Abstract
It is necessary for the schools in the United States to take more action in order to keep the students safe during the day. It is obvious that schools are not safe, forcing everyone to take a part in stopping the violent behavior which takes place in schools on a daily basis. There are many warning signs and ways to prevent this violence from taking place, it is just a matter of using money more wisely and creating more programs for preventing violence before it erupts in schools. There is no excuse for students to feel unsafe in an environment which the government forces them to be in. It is necessary that more action take place and that more training take place in order for schools to be safer, and in the event where violence does occur, the staff of the school is equipped to stop it before it gets out of hand. There is no time like now to keep the children and our schools safe from predators and especially from school violence.
“Violence is the act of purposefully hurting someone. … One in twelve high schoolers is threatened or injured with a weapon each year” (Trump, 2005).
When is it necessary to start taking more action in the prevention of school violence? In less than ten years, in the United States, there have been more than twenty-five school shootings resulting in at least one death per shooting. This number is outrageous and certainly warrants more school violence prevention. It is unacceptable that the schools in the United States are not safe enough to allow children to attend without the possibility of getting seriously injured, or even killed. Most people realize that there is a slight chance of school violence everyday, but not everyone realizes how great a possibility it is for a school to be...

In conclusion, School Violence is a widespread issue that must be addressed. School shootings and bullying are some of the biggest issues in today’s school system. Many times the seed of the issue begins with bullying and ends with consequences like suicide and school shootings. They affect people as early as elementary school all the way to the college level, some even ending with death. Only together can we stop school violence if we take a stand and change the world.
There are very few people today who are unaware of the violence in schools. As college students we live in a world that is desperate to find prevention methods against violence. That makes this issue important to today's college students, considering the fact that we are the generation that could have been involved and directly effected by a school shooting like Columbine. Is this how we want our school systems to be when our children enroll?
There have been 175 school shootings in the United States since 2013 (175 School Shootings). Mass school shootings have become an immense problem in America in the past few decades. Unfortunately, there are hundreds of cases of school shootings and this is becoming a problem in society and a problem for school children and staff. There are too many people who are able to map out a plan and shoot innocent school children. Too many lives are being taken due to school shooters and America as a whole needs to come up with a plan to stop such crimes. The problem with school shootings will never be fully eradicated, however, there are measures we can take to prevent these actions by creating stricter gun laws, becoming more aware of unusual behavior, and providing better security in schools.
Gun violence in schools is a very serious problem in America. More and more shootings are occurring, and no matter what has been done to try to prevent these shootings they still occur. The current methods being utilized to prevent gun violence in schools are not very successful, because school shootings are still occurring. To better prevent gun violence in schools and in general the United States must reinforce gun knowledge, security, and the laws that are already in place.
In today’s world some students of all ages have experienced the tragedy and devastation of mass school shootings. Kids go to school in order to receive education; they shouldn’t have to worry about their safety. Today in America, there are numerous amounts of shootings that occur on school grounds. It has been recorded that “the number of school shootings in 2015 has climbed to 52, with 30 people dead and 53 others injured” (Rt.com). Schools need to step up their security and ensure the safety and well being of their student body.
Walking into school being scared of what might happen is something no student should need to think about. The things some students have to see is unthinkable. Seeing your best friend or teach die can scar a child forever. Unfortunately many students witness a school shooting and it can never leave their minds. Many students and the community do not have a sense of protection due to the lack of policies that are in place or simply because many policies are not being followed. Because of this students are stepping up. They are figuring out ways to keep themselves and their peers safe. If there is policies in place then why are some schools not following them? Why do the students have to think of plans that is the administrations job? Many reasons are unclear about why school shootings even takes place but there is examples and research to give a little insight about who and why. Past school shootings has required many new policies, most of them are not being followed because lack of funds and laziness, why are these schools not being proactive by preparing for future shootings, not being checked up on to ensure policies are being followed and how can they be prevented.
Children should feel safe going to school everyday and parents should also feel safe sending their child to school. There have been 239 school shootings since 2012. There were about 438 people shot or injured. This is not okay! Most stores have tag checkers so we don’t steal things. Schools should have metal detectors so we don’t kill one another! About a year ago there was an incident at my school. I know that I was scared and felt like school wasn’t safe but not only did I so did some of my classmates. We should not be scared to go to school! This should be a wake up call to schools!
Over the past decade years 200 victims have fallen due to school shootings. These numbers don’t even justify for the number of people killed in years prior to the 2000’s. Though these numbers don’t justify for the numbers of students injured or killed with other weapons, school safety is becoming a topic of discussion. As time goes on, people are bringing more attention to the subject of school safety. With the numerous school shootings in various states, lack of security in schools, and not enforcing rules for the students schools are becoming less safe.
Schools should implement more security training and more officers.Over the years, a handful of massacres that have come to define school shootings in this country are almost always remembered for the students and educators who have been kill in cold-blooded. Aforementioned created Death tolls that transpire so frequently that the numbers and places become permanently linked to the area that it occurred. What the media fail to capture, though, is the collateral damage of this uniquely American dilemma. The first incident of a school shooting was in Columbine in 1999, more than 187,000 students attending at least 193 elementary or middle schools have experienced a shooting on campus during school hours. Even if School shootings remain very rare, this represents a tiny fraction of the gun violence epidemic that has plagued the United States. On average, this leaves a child bleeding or in harsh conditions every hour in the United States. While few of those incidents happen on campuses, the ones that do have spread fear across the country, changing the culture of education and how kids grow up. Every day, threats sent classrooms into lockdowns that can frighten students, even when they turn out to be false
The issue of gun violence in schools is an issue that needs to be addressed. Without the proper solutions and awareness the issue will continue and be a growing problem for future generations. School shootings are occurring more and frequently in today’s society, especially in the United States (Scott Zimmer). In 2018 alone there have been 18 school shootings. That’s 18 school shootings in 96 days. That’s an average of 6 shootings in a month. That number is outrageous and unacceptable. Teachers and parents should be aware of mental health issues, bullying and prevention, stronger security regulations in schools, and factors to look for in troubled students. Awareness of these factors could be the start in the direction towards decreasing the number of school shootings that happen annually.
In recent years, tragedies have been visited upon schools across the country. From Kentucky to Oregon to Colorado, the notion of schools as safe havens has been shattered by the sound of gunfire. These acts are not limited to any geographic regions or family backgrounds, nor do they have a single catalyst. Those who have committed such heinous acts have done so for different reasons, at different times, in different schools. But these acts of school violence have at least one thing in common- they have spurred all of us to take a look at what can be done to better protect children and teachers at school. Protecting our children is not simply a matter of public policy. It is a matter of strengthening basic values, of teaching children right from wrong, of instilling in them respect for others. We each have a responsibility to work to end youth violence and to keep schools safe for children and for those who teach them. Youth violence in many schools has reached universal proportions. It is not only happening in our high schools, it has also made its way into our elementary and middle schools. Everyone seems to have a different perspective on why there is such a problem with school safety. Some say it is the parents’ fault, some say it is the media, and others blame the schools. Yet, the question still remains. What can be done to make schools safer for the children and staff? One thing we need to do is learn to listen to our children and observe their behavior. The issue of school safety has become a controversial topic in the United States, due to tragic acts of violence occurring on a daily basis. American citizens should never have to cope with the negative impact of school violence, no matter how often they hear about the tragedies (Jones, "Parents" 1). In the past, schools were viewed as a safe place for children to get an education. Recently, the concern over violence in schools has taken a toll on many parents, school administrators, and legislatures (Eckland 1). Studies have shown that there are over 3 million acts of violence in American public schools each year. Not all occurrences are serious and deadly, but they occur on a daily basis throughout our country (Jones, “School” 6). This has caused many parents to worry about the well-being of their children while they are in class. This has also led to an increase in questions and concerns by parents and guardians. Many people have asked, “What are you doing about safety and security on my child’s campus” (Schimke 2). School violence is the cause of elevated worry and fear for their children, and school districts should enforce better security.
School shootings are becoming common place in the news as school violence is on the rise. Statistics state that 31.2 percent of parents said the leading cause for choosing homeschool over public school is “concern about the environment of other schools” (Burke, 2014). According to the CDC fact sheet Understanding School Violence, 12 percent of youth in grades 9-12 report being in a physical fight on school property while 5.9 percent reported that they felt unsafe at school and did not attend. Seven percent of teachers also report that they have been threatened or injured by a student (School Violence, 2013). While only 1 percent of all youth homicides occur at schools, violence does not need to result in a fatality in order to be a concern.
Violence in schools has spread widely throughout the nation. This has caused many problems among students, families, faculty of schools, and residents of the areas. However, there are many possible ways we can stop all this violence in schools. Almost three-fourths of the United States teens are afraid of violent crime amongst their peers (Apfel 23). Violence in schools has become a big problem in todays society. With all the people being injured or killed in schools by guns and other weapons, more and more people are getting more weapons to bring in to schools. Nearly half of all males and one-third of all students including females said they could easily obtain a handgun if they wanted to (Glazer 14).
Balance sheets are very important for parties like suppliers, investors, competitors, customers, etc. to know the company’s position, company’s strength and company’s weaknesses. Balance sheets helps to ascertain the amount of capital employed in the business so that we can further calculate different types of ratios. Some important objectives of preparing balance sheets are:
