There are many breeds of rabbits that can become good pets after the owner-to-be learns the rabbit “language” and way of care. The American Rabbit Breeders Association recognizes 47 breeds.1 On one site there was a list of around 128, but not all are recognized even by the British Rabbit Council.2 The New Zealand White is an albino rabbit that was breed in America for its coat. Albinism limits the coloring that goes to the hair, skin, and eyes. This is why these rabbits have red/pink eyes. These rabbits also have poor vision.3 The New Zealand White is characterized by its dense fur, ears that stand up, and muscular body. It weighs from 9-12 lbs. This rabbit is calm, friendly and not really aggressive. It is also fairly easy to teach tricks to them.4 The Mini Satin became the 47th breed in 2006. It has a round body covered in soft fur crowned with ears that stand up. These rabbits grow to be 3 ¼ to 4 ¾ lbs. They are calm and sociable, but also are timid and stressable. They will live 5-10 years if they are properly taken care off.5 There are five colors that are recognized by the ARBA. These are the red chinchilla, opal, Siamese, and white. There are also black, blue, chocolate, copper, gold-tipped, black steel, Himalayan, otter and silver marten.6 Rabbits have there own special way of speaking. They leap, kick and twist around displaying their joy by what we call binking. Flopping around and grinding their teeth are two ways they show contentment. Teeth grinding can also show pain. Pain is louder and the rabbit will be tense. If a rabbit want to claim something as his, he will rub his chin on that object. If he wants ones attention he will nudge with his nose or dig at ones leg. When a rabbit thumps, they are warning o... ... middle of paper ... ...ing.” My House Rabbit. In the rabbits, the invaders come to take over the land that did not belong to them to use it for there own use. A very similar theme is in avatar, the humans only come to Pandora to mine a very rare rock that is worth a lot of money. The humans have no appreciation or tolerance for the natives and their cultural. In the book there a large uses of size and position to show the power of the white man with his guns and machines as opposed to the Aboriginals with just their spears to protect them. The illustrator chooses to use a double page spread to construct a picture of the British ship arriving at the beginning of the story. He exaggerates the size of the ship and the white rabbits in uniform to show how they overpower the tiny numbat creatures on the shore which have been made to look tiny in comparison. This exaggeration gives the viewer an idea of how powerless and terrified the natives must have felt to see the first white men invade their

are always “bad” and these rabbits can have nothing to do with them. The exact definition of the word prejudice in the dictionary is - strictly defined, a preformed and unsubstantiated judgment or opinion about an individual or a group, either favorable or unfavorable in nature. In modern usage, however, the term most often denotes an unfavorable or hostile attitude toward other people based on their membership in another social or ethnic group. The distinguishing characteristic of a prejudice is that it relies on stereotypes (oversimplified generalizations) about the group against which the prejudice is directed. This is exactly what the rabbits were. It’s a hostile attitude relying on stereotypes based on their membership in another group, any other animal besides rabbits, being the other group in our novel. This is the “barrier” or “belief” that was broken by Hazel. He strongly believed that if you gave the other animals a chance, they might be able to prove themselves not to ...
Rabbit shows us that we have to live with our mistakes, that we can't just act like they never happened. Rabbit tries to run, but he can't. He reminds us that people don't just forget and move on.
The color white appeared many times throughout the book. It is used in the first chapter by Nick when he sees Daisy and Jordan in East Egg. “They were both in white and their dresses were rippling and fluttering as if they had just been blown back in after a short flight around the house.” (Pg. 8) In this passage, white is used to describe Daisy’s and Jordan’s innocence and purity. However, in page 24 the real characteristics of Daisy are revealed, “Our white girlhood was passed together there our beautiful white”, this tells us that when Daisy was younger she was innocent, but now she has changed.
The comparison between rabbits and other animals as being pets keep reappearing within the two different texts. Adams portrays the rabbits as more sociable animals, unlike cats and dogs that are often used as pets by humans. According to Adams, rabbits apparently intermingle with other rabbits "not for talking's sake," instead they:
In the Sandleford warren, political power and authority are given to a rabbit based upon physical strength. Rabbits that are large and strong will eventually join the Owsla, a group of rabbits that act as the police and the government, while those who are rather weak and small in size can only dream of joining the Owsla (Adams 5-6). For example, Hazel and Fiver, two of the main characters, are quite different. Fiver is weak and puny which means he will never join the Owsla, but Hazel on the other hand has some weight coming and will be inducted into the Owsla when he matures (Adams 6). All of the rabbits living in Sandleford are content with their lives, not sad but not happy. The coordination of the Sandleford warren is not the worst in the book, but it could be operated significantly better by introducing democracy in the Owsla. The way that the Sandleford warren is run is most comparable to an oligarchy, since rabbits that will be strong are the ones that receive political power and

The common name of a current invasive species found in California is the European Rabbit. The scientific name is the Oryctolagus cuniculus. European rabbits are grayish brown with commixed ebony, brown and reddish hairs on its back, light brown to beige fur on its underside, a beige ring around its eyes, and long ebony-tipped ears. It ranges from 13.5 to 20 inches (34-50 cm) in length and has a diminutive bushy tail that is 1.5 to 3.75 inches(4-8 cm) long. It ranges in weight from 2.25 to 5.5 lbs (1-2.5 kg), so it's a deceptively diminutive and cuddly-looking rabbit. The European rabbit looks homogeneous to a rodent in many ways. In addition, it genuinely belongs to the order of lagomorphs, along with hares and pikas. European
Jane goes to work everyday at an animal-testing lab. She pours liquids used in eyeliner into the eyes of numerous albino rabbits. The rabbits' eyes are held open with clips so that for the 72 hour test period, the rabbits can't even blink. The rabbits' bodies are in a box so that only their head protrudes. Jane watches the rabbits and records how the rabbits’ eyes react. She observes as the rabbits’ eyes bleed intensely. Some eyes become extremely deteriorated, and some rabbits even become blind due to the toxicity of the liquid being tested. As she walks down the line writing down what each rabbit's reaction is, Jane notices many rabbits have broken their own necks trying to escape the horrendous pain ("Product...").
he PMG animal that I chose was a Mini Rex rabbit, I chose a rabbit because is my favorite animal, and also because when I was little I used to have a lot of rabbits in my house, and I chose this kind of breed because I went to like a big sell of animals and the coat of this rabbit caught my attention a lot. This Code of Care is going to be about how to treat a rabbit and also give some tips of how to treat them. The Mini Rex rabbit is a very cute animal because of its coat, the amount of energy they have, and the size of their body. They tend to be very curious sometimes, and funny too. They like to run a lot and to jump too like I said they have a lot of energy. That’s why they need to be feeded properly based on their weight and height based on this website - https://www.pethealthandcare.com/rabbit-breed/mini-rex.html- “ A mini rex rabbits diet consists of fresh hay, fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh clean water and good quality rabbit pellets.” Rabbits can eat, fresh fruits, leafy greens, and vegetables including carrots, watercress, lettuce celery, mango, pear, peach, and more.
