I am very passionate about teaching young children. I uphold my personal commitment to all young children as well as their families. Being able to have the opportunity to teach them at their prime stage of learning is very fulfilling. To have the opportunity to be a person that children look up to and leave a positive impact in their lives is something I look forward to. Everyday is a learning experience for me, every child has something different to teach me as an educator. To be able to help them explore their imagination and see how they implement it in their learning journey amazes me. The satisfaction of seeing a child so eager to learn and explore new things keeps me motivated on a daily basis. Romeo and Juliet is a tragic love story written by William Shakespeare, the play is based on teenagers who fall in love with each other without thinking about the consequences that there love will have. In the play the reader will see Romeos immaturity and irrational decisions that lead to his death, also the reader sees Juliet’s immature decisions and her lack of growing up and being more mature. The outcome of the play was changed because of there irrational thinking. This essay will argue how the immaturity and naivety of the main characters lead to their downfall in the play of Romeo and Juliet.
Back in my teenage days, I was once told by my teacher saying that “I believe no one can teach you how to act, but schools do give you an environment to make mistakes, to learn techniques and to learn professionalism”. Looking back at those words really gave me the inspiration to become a professional teacher in the kindergarten to teach, to learn new things, gaining new experiences and knowledge as well as being a professional. From Roger Ebert's point of view on the movie he writes about how part 2, and the finale of this movie served as an appropriate finale reaching back to seven previous films. He talks about the characters Harry, Hermoine, and Ron growing up into more mature adult characters. The movie was like a reunion for all characters basically. He began to question the setting of the movie whether if it was really set in Britain or, either somewhere else with the exception of british actors. The movie is just based on magical romanticism where one magical creature fights for the power of another. he explains "This entiremovie is dark, gloomy and filled with shadows. So it should be. That makes it particularly inappropriate for the additional dimness of 3-D,". Every teacher has this potential whether they are aware of it or not. I have been a teacher for nine years in early childhood education and within those nine years I have become very aware of how powerful the smallest act of caring can turn a person’s life around or even just make someone’s day a little better. Being a preschool teacher has brought me great pleasure to my life simply brightening a child’s day and knowing that I am making a difference in their life. Through my journey as a teacher I have thought about how I can advance in my career field and still be active with children on a daily basis and continue making a difference in each child’s life as well as their parents. How one plans to tackle all of the challenges will help them when making decisions in the future. To many people, early childhood education is unnecessary. I realize that going into this teaching field, I will most likely have to interact with adults who will argue that it is useless. As a teacher I believe that the most effective way to teach children is teaching through play and example by using pictures and gestures. Children are motivated to learn when they have opportunities to make choices in an environment that are inspiring and stimulating. Children are interested from infancy and have a desire to learn from their environment and those around them. When children are encouraged to interact with their peers and adults in positive ways, they feel safe to explore their surroundings. There are many reasons people decide to enter the teaching field. Some enter because they enjoy working with people or children, others because they like being off during the summer months, and still others because of their love for a particular subject. Although all these reasons are valid, I feel my reasons are much simpler. The bottom line is that I love kids and enjoy working with them. My desire to make learning a more positive experience for them has only increased with time.
I have a ten year old daughter and as her first teacher, I would like her to grow up with the experience of having watched her mother obtain and achieve meaningful goals. I have achieved an Associate’s Degree at FSCJ and have taken courses in the Early Childhood Education program. I set out to achieve these goals for personal purposes, and to become an asset to both the students that I will serve and the community that I am a part of. As an education major at State College, I’ve decided to become a teacher for several reasons. As I progressed through elementary, middle, and high school, many of my teachers were great role models for me. This has inspired me to become a role model for someone in the near future. My love for science and math has also influenced my desire to teach and make a difference in a child’s life. I want to teach students the subjects that I love so much. I want the feeling that I helped a child accomplish or learn something they couldn’t understand. One of the main reasons I want to become an educator is because I feel education has really lost teachers who truly love teaching and those who truly love teaching and those who have the desire to make a difference. I feel I can really help make a difference in the education world and bring back the love to teach.
Through my own experiences, and as enforced by others' opinions in the profession, I have found that teaching is one of the most rewarding careers. Not only are you placed in the position of instructing and guiding children and young adults through the life long learning process, but you are able to give back to the schools and communities which have supported your early education and experiences that opened you up to a bright future. In becoming an educator, I hope to someday share the knowledge and lend the helping, supportive hand that I was once given, allowing students to formulate their own perspectives of the multicultural society and world around them. The first main reason that I have chosen teaching as a profession is because I believe that it’s continuous rewards will help me to lead a happy and fulfilled life. For example, teaching young children is one of the few jobs in which you can give and receive hugs on a daily basis. Children have an innocence and a passion for knowledge that I find amazing and I do not feel complete unless I am around them. Teaching will help provide this fulfillment for me every day. Also, teaching is a job in which it is ok, and even encouraged, to laugh each and every day. I feel that this is important for a person’s well-being and I think that it helps to keep people young and alive. I feel that in many other professions the day-to-day routine would become monotonous and boring, and I do not think that I would live a truly happy and fulfilled life unless I could be around children. I feel that a classroom provides many unique and dynamic opportunities every single day and I find that very appealing. Also, I am a very relationship-oriented person and I feel that I will enjoy building unique relationships with each child. I plan on knowing every child as thoroughly as possible because I feel that this will help me to be better at my job.
I am so excited about one day teaching our children. My goal is to be a positive influence on a child and I cannot imagine anything more important to do with my life than helping children. A quote from Herbert Kohl sums up my feelings of becoming an educator: “I believe the impulse to teach is fundamentally altruistic and represents a desire to share what you value and to empower others. I am not talking about the job of teaching so much as the calling to teach. Most teachers I know have felt that calling at some time in their lives.” My dream is to someday soon fulfill my calling.
Children are our future and it is up to us as educators to point them in the right direction. I always enjoyed school and found it fun and exciting. As I got older, I only remember the teacher's that made a difference in my life. I want to the teacher that makes a difference in a child's life. Whether it be as simple as a teacher, or advanced as a father-figure, I will be their for the children.
