Gay marriage should be legal.

What would you do if you couldn’t marry the one you love? How would you feel if the person you love is in hospital and the doctor cant tell you his/her condition because you are not considered by law to be a family member. The person you have been with for most of your life that knows you the best and cant make the final decisions with your life when you leave this world. These are just few of the obstacles that gay and lesbians couples face because they don’t have the same equal rights as straight couples do. This is why gay and lesbian couples should have the same equal rights and be aloud to get married and have it be recognized in America.

America has a constitution that focuses on respecting the rights to allow people to be who they are, and to have freedom and strive for happiness. As Americans, equality is an issue that has been learned and resolved after a very long hard fight. The acceptance of the individual based on race, gender, and religion is now the status quo in America, and the sexual orientation of an individual is now equally protected from discrimination. While protected from discrimination gays are still denied the rights that they deserve under the constitution. In the United States the Constitution is the foundation of what America is built on.

Gay marriage being legalized is not only going to benefit gay and lesbian couples it will benefit American as a whole. First It will help strengthen the meaning of Equal rights in America. Second legalizing marriage will make the families with gay parents welcome and increase the stability of those families and the children involved. There are economic benefits both for gays and ...

These children are going to have to go though a lot of trouble figuring out where to go or what do if ever their gay parents where to breakup, get in trouble with the law, or in worse cases die. It not like heterosexual couples cases where the children would just handed over to the other parent . If a gay couple adopts and something happens to the parent whom the child is under as their adoptive parent then the partner does not get the automatic right to now care for that child. Now that child might end up with another relative or even back in the adoption agencies. This is causing the children to either going from two moms or two dad from now having none. People make mistakes but do you these kids really need to take double the punishment because their parents are not getting the proper rights to handle situations like this right.
