MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE COURSE “CRITICAL READING AND WRITING IN THE DISCIPLINES FOUN 1019”
“The only place you will ever find success before work is in the dictionary”. According to Uriel Salmon. I had to learn this the hard way after coming into contact with the foundation course 1019 as this course was more than a handful. The aim of the course critical thinking and writing in the discipline was to stimulate and improve the skills of critical thinking and writing to improve our minds and enable us to think logically. My experiences with the course has helped to develop my problem solving skills and also my ability to work with peers.
I have encountered sleepless night throughout my time with the foundation course. This course has proven to be extremely challenging, because it required extensive amount of time, energy and brain power. Time, which was limited, had to be made to deal with this course as assignments were due every other week. The subject of English language was never a friend ...

Reserpine reduces the noradrenaline supplies in peripheral organs. It also reduces the cardiovascular response to sympathomimetic amines. When reserpine is taken the postganglionic sympathetic nerves are not able to transfer impulses through the neuroeffector junctions.

Imagine you are under the constant threat of being killed in a foreign terrain, and the only way you will survive is if you kill the man who is trying to kill you. Every time you sleep, you are woken up to gun shots. You are desperately seeking a safe place to set up camp, while men on the other side of a mountain are savagely trying to kill you. These are the difficult conditions the American soldiers have to live and fight in during their deployment to the Korengal Valley, in Afghanistan. Restrepo is a 2010 documentary film directed by Junger and Hetherington. It documents the relevant struggles soldiers face when dealing with the constant pressure of wartime fighting.

As I planed to take this class, I thought this course would be like all other general education courses. I believed that it would be of little use to me. However, after attending the first class, my view has changed completely. I applied each and every theory to my life.
College will require a great degree of self motivation and personal responsibility from the student. It would be great if during the primary stages of the college introduction the student took inventory of several personal traits that can impact their learning. A student should also be able to honestly assess his or her strengths and weaknesses. Awareness of shortcomings will arm the student with the ability to enhance them. Having awareness of strengths can help the student further develop their strong areas. Parallel to becoming aware of strengths and weaknesses, is becoming aware of one’s dominant style of learning. Chapter 2 introduces the concept of different learning styles, but encourages the student take personal responsibility for their education by adjusting to the env...
Up until this year, before taking the class intermediate composition, I thought I was a terrible writer. I was right. Writing isn’t something that I enjoy doing, nor am I good at. Writing is difficult for me because I’m not very good at explaining things in a professional manner, that can be easily well written. While writing you are expected to make little to no mistakes, which is not something I’m great at. I am so much better at explaining things with verbal words rather than written words. I had not taken any extra writing classes before this year rather than the mandatory ones. Like I had stated before, I hate writing, with a passion. I dread writing anything, especially an essay for school, like this one. I’m
Initial Reflective Essay When I first thought of what I wanted to do with my life after college, the first thing I thought of was helping people. The next step in deciding what I wanted to do with my life was to examine how I could accomplish this goal. I started pondering and I was thinking about how much I love to take care of my body. Health care and personal hygiene has always been an important factor in my life. So I decided to major in Health Sciences.
Over the course of the semester, I feel that I have grown as a writer in many ways. When I came into the class, there were skills I had that I already excelled at. During my time in class, I have come to improve on those skills even more. Before I took this class I didn’t even realise what I was good at. This is the first class where I felt I received feedback on my writing that helped me to actually review my work in see what areas I lacked in and where I succeeded. Some of the skills I had shocked me as I didn’t think I had those capabilities in me.
Reframing or reconstructing your mind, is when you just change everything about the way you think. Most people only think about their views, how they see the world, how they will react to certain things if they were to occur. NLP is all about changing this. After drowning yourself in NLP books and readings, you will realize this. It opens your eyes to another world. It helps you become more susceptible to others ideas, feelings and emotions throughout a conversation. It gives you the ability to analyse conversations and respond to them accordingly, so that people hear what they want to hear, whether you mean it or not, which is a good thing and a bad thing. It is good because it can help you get out of tough situations in a conversation. However,
The course also challenged me and allowed me to think critically. Whenever I am faced with an issue I know that I should take steps to formulate an opinion. It’s always good to ask questions to clarify anything. Once all the facts are established, I know that I should assess them. Finally I am able to assert a carefully thought out opinion (3). After taking these steps can be sure my opinion is right and not just for me personally, but regarding others too.
Although the philosophical concept of dispositif is applicable to any social structure, the terminology has been widely adopted by film scholarship, beginning in the mid-1970s, with theorist Louis Baudry. A dispositif can be described as the product of heterogeneous elements in relation to one another, which have a specific effect of subjectification on an entire social body. In 1975, theorist Louis Baudry specifically coined the concept of cinematographic angle for dispositif, based on features that were also used to constitute apparatus theory. Apparatus theory refers to the passive experience a viewer undergoes when watching a film under specific conditions, including the darkened theatre space, technology, placement of the projector and

The actions I have taken in researching and developing my skills to this point have had an incredible effect on my perspective of what my future holds, be it in the workforce or in the company I have been developing throughout this course. This has included reflecting on what I want my company to become, what risks I’m willing to take, the amount of time and energy required to construct it successfully, the financial investment required, and weighing what options I am giving up to pursue this course over other options. Furthermore, I have also been working on developing my writing skills when it comes to the company’s mission, vision, and core value statements realizing this will help focus not only myself, but the direction I will take the
