There were many times in my life that I have questioned whether or not the choices I made were for the best or just ended up hurting me. I found myself saying what if I chose to ask for money instead of just taking it, or maybe I should have talked to my parents before making that decision. Changing my mind about my future career was no different.
When I was younger I always wanted to be a teacher. The first time I changed my mind I wanted to be a singer. My dream of becoming famous was short-lived because my voice is horrible. I toyed with the idea of becoming a doctor after a conversation with my father criticizing me for wanting to be a teacher. He couldn’t accept the fact that I wanted to be a teacher and not a doctor, lawyer, or a nurse. After thinking long and hard I decided that I didn’t care what he thought, and I was going to be whatever I want to be. I also thought about being a nurse when someone came up to my parents and said he thought I would make a good nurse because I kept calm and composed. In the end I decided what I really want to do is be a teacher, because that is the one thing that I know for a fact that will make me happy.
I have overcome many obstacles to get where I am and the experiences have molded me into the person that I am. Everything that has happened made me an authentic person. You must be your own person, and make your own mistakes to learn anything from life. You have to fight for what you want. I want to be a teacher so I must fight for it. In the movie, The Pursuit of Happiness, Chris Gardner is struggling to build a life for himself and his son. Chris’s determination finally pays off when he lands an unpaid internship in a brutally competitive stockbroker-training program, where only one i...

I remember a time in my life when I would always play with little children. At that point, at the age of six or seven, I decided to become a pediatrician or a kindergarten teacher. When I started high school, I started feeling stressed out because of the pressure that I was doing to myself to reach my goal of becoming a pediatrician. I could hardly focus on the topic we would have during class because I would be thinking about my future as a pediatrician. With the help of my friends, they helped me overcome the obstacles that I had. The more I thought about what profession I wanted to be, I thought about how much I loved working and dealing with computers. My friends and cousins told me that I should and can be what ever I wanted, and that helped me decide to major in computer engineering at San Jose State University. So you see when it comes down to life, dreams are not the only thing that can keep men going, friendships, pets and companionships can do the same.
Presently, I am a Special Education teacher working with children who have a wide range of learning disabilities. My goal is to help students achieve their goals by making the appropriate modification to meet their needs. These needs are not limited, but may include emotional, physical, or cognitive. To start with my interest in this field is because I feel with the proper help and assistance; students are able to achieve anything. Education is essential for everyone. Undoubtedly, the reason why pursuing a PhD is the right decision for me, is because I enjoy what I do, I believe that helping is the key, and more importantly students are in need. At this level, my ultimate goal is to help students that have a learning disability and provide them with the proper resources needed to enhance it. In addition, want to help students to conquer their obstacle and give them the motivation to strive for the best. Introduce students to an education with no limits. In general, I want to have the opportunity to see all my education, hard work, dedication, and motivation in this field, to be well payed off. Admittedly, I want the opportunity to look back at my journey and say “it was all worth it”.
“What do you want to be when you grow up?” I am asked that question frequently the older I get. I change my mind quite often, because I do not know what I want to be or what I want to do for the rest of my life. To pick a college is one thing, but to choose a career that will help you survive in this world is a much bigger step. Most of the time when people choose their profession, they end up choosing the job’s salary over the job itself. I do not want to be one of those people because I would rather choose happiness over money. Money might get you a lot of things, but it will not get you everything. I often like to acknowledge the idea nursing to whoever may ask. Obstetric nursing is something that interests me because I am making a positive
I have dreamt of what college I would attend and what career I would choose for as long as I can remember. I can recall going back and forth between a wide variety of career paths, but I knew one thing for certain: I wanted a job in the field of healthcare. It has always been a passion of mine to want to help people and I feel that a job in this field would allow me to do just that. When I was younger, I was a strange child that was never bothered by having to go to the doctor or dentist. It actually excited me! I found myself in awe and fascinated by all of the different tools and procedures. I told myself that one day that would be me diagnosing patients and prescribing medicines. While I have strayed slightly away from that path and on
About halfway through my junior year I learned that I wanted to be a Nurse Practitioner. My teacher was talking about the different levels of nursing and it just caught my eye. I knew that I wanted to be a nurse practitioner and I wanted to help a lot of people in any way that I could, and I realized that I could help more people by being a nurse practitioner than just an LPN. I set my mind to becoming on and I most definitely plan on going onto school until I reach my Nurse Practitioners, and maybe even further on. I also figured out what I wanted out of my life. I wanted to get married, build a house, and have kids, but I didn’t want to do it until after I finished school. I wanted to focus all my time on schooling then get married and have a family, because I know how hard it is to be in nursing school, and have other things outside of nursing school that you have to do as well, Another thing that I learned at MidEast was that I fell in love with nursing in
I guess I always knew I wanted to be a teacher, even when I didn’t want to admit it. I wanted to be someone different from who my parents were despite the fact that they love what they do.
When I was a young child I wanted to do things like taking control when kids were injured. I was always there helping when a classmate was injured. That’s when I knew I was going to get a career in the medical field. I talked to my parents about what I wanted to do when I was in eighth grade. I told them that I wanted to be a registered nurse and they said it was going to be very strenuous. They always told me to work hard in school and never give up on my dreams. My parents said to purse my career and anything could happen.
As I look back, I remember that as child, I dreamt of becoming a doctor. By the time I reached high school, I decided to change my decision from wanting to become
Every child thinks about what to do when they grow up, and every child changes their mind about a hundred times. I admit that I changed my mind frequently until I started high school. I wanted to be everything from a princess to a firefighter, but in high school I decided that one day I would be a teacher. I wanted to be a teacher because I think that our nation is lacking in teachers that want to teach. We have an abundance of teachers that teach because it is their job, not their passion.
A teacher is not what I have always wanted to be. As a matter of fact, it wasn't until I had taken several of my general studies classes that I made a commitment to teach. Having played football through middle school and high school, I just assumed that whatever I did would have to be related to football. It was, however, during a time of reflection that I thought about a former football coach and the rapport that he had with me and other players. He wanted to bring out the best in each of us. It was then that I realized that I wanted to do the same.
Growing up, I never really knew what I wanted to be. My dreams would change from time to time. One moment I wanted to be a singer and then an actress and then a waitress and the next I wanted to be a personal assistant. I remember for a while that was my dream to be a personal assistant. That desire stemmed from helping out at church and being a Teacher’s Assistant in school. I remember junior year of high school, when it came to the point to think about what career I wanted to pursue. I wasn’t really sure what I wanted to do. I thought I wanted to be a teacher or a nurse but realized that none of those things really interested me. I knew I wanted to do something with the medical field. And I thought to myself do I want to do something easy? Or do I want to do something that I actually enjoy? I considered becoming a phlebotomy technician or a registered nurse. But it wasn’t until my senior year of high school that I actually knew what I wanted to do.
However, I ran into a problem when I was trying to decide on what I would do in the medical field since there is such a variety of things that I could do. After a lot of thinking on that subject, I finally made the decision that I would be a pediatrician. By me becoming a

“Teaching is often a difficult process, but the end result is very rewarding. Watching a child develop confidence and seeing a student progress in their studies is a very exciting process. Teaching young children is especially great because it is setting a foundation for life-long learning.”(Chronicle guidance publications). What is teaching? A teacher is a person who provides education for pupils (children), or students (adults) using lectures, audiovisual aids, demonstrations, and computers to present academic, social, and motor skills. Teachers can also teach foreign languages, art, kids with special needs, and P.E. Teaching has changed a lot compared to the traditional methods of just lectures and textbooks. Students now are encouraged to actively learn through groups or individual projects. They have learning games, debates, and experiments to help them through the learning process. Being a teacher would be a great career for anyone who wants to further themselves, to help people, and to have great benefits (chronicle guidance publications).
