Video games in today’s society have become very popular. Every new game that comes out to be played and conquered by the average gamer has its own category. There are several other types of genres of games that people play but because of big hit titles and the new popular game systems like the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, people become more interested in a game that is well known than a game they have never even heard of before. Every game has its own storyline and own way of how it unfolds and where the game ends according to game play. Some of the biggest reasons people sway to certain genres of games is because of the game titles released under them and the demand of people who want a good game under that category. The top three most popular genres of games played today are shooters, action/adventure, and RPG’s or role-playing games.
Shooting games, for instance, have the popular title Halo 1, 2, and 3 under their belts. Also a few other titles such as Call of Duty and Gears of War bring in a large crowd, thus creating a much larger demand. Shooting games are very different from other categories of games. They have their own storylines with their very own set of weapons, armour, gear and vehicles to choose from throughout the quests of the game. Every character in most cases will have the ability to be equipped with a certain set of clothing and whatever is wanted or needed to bring with them for the first mission as well as the many missions that lie ahead. Some items, being better than others in most cases, have to be unlocked in order for it to be equipped as progress is made throughout the game, basically like a bonus for playing the game so far in depth and doing such a good job for getting that far. Games such as Oblivion, Xenogears, and World of Warcraft are good examples of a role-playing game. Games like the ones I just mentioned give out a lot of reading that is required to do during the game. Role-playing games are more the type of game that one option chosen may lead to a different ending than another option would. These games rely on the player to determine how his or her particular character will come out at the end of the game and just exactly how good he or she will be by then.
All game genres have their own unique but distinct classification of how they are played. Having popular or big hit titles on certain gaming systems and certain genres makes all the difference of just how big that particular game or genre will become or ever be.
So we get many things in the game. And like Black Ops 2 was a shooting game. It was the #1 game back then. But Fortnite came out and took over all the games. I think the old game back then were better because they look nice and there are a lot of fun.

For me, I am a fan of single-player games with story modes because I can play by myself and go at a pace that suits me. center with the pool tables and a line of arcades in front of me. At least nine to twelve players are gathered around 2 gaming arcade machines in front of me. The two main popular ones that are of interest would be the Street Fighter 3rd Strike and the Marvel vs Capcom 2 machines. The gamers are heavily immerse in watching the players and cheering them on. I am observing four players playing on two separate machines. The two players who are on MVC2 are wearing both hooded jackets and baggy jeans with tennis shoes. It seems they were here for quite a while. Backpacks are off to the side of the machines or lying around randomly near them on the ground and some half eaten snacks can be seen on the tables nearby. A quick glance around allowed me to take in the surroundings. There are three pool table games in session occupied by two to four players per table. Three girls are having a drink to the table directly adjacent from my stool across the room. My location is near enough from the arcade machines to allow me to easily view the players and note all of what is going on and far enough to remain hidden and unsuspected of recording the scene. I am recording with my Nokia N95 with Carl Zeiss optics 5 mega pixel lens with creative sounds voice amp. I am wearing a zip up hooded jacket and some baggy cargo pants with a pair of vans allowing me to easily blend in as a normal spectator. Soon after, there are at least six to seven guys spectators for the four players. And also noted at ten minute intervals, the losers rotates out with one of the players lining up to be the new challenger of the victorious. Although the elements that created steampunk were mainly based on fashion, Rebecca Onion expanded this idea by claiming most steampunk works based on aestheticism, and a relationship of visuality between retro-Victorian style and contemporary technology (Onion 138). This relationship between style and technology helped creating a unique connection for popular entertainment of today and became intriguing for the generations of modern age. As one of the most popular ways of entertainment, video games were the most suitable choose for answering public demands and steampunk games started to be published by game developers. The children of the modern age showed their interests almost immediately and steampunk themed video games became one of the most loved genre for video game enthusiasts.
Video games are games that allows interaction with one user playing against the system or two or more players against each other on a video screen such as a TV or computer monitor. Video games are good ways to understand and master skills in the game. When comparing Madden and 2k, the two games are very similar in a way such as, they are both a physical sport. They are both controlled by a person behind an analog stick. The games have some of the similar controls. The games are very effective in our youth lives. This effect could be a good and a bad thing, because the game could keep the youth in the house and out of trouble, or it could cause damage in the long run because of the youth being in front of a Television for a long time.
Yet developers put a lot of effort into them to try and find that one mode that everyone will like. If I was to create my own video game it would have the basis of the game life, where you start as a character that you get to design and choose where and how you begin. As you play the game it would adapt to how you act in different environments and how you treat or respond to the npcs. The game would have very many different paths and depending how you choose to play would decide how you died in the end and what type of legacy you would leave. Would you be a doctor who cured cancer or a special ops solider that saved a lot of peoples lives or be a crazy leader that would try to take over the world. Now I do understand for the creation of this game would take a very long time and funding would be tough to make such a big game to be made, but if I had the resources I would make a game like this where you choose how you want it to be
Gaming provides more advantages than it does disadvantages. Playing video games is good for you. There are many game genres out there in the world, you just have to choose the right ones to benefit you. For example, if you pick a strategy game, it would help you in critical thinking and benefit you by helping to make good decisions. A great strategy game called Starcraft was inspected in an experiment. It was found that Starcraft helped increased brain flexibility. Brain flexibility is the ability to switch between tasks and look at things from a different point of view. Higher brain flexibility allows you to comprehend multiple concepts at the same time. Brain flexibility allows you to switch between thoughts based on certain conditions and helps you adjust to your situation.
