The term multi-disciplinary can be defined as the study of a single major topic with several branches of other disciplines. Nowadays, due to highly mobile and dissimilar society, profession changes are in routine. A number of studies have indicated that, after 10 years of work, perhaps as many as 80% of graduates have jobs with little or no direct relationship to their undergraduate majors [1]. Through the multidisciplinary studies program, students have the freedom to direct their studies in any one of several directions, gaining the versatility and flexibility so important in a changing environment [1]. The concept start the need is become more significant that required more knowledge together with other fields, computer competency is a common example. Students regardless of their major such as Fine Arts, Engineering, Medical, Geology, Humanities, Natural Sciences, Foreign Language, Social Sciences, Leadership and Religion must require computer skills. Similarly, different engineering majors are also combined in the execution of several projects. In this essay some of major disciplines are discussed by combining other engineering, medical and fine art disciplines to highlight the need of studying multidisciplinary with aspects of engineering field.

Creative and limitless design possibilities with breath-taking innovations will not possible without proper synchronising of different fields. Engineering is an occupation that deals with the building and designing of new or improved products. To succeed in the field you have to skills in science, math and technology. You must also be able to look at problems from a creative perspective to solve them. The unique challenge this poses is what draws me to the field.
“Multidisciplinary“ is defined by Merriam-Webster as “combining or involving more than one discipline or field of study” and lists “interdisciplinary” as a synonym.1 However, these two terms are not exactly synonymous when the Latin roots are considered. LatDict defines the prefix “multi” as a noun meaning “common herd, the many” while the preposition “inter” is defined as “between, among.”2 This small difference can change the atmosphere of health care as well as the outcomes of patient care.

When I was 13 years old my father presented a personal computer as a birthday gift to me. Having seen the profound impact which personal computers have made and witnessed its prolific growth right from my childhood, it has been a great fascination for me to study computers and related technologies. This childhood fascination made me opt for Computer Science as mainstream diploma subject. With invigorating enthusiasm throughout the course duration, I completed my diploma with a good percentage. My diploma curriculum made me gain knowledge in both computers and electronics. It has both theory and practical courses of Database Management Systems, Visual Basic .Net, Oracle 10g, PC Hardware, operating system and system programming, Software Engineering, Computer Networks, Java, Software testing and Network Security of computers and Basic Electronics, Digital Electronics, Data Communication, Microprocessor Programming, Microprocessors Interfacing Techniques of electronics. Along with computers knowledge, the practical’s of electronics labs made my study interesting. I felt that I should learn electronics and communication in deep and adding that to my knowledge.

Between 2009 and 2014 the number of Interdisciplinary Studies degrees conferred to undergraduate students increased by 37 percent (U.S. Department of Education, National Center for Education Statistics, 2016). However, despite this growth in degrees conferred, many individuals do not know what a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies entails. When some people think of a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, they think it means having a degree with more than one area of study, similar to having two minors instead of one major. However, a degree in Interdisciplinary studies is much more than having a degree with multiple areas of study. The intention of this paper is to define Interdisciplinary Studies, explain how a degree in Interdisciplinary studies can bring two unique areas of study into a cognitive area of study using a metaphor and show the benefits of obtaining a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. Further the application of a Christian worldview will be explored when integrated with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. As stated in Colossians 3:23, “whatever your task, put yourselves into it, as done for the Lord…” (New Revised Standard Version).
Throughout mankind's history, each person has contributed to their own society as well as human civilizations' advancement overall, through a specific craft. Every type of craft, or career, requires specific knowledge and abilities. One career path that people choose to follow is that of an engineer. There are many types of engineering fields to pursue, such as aerospace engineering and agricultural engineering. Another engineering profession that has recently risen to prominence is civil engineering. Unlike most career fields, engineers create physical products and offer concrete services. Without infrastructure, nations would economically fall apart and transportation related services would be impacted negatively. Individuals in the civil engineering field supervise the construction of a society's foundation and in most cases, introduce new inventions, innovations and methods. Civil Engineers not only design infrastructure, but they also design ways to connect people of all cultures.
A fascination for Science & Technology and keen interest in the ever-growing world of technology motivated me to take up engineering. The power of research and delivering it for the growth of Society is what makes me interested in the technology side of science. I choose to major Computer science Engineering with an intense urge to delve into this challenging field. During my under graduation program I learned the various fundamentals of Computer science Engineering which together with practical course works reinforced my interest.
Computers and Technology have fascinated me right from my childhood and I have always had it in my mind to choose Information Technology for my engineering.
