In South Australia, the business hour is shorter than other places in Australia, such as Sydney and Melbourne. Some people states that the business hour is long enough to them in South Australia and extending business hour would raise social problems, such as social security and state budget. However extending business hour benefits a lot for South Australia. It can create more economic profits and is good for the whole society.
The main argument against the extending business hours that is increasing trading hours will lead to many problems, such as social security and state budget. To extend shopping hour means criminal rates would rise rapidly. The reason is that people who shop at night may be threaten by the criminals and drunkards. It considers serious for people who lives far from the shopping centre and goes home by public transport at night, especially for young ladies. To solve the problems, the government of South Australia would require more police officers to keep environment safely. Moreover, the state has to pay amount of money to train and employ more police officers. There are not sufficient state budgets to support the issue. Therefore, it is not necessary to add the business hours in the South Australia.
It is obvious that both community and the government would face the problems, particularly, those who live in poor areas. Nevertheless, the rising of tax from both companies and employees would be able to support the security problems. Additionally, extending business hours would create more job opportunities and people are able to earn more money from extra hours. Furthermore, it is possible for the government to develop the public facilities from the taxes.
Initially, from economic point of view there some advantages will be grabbed. For instances, more job options will be available. Furthermore, there is some part-time and casual job vastly vacant. Fulltime workers will also gain more money since the payment hourly. At the same way, the stores that stay up late will also get the same chances, to earn more money, as fulltime workers. The most important considerable by extending business hours, it will open a broad chance for international investors to come to South Australia. Consequently, all the matters that have mentioned above will benefit the government by earning more taxes. As the result, it will raise up living standard and better public facilities in South Australia.
This report is on the subject of the “Northbridge Curfew” policy which was implemented in Western Australia, under the Labor Government in 2003. The report will discuss a number of points, such as, what the curfew is, why it was created, and both the positive and negative reactions from the public after the curfew was put in to action. The report will also include a recommendation as to whether or not the Curfew should be extended to include areas outside of the Northbridge area.
The United State starder should not be a six hour workday. Most company jobs today are at least 8 hours minium or longer. A workday that is only 6 hours daily you earn less money and benifits. You will also end up achieving less at work then you would working a 8 hour day of work. During the Industrail Revolution workers work 11-12 hours a day so we came along way from then but to choose between 6 or 8 hours workday for me it would be 8 hours.
Shift Work: The introduction of shift work mainly depends on safety and productivity of the workers being maintained. However, evidence suggests that safety and productivity of workers may decline at night shifts with more hours on duty between breaks. The shift work system can be improved by introducing more rest breaks (Folkard & Tucker 2003).
An example of this is when a town in Kentucky pushed the start time back and noticed a 16 percent reduction in teenage car accidents (Popova, Maria). Teenagers were more alert on the road because they got to sleep in longer. Drowsy driving is a big issue in the morning and teenagers that just woke up doesn’t help that. Students who don't get enough sleep are more likely to engage in underage drinking, smoking and drugs (Wheaton, Anne G., et al.). This could lead to addictions and other health problems in the future. Not only does having later school start times improve student safety, it also will allow students to get enough
Students often are involved in after school activities which, between school and the activities they hardly have any time to do homework and study. The article “Highschool Pressure” by Rachel D. states “We result to quickly completing homework and we do not receive any educational value from it. Also, we may not have any time to study at all, which would result in a failing grade.” Second, students are pressured which can cause students to lose focus in class. The article “Highschool Pressure” also states “long school hours puts much pressure on students. We may tend to slack off which could be harmful for their education in the long run.” Third, since all classes usually take a while to start it would not harm the students learning by taking a couple of minutes off of each class. Another statement in “Highschool Pressure” is “by cutting time out of the school day, the students education level would not be hurt. The students would be able to retain the same information within an hour or half an hour.” A shortened school schedule would improve learning by giving them more time to study and complete
High School students are decreasing in standardized test scores and attendance due to lack of sleep. It has been proven by research in miscellaneous High Schools around the US that with just one hour of extra sleep student's test score increased along with their attendance records. The extra hour will also give you more time in the morning to finish homework and other things that you did not have time for the night before. However, others believe that the extra time added onto the end of the school day will interfer with afterschool activities such as sports practices and games. Schools should change to later start within the next year because it will help improve the lives of students along with their academics as well.

This is evident in Walsh Bay as it had previously changed the wharfs that were as dock and made it into apartment with the intention that high income earners would accommodate the area. This clearly displays how there were changes made to try and improve the area. Consolidation arises many issues around the Sydney Harbour foreshore as there would be an increase in noise pollution thus disturbing nearby residence and the public. Another issue which will arise is an increase in need for transport due to higher population density. The stakeholder would would be impacted by consolidation are the public, residence, business workers and also tourist. Lend lease is a project for Barangaroo and is a project in which the government wishes to change the industrial use into a residential, commercial and recreational area by creating a Barangaroo Reserve Park and build a tall building. This then limit urban sprawl. This has an impact on the economy as Lend lease was estimate to cost $6 billion according to Barangaroo Delivery Authority. There would also be a boost in economy as there would be many people and workers moving in and it is also estimated that there would be roughly 12 million visitors a year. This has a significant impact economically. Barangaroo South will allow for 3.8% more office space within the CBD, an increase of 3.5% in retail space, 2.5% in visitor accommodation and
later mornings helps woth pedestrians with walking to school, to work, and with driving. Driving at later mornings helps with seeing the road and with human beings roaming around the road and the cars they loft around in. Following with this logic, you can apply it with crime as well. Crime is a common mess that occurs in all parts of the world. Crimes usually end up being in the night when people least expect anything to happen. during the nights people are exposed to such danger that are amoungst them. Without daylight savings time the dark mornings and the early nghts can cause a great disturbance to people that are walking home from work, walking to school, walking home from school or even doing some errands that need to be done. With later starts of the mornings and the nights DST can help reduce those crime possiblilites. Furtheremore, Daylight savings time is a helpful and quite useful method that is still used today. The confusion has been decreased and a hefty amount of the U.S. has acceptedor has come to term with the method. The energy problem has been resolved by a small percent and activities have been
Which is more affective six hour work days or eight hour work days? Well simply put there are some facilities that have their employees work ten hour days and some even twelve. Why is this made to be such a large issue? All jobs have required lunch breaks.
Today, with businesses facing increasingly competitive markets and unprecedented customer demands for services, the employment of workers in shifts to cover a 24-hour day is increasing. In fact, one in five workers is hired to work outside the typical 9-to-5 time slot ("No More Nine-to-Five" 1998). Manufacturing companies have traditionally operated day and night, often to capitalize on equipment usage. However, many other types of companies are now offering their services around the clock, e.g., financial services, 24-hou...
Schools are so much a part of our society, so the accurate length of school days is extremely important. Public opinions on the length of the school days are different. There are a lot of parents and professors concerned that it is hard for children to go to school early in the morning and stay there the whole day. On the other side, some professors try to force students into a nine hour school day. Not so many years ago, school was a main part of my life, and the school days’ structure and length affected my social life and ability to study. From my own experience and some studies that I have seen, students benefit if school days are long.
Ensuring equity of acess, meeting social objectives and providing public goods.were considered the main reasons why the public sector provided goods. Why governments intervened in the market was due mainly to charactoristics of the market place. If the market place was to function efficiently, several conditions needed to exsist, including,
Going to the mall is like being at a zoo. Herds of inconsiderate teenagers crowd the walkways, girls fight over the best pair of shoes, and the merchandise is thrown all over the place. Imagine being able to have a stress free day of shopping without annoying kids running around and the ease of looking at perfect displays that have not been touched by the grimy hands of children. If you could eliminate the younger population from the mall, shopping would be much easier for everyone. Parents can enjoy their day out, girls-day won’t be interrupted by kids running a muck in the store, the employees jobs will be easier by not having to fix the displays that were messed up by children, and the amount of merchandise stolen will decrease if the younger population sticks to online shopping! Shopping
