My dream career is a medical laboratory technician. I think this is the direction God has called me to go. Laboratory lab technicians do not attend medical school but they need to get an education and get certified. The main duties of medical laboratory technicians are to perform lab tests. Since they run all the laboratory tests, they help to diagnose conditions or diseases in a patient. They test many types of samples in the lab such as skin or body fluids like blood and urine. Lab techs have the responsibility to not only perform the test but to record the results and get the results where they need to be. Blood tests can indicate many different conditions such as a hormone imbalance or blood type. This is very important because if someone receives a blood type that is not compatible with their own blood, the patient could die. Skin and tissue samples can also lead to a diagnosis. They can run tests to see if a sample reacts to something or doesn’t react to something. This is how the lab tech helps to diagnose. The medical laboratory technicians are responsible for cleaning th...
My primary goal is to become a Surgical Technician/Medical Assistant. I've done tons of research on the career and I feel it best suits my interest, my work ethic and my hunger for the expansion of knowledge. I plan on attending VCU for four years, majoring in Bio-Science. After receiving my Bachelors Degree I will exercise my studies and apply them to my future career at any hospital or medical center of my choice at that moment, such as CJW Medical Center (Chippenham Campus), or St.Mary's Hospital and etc. I feel VCU has what I need to succeed because of their very proficient MCV program. Approximately nine through twelve hundred students every year graduate under a major which involved the MCV program. The environment is very positive and
I would like to be a Forensic Science Technician, simply because I find this kind of stuff interesting. A Forensic Science Technician does many things. Four things they do are run ballistics tests on guns to find the one used in a bank robbery; collect evidence from a crime scene to help understand the chain of events; match DNA samples to reunite a long lost child to his/her family; and solve a crime by matching fingerprints at the crime scene to a suspect. One of the top reasons I would join this career is because I want to be able to solve a crime if someone needs help. The second top reason I would join this career is because I watched CSI all the time before I got too busy with school, but I still watch it when I can. I think I would like this job because I always found it interesting to watch CSI and figure out how they solved the case. I also like to guess on who done what and why did they do it.
They use microscopes, computers and other hi-tech laboratory equipment to carry out a range of laboratory and scientific tests to investigate various medical conditions such as blood disorders, diabetes, cancer, hepatitis and AIDs etc.

I have dreamt of what college I would attend and what career I would choose for as long as I can remember. I can recall going back and forth between a wide variety of career paths, but I knew one thing for certain: I wanted a job in the field of healthcare. It has always been a passion of mine to want to help people and I feel that a job in this field would allow me to do just that. When I was younger, I was a strange child that was never bothered by having to go to the doctor or dentist. It actually excited me! I found myself in awe and fascinated by all of the different tools and procedures. I told myself that one day that would be me diagnosing patients and prescribing medicines. While I have strayed slightly away from that path and on
My future career goal is to become an anesthesiologist. An anesthesiologist administers an anesthetic to patients before going into surgery. They also have to keep monitor of vital life signs and make sure everything in the body is functioning properly while under the anesthetic. I think being an anesthesiologist is something I’d enjoy being because I like being in control. I like making sure people are okay and that is specifically what anesthesiologists do; they make sure the patient can’t feel any pain and is comfortable during surgery.
