24 hours a day that many Walmarts are open. Lately, Walmart has also managed to be publicly recognized as a store that sells many of today’s green products, including organic food, environmental conscious cleaning products, as well as, paper products made from recycled paper. However, underneath all this, Walmart has a different side. Exploitation of its workers is widespread amongst Walmarts who do not belong to a union, especially in the United States. Wal...
Post September 11, 2001 the life of a Muslim woman living in America changed forever. Islamophobia is the prejudice against Islam or Muslims. Islamophobia is not a new concept it has roots hundreds of years ago, however after 9/11 it became much more prevalent in America. Following 9/11 Western media used Islam and Muslim woman who covered to inflict fear in American citizens. Western media framed Islam as a dangerous and hateful religion that needed to be stopped. At the same time the media became obsessed with Muslim woman who veiled and wanted to save these woman from their oppression. However, these articles written about the oppressed Muslim woman did not feature Muslim woman and their experiences veiling. They were not given a voice on the subject of their lives. The people writing these articles were very ethnocentric. They did not consider the religion or culture of these Muslim woman choosing to veil and the empowerment it may give some of these woman. I would like to spend time looking at Westerns media portrayal of

Today we are living the legacy of this afternoon conversation among women friends. Throughout 1998, events celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the Women's Rights Movement are looking at the massive changes these women set in motion when they daringly agreed to convene the world's first Women's Rights Convention.
On August 2nd of 1939, Famous scientist Albert Einstein sent a letter to the President of the United States, F.D. Roosevelt, regarding his thoughts on uranium and how America could use it for wartime and to tip the scale. Einstein believes the uranium can be used in bombs to take down ports and waterside targets, stating that the bombs would be too heavy for air travel. Einstein hopes to get the president onboard with his idea because of the prowess the president has to convince higher authority like congress and various government departments. Although he’s confident in the uranium's power and pros, einstein also notices the cons of the element as well.
