I am pursuing a degree for different reasons. I attended community college for one semester after I graduated high school. At that point in time I wasn’t interested in going to college to better my life. I honestly went to school at my mother’s suggestion, and because I wasn’t ready to work full time. I realize now, looking back, at the opportunities I missed because I wasn’t interested. Now that I have begun a career in the retail industry, I know that isn’t the life I want forever. I enjoy working with my hands and my mind in order to make something, in essence, beautiful. I want to have a happy and fulfilling career, not a dead end job. I know the “normal classroom” isn’t for me, and I want to learn a trade, which led me to ITT Tech.
The most important goal I currently have is to go to school and find a career that will enrich my life. For me, this is a now or never situation. I wasn’t happy in the path I was on, and I finally took the leap to make a change. In my opinion, networking is a field that is only going to grow. I have selected this as a goal because it is important for me to become a person who fulfills their dreams, and I’m proud that I have done this on my own. My next long-term goal is to buy a home of my own. I recall how fulfilled my mother felt when she bought her first home, and she cried tears of joy. At a very early age I have wanted to have things of my own, from toys to my own vehicle. I began working in high school because I knew in order to have things I had to work for them. For me, these two goals go hand in hand, and in order to have my very own home, I have to succeed in school to get there. In today’s world you almost have to have a degree to find a successful job.
For this class, my first goal i...

...me stray from the goals I have set for my future. I have told myself that it must be extreme circumstances in order to slow down. Though the goals would remain the same, the process would change. The impossible for me would be taking a break from school due to illness or if it became necessary to return to work.
In order to reach this goal, I need a strong support system. In the moments that I feel like giving up, I know I need someone behind me, pushing me along. My mother and my partner are doing a great job at keeping me motivated. I am here now in part to them, because they gave my full support from the beginning. As long as I stay faithful to my goals, apply myself, and maintain this support behind me, I know I will beat the odds. I will have the career and life I have dreamed of and longed for. People can only find success if they put what they must into it.
... front of me since the road to success is far away. Facing unknown obstacles is like drowning in water because obstacles are weighted heavily and sometimes I can't lift it. I just have to use my strength and hopefully, I can raise it off me. I learned that sometimes it is better to have a little false hope than to have none. Perseverance doesn’t not come naturally to all people but eventually it will come because they will find it. It helps them find their inner self by going through obstacles so that they can be more of a life challenge. I believe that this can change a person who they are because it is something everyone needs to go through life.
I do appreciate the fact I am earning my education, but I also take it seriously and put forth an effort to pass my classes. I also chose a major that went with my background and I could expand on with technology in future degrees. I set a short time and longtime goal for myself to accomplish, and I constantly update my productive social media reputation builder/new age resume as often as I can with credited information about my experience with
Going to college gives students the chance to step out of their comfort zone, try new things, and discover who they are while pursuing a degree that may, or may not, interest them. In today’s world if a student drops out of college society assumes they are unintelligent, while in reality they could have come to the realization that being amazing at a trade job is better than being mediocre at a desk job. There has to be a way for students to want to finish college and find what they are learning interesting. If something doesn’t change, the system of postsecondary education will become a thing of the
Attendance at a technical college or local 2-year school was deplorably referenced to as “loser’s territory” and if you dared to enroll in one anyway and followed through to graduation, well you were congratulated but to a lackluster fanfare. Some community college graduates still receive this reception upon exit of a community college but attitudes are definitely changing. Today more than ever, degree-seeking individuals are paving the path to their careers through the entrance and exit doors of community colleges. These well-informed leaders of the new school have realized a smarter way to education; that a bachelor’s degree or taking a traditional route to obtain one is not necessarily the best or right way to be a successful and employable member of society.
Noted authors, Brandon Chambers, is quoted saying, “If you are going to fear anything fear success. Think about what you are doing and when you succeed what life you will have.” There are several different reasons why I could stay home, work and not go to college; I could go to work every day and make more money for the house, it’s easier, and I would be less stressed. Now, on the other hand there are many reasons why I should go to school; such as further my education, make my family proud, and make myself proud. I am attending college for several different reasons. One reason is to further my education. I hate feeling like I don’t know something, I like being the person everyone comes to for information. Also, because I want to be better prepared for my major, I want to be better then the next person with the job credentials. I want to major in Social Work and Criminology. I dream to be a counselor or an clinical service social worker. I want to help people who need someone there for them someone who can guide them or even just talk too. Another reason is because I would be the first in I would be the first in my family to go to college. I feel in some type of way I am setting an example for my parents and my brother that they too can go back to school. Lastly is simply because I love school. I love knowing more and more each day. College is not for everyone, but I will be successful by grasping the benefits, preparing for the problems, taking heed from experts, and working on strategies to be successful.
I decided I wanted to be a business major since I was in middle school. Ever since I was young my family would push me to do good in life and explain on how life isn’t easy without a degree. Since my parents didn’t reach high school I would be the first one to get a degree in my family. My aunt and uncle got their degree and were the ones to inspire me to continue my education. When I started highschool, I still had the mindset to pursue a business degree until junior year I took a business class which I disliked because it was a program that was taken online.
The next set of goal setting importance is my personal goals with the first being to over come the obstacles associated with returning to school.
One primary long term goals that I have set for myself since freshman year was getting the best grades in high school and college to my own abilities. The way I reach this goal is that I use my time wisely in study halls or at home to get homework done. I work extremely hard in study halls to get as much homework done as I can because the less I take home the better because there are other things at home that I could be doing. Another one of my long term goals is going to college for something i 'll enjoy doing for the rest of the life. If I go to college to find a career that is not enjoyable than it could miserable going to work everyday. If you find a job that you enjoy you’ll never have to work a day in your life. I also try to set
My goal is the final destination of my financial success. It is to be able to pay bills without worry, be free of debt, have enough money for my kids to go to colleges and help other people with my financial resources.
My long-term personal goal is to be at a place where I am genuinely happy with myself and my life and not allowing others and their opinions on me or what I have done or am doing in life to
As an adult, I have numerous personal goals. Most importantly, I would like to own a home. Also, I would like to pursue my interests of water-sports by owning a boat and my long love of cars by owning a sports car. Other personal interests that will affect my years after college are my love for the outdoors and the thrill of traveling to many new places throughout the world.
My goal is to go to college and then have a career. It 's a goal that probably a lot of people have,
In order to make my dreams and goals become a reality, I have realized that there are many obstacles to overcome and skills ...
Two years ago, I just desired to get a degree, the institution did not matter. Over my time attending Henry Ford College I realized the opportunity I had passed up, I hoped for it to not be too late, that the feeling in my chest would go away. It was a great experience, the instructors, the joy of being involved with other peers were all exciting aspects of the college. But over time deep down I knew that this institution would not lead me too greatness, it would not push me too what I strive to become. The college does not have the resources to provide students relative experience to their respective fields when they move onto their next ventures.
Secondly, I would want to maintain a good relationship with those who surround me(,) by doing so my future would benefit because I would have support and advice from the people who love me the most. My next goal is to help my community by helping stray animals that have no where to go(.) to be able to reach this i would need to funraise as well as be financially available(.) i would need help from other people who have the same dream i do. FInally(,) the fifth goal is to be active i would like to have my own gymnastics/ dance company(.) i loved doing this when I was younger and i would invite children from public schools to have this after school
