What is your favorite animal? I love all animals, but my first preference for an animal is a horse! There are lots of breeds of horses in the world! Did you realize that horses are used for a number of things?
Horses are used for lots of things! One thing they are used for today is competing. Whether you are competing in horse sports or just competing to have fun. Another thing horses are used for today is pleasure riding. When I say pleasure riding I mean just going on a ride with your friends or just taking a break from whatever else you’re doing. In the past people used horses for pleasure riding, like we do today. We do not use them for farming as much as the people in the past did. Back when we didn’t have all the ostentatious technology for our armies to use, we used war horses. One thing that is identical between today and the past is using horses a lot, as they did in the past.
Some people wonder how long a horse’s life span is. Each horses life span may vary according to their breed. The most common lifespan is up to 25 to 33 years. Some breeds of horses that live the longest are the Thoroughbreds, Quarter Horses, Warm bloods, Morgans, and Arabians. It can also depend on their health. If they are not healthy or have a disease of some sort then they could die. You should take good care of your horse, so that it can have a longer lifespan.
Have you ever taken care of a horse? It takes a lot of work to take care of a horse. Just like you and me horses need vaccines, but they need them on a regular basis. Similar to all the other animals horses need to have veterinary treatment. They also require extra things like cleaning their feet. You have to do that on a six to eight week basis. If you have a ...

Although horse assisted therapy is growing in popularity and supporters, there are those that present valid surface-level arguments against it. The most obvious and basic drawback to an equine aid is the accessibility. Horses are large animals that cannot be easily brought to a patient, unlike other smaller and more popular therapy animals, like dogs (Fundukian). A patient in most situations must be brought to the horse in order to participate in the therapy, and for those with severe impairments this may be too great of a challenge. However, although it is true, the accessibility of horses is an issue, it could easily be solved if the therapy received more support. More centers, closer and with methods specifically designed to make the therapy
The first horses were forced to hang in slings under the deck of ships all the way across the sea to the New World. The explorers brought only the toughest and best horses to the New World. They were bringing so many horses that soon the Spanish Government restricted how many horses could be brought to the New World. There were already enough horses in Cuba, Puerto Rico, and Santa Domings to start breeding farms. Soon after the farms were established, they started on the main land, and that is where the mustangs got their start.
Horses are the most noticeable symbol in the whole book. Horses are a necessity to the boys. The horses are political and economic assets to Grady, Rawlins and Blevins. Specifically for John Grady, horses are more important to him than humans. He constantly dreams of him running with horses and always thinks about them. To Grady horses are like a way to distract him from all his problems and give him a sense of freedom because he does not have to worry about all the stress, problems, and people. Grady relates humans and horses stating that horses are superior to the human race. "Finally he said that among men there was no such communion as among horses and the notion that men can be understood at all was probably an illusion." (Page 111) Grady has a passion for horses. He tells the horses everything like his life story, his thoughts, and secrets. Since Grady does not trust humans he turns to the horses as an output. Grady’s love for horses reveals more about Grady himself. It makes Grady seem like a fairly lonely person because he only trusts horses and prefers horses over humans.

In 1997, when Michigan native Jo Anne Normile's children left home, she found herself looking for something to do with her free time. The kids had always been interested in horses; Normile decided to get involved herself. She leased a broodmare for one dollar, picked out a stallion and was soon in the racing business. A hands-on owner, Normile found herself constantly at the track. One day, a trainer asked her to look at a horse he needed to sell- gorgeous, sound and tall, but not fast enough to race. Normile couldn't buy a third horse, but took it upon herself to contact several of the barns she knew from her children's participation in equine sports to see if she could find someone who could. Normile now realized that there was a need for
Mostly docile and predictable, unless she has a foal by her side, is the "mare," An Anglo-Saxon word for horses in general was "mearh," and the feminine of this was "mere." Therefore, we now use the word "mare," meaning and adult female horse.
With over nine million types of horses in the United States, the need for quality health care for the horses has never been stronger. It’s certain that more equine veterinarians than ever before will be needed in the years to come to provide the care that owners want for their horses. According to the American Association of equine practitioners (AAEP), nearly half of the equine veterinarians are involved with performance horses(44.8%). The AVMA’S most recent employment survey of 2016 indicated that there were about 3,874 veterinarians in exclusively equine practice, with and additional 4,177 involved in mixed practices.
Winston S. Churchill once said, “There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man.” Horses are used for many recreational activities, but horses can also be used to help people with disabilities. Equine assisted therapy helps improve the condition of adults and teens that have problems and disorders.

Animals were selected for their instincts and range of natural skills. They showed courage even in extreme conditions. One animal that played a big part in WWI was the horse. Walters were sturdy, robust horses that could travel a long way in extreme conditions with minimal water. Sometimes they waited up to 60 hours without water while caring loads of 130kg.
By the production of the Unbranded film, there is visual proof that wild horses can be made useful. In reality, wild horses are extremely tough. Think about it, they have learned to survive on their own out in the wild in the harshest weather, toughest terrain, and in dangerous situations. Joe Camp author of The Soul of a Horse, does an excellent job of guiding readers through how to put their domesticated horses back into a lifestyle that they are familiar with. So what’s wrong with them? The answer that they can’t be trained is invalid. Wild horses can be trained like any other horse that needs to be broken, it just has to be done right and with time. Yes, it will take time to break a wild horse, just like it takes time to break any horse, but the results are worth
Some people think of them as animals. Some people think of them as objects. Some people think of them as friends. Then there are the few who think of them as family.
