A zoologist is constantly surrounded by animals and is able to have an ever-changing work environment where they have new tasks to perform daily. Zoologist get to study how animals interact with others and their environment, and have a different job everyday. Many people who want to be a zoologist have characteristics that include a love of animals, and doing well in their science and math classes. This career isn’t just fieldwork, zoologist will also have to work in laboratories and conduct studies about animals and factors that affect them. To be a zoologist students need a bachelor’s degree in a biological science, and a master’s or doctoral degree is almost necessary to get a higher position (“A Day in the Life”). It is also very beneficial, if a student pursuing this type of job, does well in their biology and mathematics classes because these courses will be a key element in this occupation.
