When looking into society once can be influenced by a number of issues. These issues can include art. Art is work that is put together by an individual. It is a true creative act that is used as a form of expression from the artist. Art is inspiring and can influence a society. Art work is seen through acting, music, and pictures.
Firstly, one can see art through acting. Acting is a performance in which one disguises themselves and become a different individual. Acting is an expression of oneself. This act can be seen in plays, on Television and in movies. Acting is important to a society for it provides an escape route as well as a form of entertainment. Without acting there would be more boredom. Many rely on going to plays as well as watching television. Without these forms of art, it would be difficult for one to stay entertained. Acting is a form of art that is important to a society.
Secondly, music is a form of art. Song writers and singers use their talent to make music. Music is in spring and can influence others. Music can be seen as a form of entertainment also. It is constantly being played on the radio as well as clubs and concerts. Many listen to music to become entertained. For some, listening to an inspired song can effect their views, can also influence into reaching goals. Music is a well known form of art.
Lastly, art can be seen in art galleries. Some forms of art that are usually seen are sculptures, paintings, and also photographs. All these forms are made uniquely and by persons. It is the fact that it is made by thought and made by a person that is called art. Sculptures of people and objects can be inspiring and educational to many. Paintings and photographs can contrast a mood in which can inspire a person. These forms of art are very important to society. If there were no galleries nor any forms of art than this world would be plain. Art forms surround society making it a more interesting, creative place.
Art can bee seen in many places, it is everywhere one turns; billboards, houses, business buildings, outside.
It is art fulfilling its role in society. It is art that brings the moral issues. It is art that makes us human.
If I were to ask you what is art, and how can one find it? What would you say? Well if it were me being asked those question, I would simply say that art to me is a form of a picture; a visual painting or model of some design and it could be found all among us. You may define it differently only because art could be defined in many ways. I could simply say that art to me is a form of a picture; a visual painting or model of some design. Well according to an article written by Shelley Esaak, an art history expert she mentioned that art has a way of stimulating different parts of our brains to make us laugh or incite us to riot, with a whole gamut of emotions in between. She also mentioned that art gives us a way to be creative and express ourselves. [1]
The most readily apparent similarity between the two is that both render their captive immobile; the bird and the African- American are confined. Beyond this immobility, more telling commonalities appear vis-à-vis the nature of the captives. Dunbar’s captive is the bird, and the nature of a bird is to fly. While the bird retains its intrinsic ability to fly – its aerodynamic anatomy remains – the surrounding cage prevents it from externalizing its intrinsic inclination. Hence, the bird’s anguish follows from the suppression of its natural tendency.
For example Louis Creed’s vision of his recently departed patient Victor Pasco standing beside him is very similar to Victor Frankenstein’s first encounter with the creature he created. For example in Pet Sematary King states, “Then the moon sailed out from behind a cloud, flooding the room with cold white light, and he saw Victor Pascow standing in the doorway. The crash had been Victor Pascow throwing open the door. He stood there with his head grotesquely bashed in behind the left temple. The blood had dried on his face in maroon stripes like Indian war paint. His collarbone jutted whitely. He was grinning” (King 89). This explains how Louis Creed had a vision of Victor Pascow and somewhat gives readers a feeling that he feels very guilty which compares to Victor Frankenstein in Frankenstein. In chapter five of Frankenstein we get a very similar scene but instead with Victor Frankenstein and his creature which states, “I started from my sleep with horror; a cold dew covered my forehead, my teeth chattered, and every limb became convulsed: when, by the dim and yellow light of the moon, as it forced its way through the window shutters, I beheld the wretch – the miserable monster whom I had created. He held up the curtain of the bed; and his eyes, if eyes they may be called, were fixed on me. His jaws opened, and he muttered some inarticulate sounds, while a grin wrinkled his cheeks” (Shelly 59). Victor is not only feeling guilty but quite terrified when he finishes creating the monster. Victor Frankenstein’s scene with the monster standing over his bed and Louis Creed’s vision of Victor Pascow standing in the doorway makes each character realize that there is destruction and chaos waiting for
In Homer's epic The Odyssey, the hero Odysseus attempts to complete his journey home from Troy. On his way home, however, he angers the sea god, Posiedon, who curses him to travel for ten years on the sea, to loose all his men, and to return on a stranger's ship. During the ten years, Odysseus overcomes many hardships, and visits unique destinations in the world along the way. Each place has several symbolic meanings and themes that are found even in today's society. During his journey, Odysseus will attempt to find his place in the world and make a name for himself, make difficult leadership decisions pertaining to his men, and tries to overcome the natural curiosity and greed that is in man's mental makeup.
What is art? Art is the self-expression of someone of something that shows the hidden or underlying emotions that are found within the unconscious mind. Art has been around for centuries (“Merriam-Webster”). Normally, art would tell stories of past events which were significant to that culture. This could include things such as hunts and sacrifices to please the gods. As people and humanity started to evolve and become more civilized, art started to transform and take on a new appearance as well. From being a story prop to something that is more abstract; art started to become more and more important in the lives of people. During the renaissance in Europe, many new artists and ways of thinking emerged and became the main-stream way of thinking. Many of those artist are household names such as Vincent Van Gogh and Leonardo da Vinci . They transformed art from what it was to how we see it today (Belliveau). Jumping forward from the renaissance to the 1960’s, you have artists emerge such as Andy Warhol and Jackson Pollok. They pushed the boundaries of art and how it was perceived in society (American Art Therapy Association).
Each year 30,000 deaths are caused by guns (Goldberg). Guns are a huge issue in the United States because something so dangerous is also an American pass time. Guns are used for hunting and protection. However, certain guns are not actually needed for hunting or protection. By adding more regulations to guns, it can make gun ownership safer. Contrary to what many believe, gun regulation doesn’t mean getting rid of all the guns in the United States, but by making
Art, what is Art? It is an ambiguous matter: without an exact form, an exact meaning. Does it have any rules or restrictions? However, it can be a great influence on the lives of people. In the novel, The Picture of Dorian Gray, two lovers have fell in and out of love due to Art!
Being treated equally, and having equal rights, as others, was a constant struggle during the 18 and 1900’s for people of color. There was no valid reason as of why they were being oppressed, resulting in riots, battling for justice. In”Caged Bird,” a poem by Maya Angelou, she creates a scene in which one bird is free, soaring wherever the bird wishes, happily. Whie another bird is caged, miserable, with clipped wing, tied up. In addition, written in “Sympathy,” by Paul Laurence Dunbar, another highly meaningful poem, there is a single bird, that also is trapped, crying out for help due to it feeling depressed, and constantly beating itself up. Although, the bird in “Sympathy” and “Caged Bird” can both symbolize a variety of things, depending
Art is something that is created with imagination and skill and that is beautiful or that expresses important ideas or feelings. Art can also be expressed in emotions and how that person really feels. When artist start to paint or draw they have to have the skills by experience and observe what they are looking at before they start making art. There are so many famous artists that have created beautiful art such as a really famous man named Claude Monet. Claude Monet was a very famous French painter who was born on November 14, 1840 and had died on December 5, 1926.
Art in its broader meaning, however, involves both skill and creative imagination in a musical, literary, visual, or performance context. Art provides the person or people who produce it and the community that observes it with an experience that might be aesthetic, emotional, intellectual, or a combination of these qualities.
“...I know why the caged bird sings, ah me, When his wing is bruised and his bosom sore,- When he beats his bars and would be free; It is not a carol of joy or glee, But a prayer that he sends from his heart's deep core, But a plea, that upward to Heaven he flings- I know why the caged bird sings!” ―Paul Laurence Dunbar” like how birds are caged they were not given the freedom like how a black man is longing for freedom in a racist white society. He starts off describing the pure and good of this universe the nature of our sun and the grass that waves in the wind and the river that flows, but he is that bird in that cage viewing the world but not experiencing the good parts, because he was taken that freedom and looked upon as an animal. As the poem goes on its his own pain suffering and trapped from what he longs for, he beats his wings he wishes so badly to be free the way a bird would feel locked up. As he beats the bars mad hating life left with bruises, he sings to the heavens getting his joy and glee. His prayers and seeing a view of the universe that no white man could at the time. that keeps him humble to understand the little things that aren't so little after all. He knows the feeling of the bird in that cage who sings because he is that black man in society who prays. Paul Laurence Dunbar is remembered for his Writing career, Works of poetry and Legacy and honors.
What is art? It is an expression of human emotions and creativity. This can be through varies forms such as writings, sculptures, and paintings. Although, not everything is considered art. There is a defining line between what is art and what is not. For it to be art, it must go through three steps. They are: thought process of the artist, artists process of construction, self-evaluation, and critical reception. Which, are all art forms within themselves.
..., they improve social skills as well as one’s social image, and they improve one’s psychological health (Why Art Matters, 1). The arts also increase one’s perception and appreciation for life and the things in it (Why Art Matters, 1). Art is all around us everywhere we go and everywhere we look. It helps us understand where we are, where we are going, and how we get there. The preservation of history greatly relies on art to hold images, sounds, writing, and all sorts of other stuff form the past, so I guess you could say that recorded history is art (Social Impact of Art, 8). It helps get rid of multiracial and multicultural boundaries creating connections between people from all around the globe (How Art Impacts Society, 6). The arts, as well as the artist, are very important in today’s society and needs to be appreciated for what it is and what it’s done for us.
Throughout the ages art has played a crucial role in life. Art is universal and because art is everywhere, we experience it on a daily basis. From the houses we live in (architecture) to the movies we see (theatre) to the books that we read (literature). Even in ancient culture art has played a crucial role. In prehistoric times cave dwellers drew on the wall of caves to record history. In biblical times paintings recorded the life and death of Christ. Throughout time art has recorded history. Most art is created for a specific reason or purpose, it has a way of expressing ideas and beliefs, and it can record the experiences of all people.
