Over the past five years Americans have seen many horrific tragedies related to gun violence. Each of these terrible events has been accompanied with scrutinizing media coverage, and subsequently, a push on government level for increased gun control. On the surface these movements to take away guns from Americans may seem justified because of these events. In reality the federal government is encroaching upon our Second Amendment, the right to bear arms.
Conspiracy theorists have been around for thousands of years. In our society we are taught that those who perpetrate conspiracy theories and those who believe them are paranoid, uneducated, and most of the time psychologically impaired. Because of the derogatory nature of being involved in such a group, people that believe there are clandestine and evil workings behind the scenes have always been in the minority. However, recent controversies between the government and those who support the right to bear arms have turned the tables. A recent poll of Republicans showed that 62 percent believe that the government is secretly trying to take guns away from the public (62%). Many say that the government played a part in tragedies swaying public opinion about gun control. The extent of the connection between these events and government participation is questionable, but if you look closer at government intentions, and each of these tragic instances, it is evident that you too, will see a connection.
