Ang Puno't Dulo ng Pag-ibig
====================
Nakakatawa talaga ang love. Isa siyang napakalaking oxymoron. Lahat ng pwede mong masabi sa kanya, baliktarin mo man ay totoo pa rin.
Ang labo diba? Pero ang linaw.
Masaya magmahal. Malungkot magmahal. Di mo naiintindihan pero naiintindihan mo. Walang rason. Maraming rason. Di mo na kaya, pero kaya mo pa rin. Masakit magmahal. Pero okey lang. Leche, ano ba talaga?!
May kaibigan ako, sabi niya dati "Love is only for stupid people."
Now na!"
May kasama pang
William Shakespeare’s play Hamlet is the dramatic story of a son who felt betrayed by both his mother, and the woman that he loved. Written in the Elizabethan era, around 1600, “Shakespeare's focus on Hamlet's intellectual conflicts was a significant departure from contemporary revenge tragedies… which tended to dramatize violent acts graphically on stage” (Hamlet). The play depicts Hamlet, the Prince of Denmark, who it visited by the ghost of his father, King Hamlet. The ghost reveals how he was murdered by his brother Claudius, who then claimed the title of King, and married Hamlet’s mother, Gertrude. Hamlet vows to avenge his father’s untimely death. Hamlet is in love with Ophelia, but her brother, Laertes, and father, Polonius, warn her that Hamlet can never really love her. Ophelia, following her father’s wishes, is unwittingly enlisted to spy on Hamlet, which leaves him feeling betrayed. Hamlet rejects Ophelia, accidently stabs and kills Polonius, and then hides the body. Ophelia becomes so distraught over her father’s death, that she ultimately drowns herself. Hamlet is devastated when he learns of Ophelia’s death. The play culminates with a sword fight between Hamlet and Laertes. Hamlet’s mother dies from inadvertently drinking poisoned wine that was intended to kill Hamlet. Laertes and Hamlet are both stabbed with a poison-tipped sword, but before dying, Laertes confesses that Claudius was the mastermind behind everything. Hamlet forces Claudius to also drink the wine and the irony is that everyone dies in the end. One of the most controversial topics in history is the relationship between Hamlet and Ophelia. Hamlet’s letters express his sincere feelings, and reveal that he was very much in love with Ophe...
Love and affection is an indispensable part of human life. In different culture love may appear differently. In the poem “My god my lotus” lovers responded to each other differently than in the poem “Fishhawk”. Likewise, the presentation of female sexuality, gender disparity and presentation of love were shown inversely in these two poems. Some may argue that love in the past was not as same as love in present. However, we can still find some lovers who are staying with their partners just to maintain the relationship. We may also find some lovers having relationship only because of self-interest. However, a love relationship should always be out of self-interest and must be based on mutual interest. A love usually obtains its perfectness when it develops from both partners equally and with same affection.
The Definition of Love Love by definition is an emotion explored in philosophy, religion, and literature, often as either romantic love, the fraternal love of others, or the love of God based on the definition found in The Encarta Encyclopedia. As I explored the definitions through the Internet, books, and articles, I noticed the definitions changed quite a bit, but yet had the same basic understanding. The definition I found in The Encarta Encyclopedia is probably the most simple and most basic. It refers to love in the whole aspect, which is Godly, fraternal, and romantic. All of which can only be defined by one word and that is love.
Some people believe that there is no such thing as “true love” they believe that love is nothing but an illusion designed by social expectations. These people believe that love ultimately turns into pain and despair. This idea in some ways is true. Love is not eternal it will come to an end one way or another, but the aspect that separates true love from illusion, is the way love ends. “True Love” is much too powerful to be destroyed by Human imperfection; it may only be destroyed by a force equal to the power of love. Diotima believed that “Love is wanting to posses the good forever” In other words love is the desire to be immortal and the only way that we are able to obtain immortality is through reproduction, and since the act of reproduction is a form of sexual love, then sexual love is in fact a vital part of “True love”. Sexual love is not eternal. This lust for pleasure will soon fade, but the part of love that is immortal, is a plutonic love. You can relate this theory to the birth of love that Diotima talks about. She says that love was born by a mortal mother and immortal father. The mother represents the sexual love, the lust for pleasure. The father represents the plutonic love that is immortal. Plutonic love is defined as a true friendship, the purest of all relationships. A true plutonic love will never die; it transcends time, space, and even death.
“Falling in love is easy; staying in love is a challenge.” This quote, by an unknown author, is a huge part of life. Many people just want to fall in love with someone and spend the rest of their life with them. This is so much easier said than done. It’s universal to think that someone’s closest family and friends will always have their back; in reality, the biggest challenge of staying in love is overcoming what others around you believe. This idea is prominent in the classic play Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare, where Juliet is part of the Capulet family and Romeo is part of the rival family, the Montagues, as well as in the heartfelt musical West Side Story directed by Jerome Robbins and Robert Wise, with Maria a part of the Puerto Rican gang called Sharks and Tony, her love, is with the Italian gang the Jets. In both works of fiction there is a big division between two groups of people. Even though the groups may be different, both performances provide an example of how the divisions can tear apart relationships.
Do you believe that some people make time for what they want in life? Do you make time for what you want in life? Have you ever shown small gestures to show someone how much you really appreciate them? Making time for the people you care about can be hard, but when someone does put in the effort to create time for an individual, it makes a huge difference. Time can be hard to find, when you are trying to better yourself in life, but there is always another alternative to show people in your life that they are appreciated. A lot of people tend to forget how important it is to make time for love ones, that when the individual leaves, that is when they realize how important it is to make time.
I at this time would like to bring attention to another part of my philosophy – love. I recognize that an attempt to examine love is connected with a lot mystery. Love is too deep and is not measurable, and we can’t completely explore it. I think that for most people love defines personal happiness. If I do not feel loved and don’t feel care of the people close to me, I can’t be happy, no matter how success I have in my career. Speaking of love, I must say that it is closely connected with death. In my personal philosophy if people didn’t know they would die, I do not think they would be able to love so passionately. They wouldn’t be able to experience such powerful emotions and feelings without knowing that someday it would end. Love
