The City of Karachi in Pakistan
The biggest city of Pakistan, Karachi is the center of education and visual scencnary of different land marks. It’s located in the most southern tip of the country. Karachi has a reputation of having wonderful houses and big restaurants. The main focus of the city is religious education in terms of schooling and implementing religious values in the heart of people.
Karachi has many religious schools known as madrasas and over three young boys ranging from ages 5 to 20 studies and memorizes the scriptures of the holy Quran. The main goal of the people is to educate the younger ones to become religious scholars. The people of Karachi look to religion as the main pillar in their lives and worth to make the country more ethical. The city Karachi also attracts other students of madrasas from different countries.
When one approaches the city of Karachi already the signs of religion are displayed. The people are mostly poor but there is a substantial amount who are rich and who give to others. The people who inhabit the city mostly focus on religious means and the poor one rely on begging for money and the only source of survival.
The physical composition of Karachi is very beautiful. There are many areas that are completely clean and I have personally been there seven years ago. I saw many big building and beautiful restaurants. There is, however many other places in Karachi which have poverty and are not stable. Karachi for the most part is poor but the rich do care and give back to the less needy ones.

This trip changed my life and I started to take values that other people hold which are somewhat similar to make and at times different. Karachi is a city that contains religious education and beautiful buildings which illustrates the beauty of the city in many ways.
In conclusion Karachi is a city that focuses on religions education. Religion is a main pillar in the lives of people. Greg Mortenson is a truly influential person. He has built over 120 schools in central Asia. Mortenson believes that the real long term answer to terrorism “lies in education rather than fighting” (402). He has won multiple Pakistani humanitarian awards and has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize two years in a row (Mortenson and Relin, 127). Mortenson built his first school in 1994 in a Pakistani village called Korphe. Korphe is situated at the base of K2, the world’s second highest mountain. Mortenson stumbled upon this tiny village after a failed attempt to climb the peak in honor of his late sister Christa. (Mortenson and Relin, 136). Since building the school in Korphe, Mortenson has built multiple schools around Pakistan and Afghanistan. His focus is on educating girls about the world around them. By building schools in third world countries, Greg Mortenson is impeding terrorism.
Pakistani citizens have chosen to be part of a democratic government which puts forth the safety of its citizen first. Lahore has been “traditional capital of Punjab for a thousand years” and as being the cultural hub has acted as a magnet to the artists, craftsmen and performers. Lahore has stood against oppression by religious fanaticism and has been compared to London for being the hub of educational institutions and liberal arts and literature. But today the vigour of the city is slowly fading away. Thus it has become ever so important for planners to fight to regain the public realm and protect the future from negative impacts of fighting an internal threat.
“I am Malala” by Malala Yousafzai is a beautiful and hard breaking book at the same time. This book is an autobiography that describes the author childhood and her support on the right for girls to have an education. Through this autobiography, Malala describes the restrictions that are imposed on females in her country. There are many that believe that woman of Pakistan should not be educated in the other hands there are a few that oppose this idea. Malala’s support on education for girls almost cost her life, since she was shot by the Taliban. National unity and ideology are the major political concerns in post colonial societies, that is why they used to apply assimilation strategy. This strategy is applied by the dominant groups. These groups might not hesitate to use state force in their own favour. So the state’s policies favour the powerful and dominant group. Pakistan is also one of the examples of plural societies. Here the state used to adopt assimilation policies to create national unity. Resultantly, the state has lost its Eastern Part. Still, various ethnic groups off and on show their resentment and different ethno nationalist movements are in the struggle to preserve identity. Malala Yousafzai grew up in Mingora, Pakistan, where she attended a school that her father had founded.
