Brand Tracking Survey
This is a brand tracking survey that Steinlager beer might use. You
will see where you can insert your own product category and brand name.
Notice how the questions go from broad to specific. Keep that format
if you add your own questions. Keep all of these questions! Be aware
that in some situations, brand tracking may be concerned with which
products the brand reminds consumers of (when the brand is on multiple
products), instead of which brands the product reminds people of (as
we do here). Parts of this survey come from:
Keller, Kevin Lane (1998), Strategic Brand Management: Building,
Measuring, and Managing Brand Equity, New Jersey: Prentice Hall,
p382-383.
You would conduct this kind of survey by telephone or in person. The
interviewer can complete the questionnaire[1]. Alternatively, give
respondents a printed copy to complete, but save any pages that
mention the target brand until they have completed the first part.
Always begin with an introduction that tells who you are, what you are
doing and what you will ask them to do. Use one like the one provided
here.
Introduction Information for Participants
“I am conducting a short interview on consumer opinions about certain
products. This is part of my study about brands at the Waikato
Management School. I’m in Dr Carolyn Costley’s class on Brand
Strategy. The questions will take about ten minutes. You do not have
to answer them. If you do, I will combine your res...
Following the enforcement of emancipation and the passage of the thirteenth amendment in 1864, African Americans found themselves in a contradictory position of both newfound freedom and great discrimination. The newly freed slaves of America faced a society that mere years ago, considered them as nothing greater than property. During this period, two leaders of monumentally opposed schools of thought emerged in the African American community. Booker T. Washington, and William Edward Burghardt (W.E.B) Du Bois. These two thinkers were some of the most influential educators, authors, and orators of the American 19th century, and were also frequent critics of the other's methods and ideas. This was due to a sharp disagreement on the ‘right’ strategy for improving the condition of the black community. While they might not have agreed on the means, both of these remarkable men at least shared that common goal, and their efforts are best demonstrated by looking to the long standing success of institutions they founded and worked ( the Tuskegee institute and Atlanta University respectively). That being said, the diametrically opposed philosophies they supported still stand today, and each 'camp' can be identified in many contemporary debates over discrimination, society, and how to end racial and class injustice.
After 9/11 there was a great increase in security nationwide. One major example of this is the number of agencies created as a result of 9/11. Among these agencies include the creation of the TSA (Transportation Security Administration), the DHS (The Department of Homeland Security), the ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement), and lastly the massive advancement of the US Coast Guard. Every one of the budgets of these agencies has doubled since 9/11. The creation of the transportation and security administrations primary goal is to improve the safety of all American Citizens traveling by plane. The TSA started implementing, new policies and new technological advancements.
John Winthrop and Benjamin Franklin were both leaders in their time. They had very different views on common issues, which is very apparent in the works used in the document provided for this paper. The two men had differences in topics such as; logical thinking, religion, and views on government control. John Winthrop was more of a strict man who didn't see the option of questioning issue, where as Benjamin Franklin chose to have a more open mind about each issue he dealt with.
Circle five is deep down in hell and you’d think by now the souls are being tortured by demons, but wrong, circle five is only terrible because of the sinners themselves. The circle is full of the wrathful, who are using anger as a tool to disembody each other and the sullen, who are doing nothing about it but watching and crying. These souls make their own hell with their own emotions; no one is making them so mad and so sad but themselves. Virgil says in Canto VII lines 115-121, “Now see the souls of those whom anger has defeated;..underneath the water are souls who sigh and make this plain of water bubble.” Circle five is filled with its own demons, one group shrinks into the darkness with its sadness and the other group erupts into flames with its adrenaline. This circle showcases, once again, just how fair hell is. The souls don’t need someone to make their lives miserable because they already do it for themselves. God simply puts all the wrathful and sullen souls together, and these souls build their own hell and that is why the punishment is just for them because God just allows them to continue to be
John Todd and Gail Hamilton both wrote their views on women rights, both have different view points and are controversial still today. John Todd is heavily influenced by his religious beliefs and is much more conservative in his thinking. Gail Hamilton refutes Todd's views on the subject which in the time of writing was something very uncommon.
Since 9/11 there have been nine major security changes at airports. The most important changes are the liquid ban, which bans liquids more than 3.4 ounces from being on an airplane and the body-scan machines along with the enhanced pat downs. (Seaney 1)l/ The body scan machines are x-ray machines that scan the person for anything that could be used as a weapon. Enhanced pat downs are violating to some people as they do not like their private areas searched for weapons. But these pat downs are necessary to detect, find, and remove weapons that a TSA (Transportation Security Administration) agent cannot see with their own eyes. The last important change worth mentioning is that all special items including laptops, tablets, E-readers, and all electronic items have to be checked for explosives and other threats. These changes as well as other minor regulations for passengers give the TSA an extra line of defense while screening air travelers.
The United States after the Civil War was still not an entirely safe place for African-Americans, especially in the South. Many of the freedoms other Americans got to enjoy were still largely limited to African-Americans at the time. At the beginning of the 20th Century, Booker T. Washington and W.E.B. Du Bois emerged as black leaders. Their respective visions for African-American society were different however. This paper will argue that Du Bois’s vision for American, although more radical at the time, was essential in the rise of the African-American society and a precursor to the Civil Rights Movement.
Aside from using Retro and Heritage to describe an artefact the term Vintage, is also used commonly in a commercial design context; as mentioned previously in a design context we define Vintage as an item that has remained unchanged since its original production and is still in use today. A prime example Vintage in use in design is shops such as Beyond Retro, a chain of nine stores and an online e store, who stock clothing from well known brands produced in this time period that would otherwise have been discarded, the garments have simply been cleaned and sold on with no modifications making them a vintage item (Beyond Retro, 2015). Oxfam is a more well known example of selling vintage clothing with a new specialised vintage section online
In Dante’s inferno, contrapasso is known to be one of his rules that mean, laws of nature. The term is used to describe punishment that was caused by a crime or sin. Dante concept of Contrapasso is meant to show his beliefs on ethics and what sins are as they reflect political and cultural rules according to him.
Chuck Goodwin explains, “TSA, which stands for Transportation Security Administration, is an agency in the Department of Homeland Security and is responsible for screening all travelers and their luggage, as well as the screening of all air and rail transportation in the US.” Many travelers know of the them for their increased presence in all airports in the U.S and other major American airports worldwide. After the terrorist attack that took place in September 2001, President Bush and his advisors implemented The Patriot Act. Tracey DiLascio explains, “The Patriot Act is complex, but its major provisions act to improve coordination and communication between government intelligence agencies, removing unwieldy and unnecessary legal barriers between different federal offices and allowing vital investigations to proceed with greater ease and efficiency.” Their idea was to ensure that all intelligence agencies would communicate in a way that would keep America safe. “Steps to prevent events of the scale of those that took place at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon on September 11, 2001, began to fall into place almost immediately...The first outline of a proposal for what would eventually become the USA Patriot Act was drafted just days after the attacks.” (DiLascio) Due to past terrorist attacks, the TSA has implemented security measures in the airports they occupy. “Following September 11, 2001, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) was created to strengthen the security of the nation’s transportation systems and ensure the freedom of movement for people and commerce.” (TSA website) These measures include full body scanners and pat downs.
When American colonists began to vie for freedom in 1775, Benjamin Franklin had many reasons for supporting the revolution. At first, however, he made no comment on which side he supported. In truth, he was waiting to publicize his opinion until he could convert two loyalists who were very dear to him. First was his longtime friend and ally Joseph Galloway. Second was his own son, William Franklin. Ben...
The terrorist attacks on September 11, 2011 prompted the world to reevaluate and drastically modify airport and airline security. “Four targets had been chosen, all iconic American buildings that would send a clear message of the depth of their hatred for the United States. All four planes crashed, killing all on board—terrorists, crew members, and passengers, along with hundreds who were killed inside the structures, on the ground, and the men and women who ran into collapsing buildings in an effort to try and save others” (Smutz 1). As Jason Villemez said “the decade after the 9/11 attacks reshaped many facets of life in America” (Villemez 1). Before the attacks, people did not think that large scale hostility towards innocent people in our country was remotely possible. Ever since that fateful moment, citizens in America are on their toes every day worrying about another attack happening. United States citizens have had to adapt and change in response to this fear of further terrorist assault on our country. One of the ways they have adapted is by changing their means of security concerning airline travel.
Franklin was basically obsessed with the British government and their way of life. He believed the British government was a better fit and would help keep colonies and states more controlled. He tried to convince both sides to cooperate unfortunately it didn’t go as he had planned. Colonies were autonomous individuals and had autonomous land, they didn’t want to give up any of their freedom. The British government didn’t want to give up any of their power. Britain also wanted Americans to help pay war debt, in order to do this, they implemented an internal tax called the stamp act. This made Americans even more angry and they wanted complete independence. Franklin’s goal of bringing the British government to America was a fail. His goal of getting America and Britain to cooperate at all was also a fail. Franklin’s dream was
In the study of Dante’s, Inferno, one must consider the historical significance of the text to understand the allegorical nature of the poem. At the time that Dante wrote this story, he had recently been exiled from his homeland of Florence, Italy. This story was his attempt to gain fame and exact a form of written revenge on those who had wronged him. What better way to scare those that exiled him than create an actual in depth description of Hell. Dante’s Hell revolves around the concept of different circles for certain sins, with respective punishments. Jonathan Crane tells, “Dante uses allegory to relate the sinner's punishment to his sin,” (Crane).
