Integrity First I always strive to do the right thing even when no one is looking. This will prevent me from getting in trouble and making poor decisions that may and will affect my organization. I have seen many people in the Air Force losing ranks, money and even their families for lack of integrity. Few years ago some large corporations fail shot in this department, Enron for example. Because some individuals lack of integrity these companies suffered major losses. This could be a bog problem because greed can push people to make bad choices; this is why this value is on my number one.
Service before Self Putting your desires aside in order to put those of the organization before yours is something hard to do, but at the end both "me and the organization" are going to benefit from it. This is something that people do almost everyday in the Air Force. When people place our ambitions and desires before everything else we may get the tunnel vision and deviate from what is best for that of the organization. This is something that may have been the main or one of the problems with the executives at Enron. I think after integrity this is the second most important value to have in an organization.
Excellence in all we do
Why give a 100% when we can do better and give a 110% for the organization? I believe in doing a task right the first time with minimum errors as possible. By doing our jobs right by giving all we have to the organization will promote a better work environment and this in the end will catch the attention of potential customers. I think this value is link to the above values. I truly believe that if we do not do our job right if we do not give it all we have accidents will happen, people will get use to cutting corners and this can affect the organization as a whole. Accidents have happen and even people have died for lack of excellence in all we do. Organizations have lost big contracts too and I refuse to let my organization down.
Trustworthiness Trust is a big part of business these days. People will invest in your organization by the level of trust and confidence you give them.

The Competing Values Framework is originated by Quinn and Rohrbaugh. It emphasizes the organizational problems and choices faced by managers. The framework is divided into various managerial roles corresponding situations, as well as specific organizational environments. For instance, the facilitator and mentor roles rely on cohesion and morale to bring about human resource development within the organization. While the innovator and broker roles rely on flexibility and readiness in order to receive the growth and resource needed to perform an effective organization. The director and producer roles are more applicable for planning and goal setting skills and will result in productivity and efficiency. The monitor and coordinator roles are intended to managing information and communicating. The framework can also be divided into two main roles. The first four mentioned above are the transformational roles, and the last four are the transactional roles (Belasen, 1996). The transformational roles are more aimed toward making changes and developments, while the transactional roles have strong emphasizes on managerial authorities. The key to becoming a master manager is to be a successful manager who is able to perform each role in order to cope with all difficulties being faced as a manager (Quinn, 1988). I share one of my views on integrity with Lady Philosophy from The Consolation of Philosophy. She says that as long as we follow our philosophies and morals, everything will turn out alright. I agree—as long as we have the right morals in the first place. Without mental maturity, it is quite difficult to pick out the right moral views. Business ethics are complicated, multi-issue problems that are ever changing in our fast-paced world. It is a very complex issue entailing many things from corporate ethics to the ethics of responsibility. Whistle blowing is one result of declining corporate ethics and the decline of ethics has declining corporate ethics and the decline of ethics has led to negative impact on the environment. These complex issues must be addressed or an ever increasing basis in the future.
Values remind me of ethics and morals, necessary in any walk of life and imperative in the work place. In our day-to-day life, we are presented with different choices. Some are hassle free and are very easy to make, while others may be difficult and requires significant effort. Of all the choices offered, picking the right or the wrong one is often determined by our character, which is based upon the qualities of integrity, accountability, and reliability. For example, if I am on a baseball team and my coach cannot be at practice today. He instructs me what to do and then leaves. Rather than putting a half-hearted effort into it, I will try by best to stick to those instructions, knowing that I would be cheating myself as well as my teammates if I don’t follow them. Again, it’s the integrity that compelled me to do the right thing.
