“Prince among slaves” is a powerful monograph with a wonderful writing and an interesting book to read for any age. It is a great monograph of an African prince who eventually becamea salve in the America in late 1700’s. Although it is good, and an interesting material to read by the author of this book, Alford evoke his readers in order to make the audience busy in his wonderful wiring.
He was born in 1762, in Africa lived his first 26 years in the kingdom of Futa Jallon in
Western Africa, he served as a military commander in his father’s army. His full name was Abdul Rahman Ibrahima Sori and he was the Son of the king. He received university education in Timbuktu. He also became a warrior in his father’s army. When he was seventeen
Abdul Rahman returned back to Timbo, and entered to the army.
He successfully became a commander in few years. He was a royal prince in Africa.
On the time, he met an American person for the very first time whose name was John Coates
Cox, he was an Irish surgeon and Ibrahima found him ill and saw he got bitten by so many ants.
So he bought Cox to his house for the treatment.

Ibrahima brought him to the Sori. Ibrahima took really good care of him and in some months, he regained his health back and got in a good shape. And after thanking Ibrahima and his father Sori, Cox returned to Ireland. This time of the period Abdul Ibrahima also had a son. After three months he left Timbo as a commander. Ibrahima along with 160 other men marched on the river. They went to begin the long journey they went down to the Gambia river and across the Atlantic Ocean.
Everything was just going fine when in the 1788, he felt down when he was defeated in battle by a rival tribe, and he was sadly sold as a sla...

In this book everything is defined so nicely that you can imagine your life there and see Ibrahima fighting for his freedom. This book is wonderful the only thing is that it is a little hard to understand because of the vocabulary used in it. But overall it is a great book. Students should read this book and understand how tough and hard the slavery can be. How difficult it is to live in that situation.
In conclusion this book is amazing and would love to read this type of stories again because it makes the material more interesting to read. It is fun too in order to read. Alford the author of this book put a great and extraordinary effort to make this book more readable especially for the students. Overall this monograph is interesting and everyone should read this once, it is awesome.
