Perhaps the most important mental and spiritual principle ever discovered is that you become what you think about most of the time. Your outer world reflects your inner world. You can tell the inner condition of a person by looking at the outer conditions of his or her life. And it cannot be otherwise.
Your mind is extraordinarily powerful. Your thoughts control and determine almost everything that happens to you.
You are a complex bundle of thoughts, feelings, attitudes, desires, images, fears, hopes, doubts, opinions and ambitions, each of them constantly changing, sometimes from second to second. Your entire life is the result of the intertwining and interconnecting of these factors.
Your thoughts trigger images and pictures, and the emotions that go with them. These images and emotions trigger attitudes and actions. Your actions then have consequences and results that determine what happens to you.
If you think about success and confidence, you will feel strong and competent, and you will perform better at whatever you attempt. If you think about making mistakes and being embarrassed, you will perform poorly, no matter how good you really are.
Your attitudes lead to corresponding images, emotions and actions that affect your life and relationships. Your attitudes are based on your previous experiences and your basic premises about how things are supposed to be.
Your actions trigger the emotions and attitudes that go with them. By law of reversibility, you can actually act your way into feeling in a manner consistent with the action. By acting as if you were already happy, positive and confident, you soon begin to feel that way on the inside. And your actions are under your direct control, whereas your emotions are not.
The outer aspects of your life are neutral. It is the meaning that you give to them that determines your attitudes, emotions, opinions and reactions to them. If you change your thinking about a certain part of your life, you will change how you feel and behave in that area. And since only you can decide what to think, you have the ability to take complete control of your life.
The Law of Belief says: Whatever you believe, with conviction, becomes your reality.

We do not have direct control over these things since they exist outside of us. Then there are internal things that we do have control over, like out desires, or things we dislike. The internal things can be controlled, while the external can be harder to control. Automatic thoughts take place as a stream of thoughts that constantly flow through our minds as we experiences daily situations. These automatic thoughts arise in response to a situation and then lead to an emotional response. Therefore, in order to change a client’s feelings, the client must understand, identify, and modify their automatic thoughts (Seligman & Reichenberg, 2014). Intermediate beliefs consist of the rules and attitudes that shape an individual’s automatic thoughts. The core beliefs reflect the views we have of others, the future, the world, and ourselves. These core beliefs underlie automatic thoughts and usually reflect back to the intermediate belief (Seligman & Reichenberg, 2014). A client may have a positive or negative core belief, however, the negative core beliefs lead to the dysfunctional thoughts far from reality. The schema includes these core beliefs and works as a mental structure that organizes information and experiences (Seligman & Reichenberg, 2014). Schemas act as a filter as they process experiences and current info, thus shaping the client’s thinking and often time fostering cognitive errors (Knapp & Beck, 2008). Accomplishing goals and personal records is huge and leaves the brain extremely satisfied with itself. It’s another reason to get up everyday, even if school/work is stressing you out. When you see yourself constantly improving, you can’t just stop, you keep going and getting better. It’s an endless cycle of needing to improve and you gain confidence because you are doing so much better than at the beginning. The mirror is much easier to look into in the morning and you find yourself saying “hey good lookin!” All of this due to you being mentally hooked on being the best you possible.

One of the most complex relationship is the relationship between the body and the mind. There are many different ways of approaching this relationship. One way conjoin the body with the mind and the other separate them. However, If the body and the mind are one, wouldn 't a person be able to control the enzymes, proteins, fats and cardiac muscles of the body? The brain is in control directly and indirectly of these involuntary functions. However, the segregation of the brain and the mind makes the body and mind separated.
From the moment they wake up, people experience events that trigger certain emotions. How people react to these events may depend on that person feels during that event. In terms of whether our emotions control us or we control our emotions, I believe that to some extent emotions control us. Because we cannot change how we feel in response to certain stimulus, emotions control us. However, people have some control over whether or not they act on their emotions. Emotions at that given moment can influence our actions. If people can control their reactions, then to some degree we are controlling our emotions. However, the prompts raises several important questions. How can one’s emotions alter other ways of knowing such as perception or reason?
