Poverty is one of the biggest problems that the world faces in present time. The poverty that takes place in more underdeveloped countries such as Kenya, Africa, is majorly affecting the citizens because of the diseases that are being spread throughout the entire state, the lack of medical supplies that is needed for each doctor, and unsanitary water and a very insufficient amount of food.
The health and well being of the citizens of Kenya, Africa is horrific, many of the diseases that are spread are very severe which can sooner or later lead to death. With Kenya’s many water sources, Kenya has a high rate of water-borne diseases. Most of these water-borne diseases are not found in developed countries because of the sophisticated water systems that filter and chlorinate water to eliminate all disease carrying organisms. Bacteria and tiny worms live naturally in the water but some may be carrying diseases that can be very devastating towards humans. Many young kids from Kenya, Africa, mostly under the age of five, deaths occur due to these water-borne diseases. Every one out of five kids die because of the diseases that are carried throughout the water. Another possible way that the Kenyans get diseases are mosquito-carried diseases. Malaria spreads to about eight million people each year. Kenya has been trying to fight against malaria but they have poor knowledge of the disease and have lack of the diagnostic equipment needed for the health facilities. Most people who get this disease do not try to prevent it enough; they do not sleep under the insecticide treated bed nets which keeps the mosquitos from biting them at night. Also, women who during pregnancy do not take antimalarial drugs to help prevent the disease. Many people...

There are many problems the continent of Africa faces, for example, underdevelopment, AIDS, and a corrupt government. However, one issue that contributes to all these factors and plauges present day Africa is Poverty. Poverty is the state of being extremely poor. One of the poorest country located in Africa is Chad. Chad’s population of 11,227,208 people and an estimated 54 percent of chad’s peoples are living under the Poverty line. Many people in chad are living without clean water, food, electricity, homes, a decent education, also, medical help. Poverty in chad is very harsh and widespread.

S. involvement will drastically change the amount of deaths in poverty struck countries by providing basic care such as administering supplies. According to who.int, nearly all of these deaths are either treatable with existing medicines or preventable in the first place. Diseases such as Malaria and the Zeeka virus are easily treatable by bug spray, medicines, or mosquito nets. They can be so easily prevented with cheap resources, and keeping the citizens safe could be easy for Americans if they would be willing to take that step. According to globalissues.org, many people, most of them in tropical countries of the Third World, die of preventable and curable diseases. Simple supplies and vaccinations keep many people alive and healthy in the United States. But in third world countries, the amount of poverty causes millions to die each year of preventable
Poverty is not just an issue reserved for third world countries. Instead, poverty is a multifaceted issue that even the most developed nations must battle
The biggest challenge not only in America but in the world today is poverty. Poverty is the state of being extremely poor and being insufficient in amount. Poverty happens all over the world, and effects how many people live. According to www.globalissues.org, three billion people in the world make less than $2.50 a day. That is nothing compared to what a months rent in New York City is like. The number of people that face poverty a year is rising, and with prices of daily necessities increasing, poverty is never going to end. Two major problems of poverty are that it leads to hunger and health issues that cause death throughout the world.
Poverty can be described as many things, it can be described as hunger, lack of shelter, not having access to school, not knowing how to read and much more. Despite the definitions, one thing we know for sure is that poverty is a complex societal issue. Poverty is a large cause of social tensions and threatens to separated a nation because of the issue of inequalities, more specifically, income inequality. Poverty is a main impact of globalization, it can affect a whole nation by furthering inequalities. Overall, has affected all of developing countries and has a crucial impact on developed countries.
The country faces various health challenges including a high burden of communicable diseases (such as HIV/AIDS that is responsible for 29.3% of all deaths, malaria and Tuberculosis) and non-communicable diseases (Government of Kenya, 2011). Health services are provided by government, missionaries, ...
Poverty has been around for a long time and over time more and more sociologists have discovered reasons to why poverty exists. In developing countries, poverty features as a central issue; not only that but the world in general has a poverty problem. Almost half of the world, over three billion people, lives with less than $2.50 a day and at least 80% of humanity lives on less than $10 a day (Shah, 2013). Relating back to the question at hand, how might the poverty of low-income countries be explained from a sociology perspective? It basically asks why does poverty exist in low-income countries. One must first define poverty; poverty has changed over time. Unfortunately, poverty is essentially the lack of an acceptable amount of money to live
Africans should not blame Mr. Tony Blair, Prime Minister of Britain, The World Bank, George W. Bush, the president of the United States of America, any western developed country or the United Nations for attempting to redress through the Commission for Africa report, and decades of imbalances and injustices visited on Africans by both African rulers and their western collaborators. It is this callous and wicked conspiracy that has brought the beautiful and virgin continent on her knees, largely impoverishing its people and turned them into beggars, crying babies and laughing stocks of the global community.
Nearly 50,000 people, including 30,000 children, die each day due to poverty-related problems and preventable disease in underdeveloped Countries. That doesn’t include the other millions of people who are infected with AIDS and other incurable diseases. Especially those living in Sub-Saharan Africa (70%), or “the Third-World,” and while we fight to finish our homework, children in Africa fight to survive without food, or clean water. During the next few paragraphs I will give proof that poverty and disease are the two greatest challenges facing under developed countries.
Being able to speak about poverty we first need to understand its origin and cause. Each cause of poverty varies however they all effect people and society the same way. Studies say that there are few reasons such as population growth, corruption, etc. however the real reason still remains in the open. It has become a horrific issue all across the world. Because there are different causes of poverty each needs a specific solution. History in most countries began with the inequality based on financial wealth, very similar to today's world. Countries that experienced colonization and slavery had trouble getting of the discrimination. Poverty is defined as the lack of the minimum food and shelter necessary for maintaining life. It has become the biggest global issue because it involves a big percentage of the population.

There are many causes of poverty, starting with corruption. Corruption is a deceptive conduct by those in power who try to keep those who are in poverty trapped within their situations. When people think of corruption, they think of politics and rich leaders. Leaders from wealthy countries tell those who are already in poverty about loans and aid that they can offer. The less fortunate, not very aware of what they put themselves in are building a deeper hole with debt. The leaders from those wealthy countries are making more money also by taxing the less fortunate and receiving the money that they loaned to them. Those who are already poor try hard to provide for their families with the money they make from their jobs. Many of them lack education so it is hard to have well-paying jobs. “Poverty is the state for the majority of the world’s people and nations. Why is this? Is it enough to blame poor people for their own predicament?” (“Causes of Poverty” 5) Therefore, corruption is one cause of poverty.
The overriding challenge Uganda faces today is the curse of poverty. Poverty, ‘the lack of something”(“Poverty.”), something can be materials, knowledge, or anything one justifies as necessary to living. Associated with poverty is the question of what causes poverty and how to stop poverty? The poverty rate in Uganda has declined from the year 2002 from the year 2009, which shows the percent of residents living in poverty has decreasing. Yet, the year is 2014 and the poverty rate could have drastically changed over the course of five years. One could assume the poverty rate would continue to decrease, which would be astounding and beneficial, but does poverty ever decrease enough to an acceptable level or even nonexistence? Poverty is a complex issue that continues to puzzle people from all across the globe. Poverty could possible be a question that is never truly answered.
Poverty is one of the greatest problems facing South Africa. South African families live in very unsatisfactory conditions. The South African government works hard to bring down the rate of poverty but it also seems to increase as they try.
