Drive, will- power, creativity, independent, self confident, dedication, perseverance, and goal oriented. These words are some of the characteristics that describe a successful business. A business needs drive to continue to strive and focus on the business even during the hardest of times. A good business needs will-power to do what is in the best interest of the business even if running the business is not enjoyable anymore. Creativity is definitely a key factor because with creativity to make the business unique, the business is just like any other corner shop, and will not get the desired attention from the consumer. Creativity is also very important for marketing strategies. For example, America is on a low carb craze which has the potential to cause problems if Krispy Kreme does not have a creative plan to keep them profitable. Success entrepreneurs are independent. They tend not to rely on other people to make decisions for them. They want to make their own decisions and do something they enjoy. Self confidence is another key factor. If a business owner is not confident in them self, it will be extremely have to be confident in the success of a business. They must also have the confidence to bounce back for a poorly made decision. Dedication may be the most important characteristic. In order to make the business a success and for the business to have continued successful the owner must be dedicated. For example, if the owner of the business is not dedicated to his work; the employees will not be dedicated. The work will not be done to its full capability. The customers will not enjoy shopping with the company which will result in loss of profit. The business continues to lose revenue, and ultimately it will have to shut down. Business owners must also have perseverance. They need to be able to persist through hard times until goals are met. Lastly, the successful business owner must be goal oriented. To ensure success entrepreneurs must set high standard but maintain realistic goals for the business. They must know what it is they want to see happen with their business and continue to be focus to make sure it happens. All of these characteristics are extremely important in franchising the business. Krispy Kreme seems to have all of the listed characteristics which attributes to their continued success.

According to the annual report, the revenue last year was the highest ever if Krispy Kreme continues on this pattern there will be nothing but success in the future. However, I am concerned with the low carb craze and the effects it has had on Krispy Kreme. Of course fried bread, glazed or filled may be delicious but not healthy for consumers. If the low carb craze is just a phase I predict much continued success for Krispy Kreme. However, if it’s not just a phase and enough people are really ready, willing and able to change their lifestyles and eating habits, Krispy Kreme has to come up with a new idea quickly but a fad like this does have the potential to destroy the doughnut shop.

Krispy Kreme Case Study Question 1. The chief element of Krispy Kreme's strategy is to deliver a better doughnut and to appeal to customers in new ways. They have taken great steps to insure customer satisfaction from the use of their proprietary flour recipe to their automated doughnut making machines. They have chosen to target mainly markets with 100,000 households. They also were exploring smaller-sized stores for secondary markets.
Disney has portrayed women in movies by the use of animation characters for over a century since the 1900s. There has been a very big change since the early 1900’s to modern day in Disney’s depiction of the personalities of the women, their attitudes and ideologies towards men, and the way they are portrayed in the movies. This progression has had a distinct development, from passive damsels in distress in need of the help of men, to being superheroes. Therefore, the evolution of women in Disney movies will be analyzed through the use of university level feminist essays, as well as a research paper written about gender roles in Disney animation. The evolution will also be analyzed through examination of the clips of the movies themselves.

Disney is one of the largest corporations in the world, known for entertaining and having a dominant role in children’s media for over 60 years and counting (Towbin, Haddock, Zimmerman, Lund & Tanner, 2003). The purpose of this study is to analyze Disney animated films according to gender roles and gender role portrayals. Research shows that Disney animated films have highly portrayed traditionally feminine and masculine characteristics (England, Descartes and Meek, 2011). The focus of this paper is to discuss the stereotypical representation of gender role portrayal between the men and women in Disney animated films. Scholars have suggested that in Disney animated films women are portrayed as being domestic, nurturing, wanting to marry, helpless and in need of protection (Towbin, Haddock, Zimmerman, Lund & Tanner, 2003). However, men are portrayed as having a non- domestic job, use physical anger as a mean to express emotion, are naturally physically strong and are very heroic (Towbin, Haddock, Zimmerman, Lund & Tanner, 2003). My first hypothesis is whether in Disney animated films, men are playing traditional roles and women are playing traditional roles. My third second is whether stereotypical gender role portrayal in Disney animated films will become less traditionally characterized as society progressed to let go of traditional gender roles.
Gender in mass media has a stereotypical yet influential role towards teens. Teenagers use social media diverse methods depending on their gender. Males and females not only use the media for networking, but also for reasons that aren’t so stereotypical. Girls and boys compared by underrepresentation and overrepresentation regarding media. A primary way in which media distort reality is in underrepresenting women. As said by Julia T. Wood, “this constant distortion tempts us to believe that there really are more men than women and, further, that men are the cultural standard. In general, media continue to present both women and men in stereotyped ways that limit our perceptions of human possibilities.” As media change our lives, the ways they misrepresent genders may distort how we see ourselves and what we perceive as normal and desirable for men and women.
It is shocking to see the digression in humanity’s morals and values over the past decade. As cliché as it sounds, the media is the center of it all. The way women are being represented, from our television sets, the radio, pornography and even art has pushed beauty to the top of the list of controversial and widely debated topics around the globe. “Whenever we walk down the street, watch TV, open a magazine or enter an art gallery, we are faced with images of femininity,” (Watson and Martin).
