Recommended: The walking dead show analysis

All living organisms contain the will to stay alive, not because it’s in our DNA, but because that’s the way we are raised. We are dependent on this will to survive, whether that be through an apocalypse, a life-or-death situation, or perhaps a tragic death in the family. This will to succeed inspires movies and television shows such as, The Walking Dead; a popular TV show which follows a group of survivors who attempt to survive through what is known in pop culture as a “zombie apocalypse”. The group, led by Rick Grimes, loses many people, most due to the fact they did not have the strength to do what had to be done in order to survive, i.e., having to brutally murder others that they are threatened by, just so their own band of survivors

No matter what has happened, they all had the will to overpower the traumatic experience and decide and act upon their decisions. Along the same lines, in the movie, Castaway, Chuck Noland also demonstrates that survival is what influence one’s decisions.
