Standard 1 We downloaded "Create A Ride" from the Google store as our first app for standard one. The first ISTE standard is all about sparking creativity and students expressing themselves. In the game students will create a car and customize it the way they like, it is a great way for students to be creative and express themselves through their car. This app isn’t really educational enough to use in the classroom but i would suggest it to parents with young students. This app supports 21st century skill, because it is online and students will use phones, iPads, or computers to build and create something. CAQ (Create a Quiz/Test Maker) was our second app for standard one. In this app students can create a quiz and take it to practice lessons. This would be a great tool in the classroom that would allow students to study but be in control of their learning. At the same time as studying the students are exploring and creating new questions about the course content. In my class I would have students create a quiz and then trade with a partner and take it. Standard 2 The app “Doctor Games” is a good app to let the students experience what it is like to be a doctor and the app also provides multiple experiences to give the students a variety and to always keep them going forward in their educational goal if they choose to become a doctor or are just fascinated with it. Referring to the second standard, this app helps create an environment where their knowledge can grow through their experiences in the app. This app would be more useful in the science subject area, more specifically anatomy. In the classroom this will be used to show specific surgeries on specific body parts. The “Grid Club” app ... ... middle of paper ... ...updates regularly so there is always something new to learn. This relates to the fifth standard because it helps the educator keep up to date with the current news on technology. This could be helpful in any subject area. In class the teacher could use what he learned to create new lessons around what he or she learned. The "ClickerSchool Virtual Clicker" app is a way to connect students and teachers via smartphone, iPod, iPad, etc. These can be used for polls or games in class requiring separate remotes. Perhaps a game of Jeopardy or if the professor is giving a poll for students to complete or vote on. This is an innovative way to connect students using the things they use most in class.. Their phones/iPods. This relates to the fifth standard because it shows the technological prowess the teacher has. This could perhaps be helpful in a history or civics class.

Are you about to go into surgery? We have an app for that! There are mobile phone applications, “apps”, available for nearly every aspect of your life, including your health. There are categories specifically dedicated to medicine in Google Play and Apple’s App Store. The apps include guides to anatomy, pharmaceuticals, and patient treatment. These apps can be downloaded by anyone, but there are apps dedicated to just professionals as well. Until recently, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) restricted radiologists from using mobile devices to view patient images. However, this year the FDA made the decision to approve a new radiological app that allows physicians to make diagnoses from images on a mobile device (Bolan, n.p.). This decision is just one of many that are paving the way for more apps in medicine. Health care is at a transitional point that, in 20 years, current technologies and social media, such as mobile apps and Skype, will be the standard information-sharing platforms used routinely by medical providers and caregivers.

At the iPad center the students use a specific app that Mrs. Zeek tells them to use. I have seen the children use the apps Epic and Xtra Math. Epic is a reading app that reads stories to the child. Xtra Math is an app that allows the students to practice math skills through games. I thought it was interesting that Mrs. Zeek had a box full of laminated QR codes, one for each student, so the students can sign into Xtra Math with that. I did not even know that was possible! The children absolutely love using the iPads. Mrs. Zeek also showed me an app that she has on her iPad called Classroom, which allows her to see what all the children are doing on their individual iPads. This is a very handy app, especially for higher grades so students cannot do inappropriate things on the iPads. We talked about app selection in class and these two apps seem to meet all of the qualities such as easy navigation, student engagement, and developmental appropriateness. There is also a listening center where the children listen and follow along with books on CD or cassette tape. Mrs. Zeek lets the children start and stop the CD player on their own, but she does not let them change the
Something that majorly stood out to me that I cannot wait to implement in my class room is the use of technology with as class room dojo, go noodle, and many other apps.
...n because of the ability they present to measure student knowledge at any moment. I did not know before using the Technopedia site that there were so many different types of student response systems. I always just imagined the basic student response system with four A, B, C, and D buttons. However, the fact that you can have student response systems that allow for elaboration to open-response questions make this technological tool even more useful and effective. With so much pressure on standardized testing, this tool allows teachers to question and rank the knowledge of each individual student. Furthermore, because of the abilities of current Smartphones, the expensiveness of student response systems goes out the window in a classroom that allows cell phone use. I truly believe that both of these technologies can truly change and positively effect education.
Teachers always want to teach students in the most effective ways possible. Over time, schools have adopted technologies, believing that they help the students and the teachers. Slowly but surely, changes in classrooms have been seen, with the blackboard turning to a whiteboard and the overhead projector turning into a computer projector. This goes for public and private schools, along with colleges and universities. Sometimes, the technology is provided for students and teachers, and other times they are ...
applications have great teaching strategies and can be beneficial to children when learning and role playing.
This year Aldinville Primary, which is fourth school was joined to the project. Learners like to study through apps. The apps cause more mistakes of learners. It can encourage experimentation with the content and it is a change of lesson format. During the project MRP Foundation also help teachers. There are training sessions to improve the teachers’ technological skills and knowledge.
...and will reduce the chances of a student falling behind in the class. It gives the student access to missed class work and assignments, ultimately given the students the responsibility of their own marks. In addition, there are currently “70 percent of teens (aged 13-17)… now own smartphones” (Nielson ) and if teachers can find a way to utilize these phones in class they will be more successful in attracting their students attention. With so many teens interested in technologies, schools need to understand that student will be more drawn to methods of teaching that incorporate these technologies. Experts have also proven there is a “strong, positive relationship between students’ interest in a talent area and their assessment of their skill in that area” (Siegle) thus proving if student are given technology with in a classroom the easier the class becomes for them.
Technology has rapidly changed over the years and has expanded our infrastructure greatly. In particular, as technology advances the education system adapts to the many changes. The world of technology brings about many new improvements and shows no sign of slowing down. Many people spend their day to day lives utilizing the great aspects of technology doing almost anything imaginable. Through technology teachers and students can connect and expound upon the many fields of education. Technology is an ever growing aid in education that has increased awareness, communication, and accessibility. How is technology shaping education? The uses of mobile devices and applications have shown a great influence in the education system.
Use of modern methods does not mean discouraging old methods of learning. Technology is just more enriching the system of education. Technology is use bring new innovations in educational system. To make learners meet the challenges of new eras with more confidence.

According to The Wallace Foundation (n.d.), “It goes almost without saying that kids today are absorbed in computers, cell phones, video games, television and other media-spending an average of 7 hours and 38 minutes a day with the gadgetry.” Also, Richardson (2013) states that “it 's hard not to look at it as great news for kids, who will see growing availability of computers and access as a means to learn deeply and passionately in ways the current system of schooling was never built for.” Talking about math, Sousa (2015) said that “technology use can help students make significant gains in mathematical achievement and conceptual understanding.” (p. 130). Classroom is a new tool in Google Apps for Education that helps teachers create and organize assignments quickly, provide feedback efficiently, and easily communicate with their classes. (Google Classroom, n.d.). Students can keep track of what’s due to the Assignments page and begin working with just a click and can create presentations using Google Slides. One of the advantages is that they can work using any technology, including computers, iPad, tablets, and smartphones. Teachers can create surveys, quizzes or any assessment using Google Forms and its add-ons. Another advantage is that students and teachers can work from anyplace with Internet access. Teachers can use this platform to prepare the classes from their homes, and give real-time feedback to
