Introduction Just think for a minute if all restaurants in the United States were all American. This means no Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese, Mexican and so on flavors of foods. The amount of choices would be reduced greatly and honestly; most Americans would probably not eat out as often as we do. Without offering different foods from international businesses, the United States and other countries would struggle financially; and ultimately would lose money daily. International trade has been around since America was founded, while back then it was about trading, spices and weapons in exchange for people, today international trade is more about commodities without exchange for people. While exporting is the least amount of risk; there is drawbacks as the company works with agents to get their product to customers. Exporting a product also has the lowest risk in regards to capital investing (Rajagopal, 2009). Choosing the country is just as important as selecting the correct entry strategy. While Zipcar has been successful in the U.S. and other countries, failing to study the market, could cause them to implement their exit strategy very quickly if they choose to expand in the wrong nation. Ultimately, Zipcar needs to market their rental car program in a country where there is very limited amount of parking and in very populated communities within the country, and provide Zipcar with a strong populated market to continue their …show more content…
While Zipcar would need to do their research first, to make sure they were not purchasing an auto rental car company who defrauded their customers, as this type of behavior would be detrimental to Zipcar. However, if there was an auto rental company struggling financially, Zipcar could be their savior and prevent them for bankruptcy. This could be beneficial for Zipcar if the fleet of vehicles were still all in good condition as they could save initial capital costs. Additionally, Zipcar could purchase the different location the rental car company already owns and eliminate the costs associated with construction of different rental locations, while being able to secure wash facilities to detail their cars so their clients are always renting a clean fresh smelling
In this chapter of Naked Economics, by Charles Wheelan, he describes many aspects of trade. It begins by showing the capabilities of trade and how it affects everyone as a whole. It makes it so that everyone is better off than normal. To put it into perspective, he put the image in your head of how hard your life would be without trade, you would have to make your own clothes, find a way to get/make your own food, make your own car, etc... After showing some of the advantages to trade, he applies it to a global persona and begins to introduce his opinion on how global trade (globalization) makes us richer. One of the key explanations of this point is that trade frees up time in our busy schedule, therefore allowing us to use that freed up

Trade, of course, is only part of a larger network of relationships between our two countries. This network evolves in response to many complex influences, and exporters need to consider how our two countries' ever-expanding, ever-changing relationships will affect their activities. To take just a few examples:

The American life has been transformed by the fast food industry not just changing the American diet but also the culture, workplace, economy, and the landscape. “Today about half of the money used to buy food is spent at restaurants-mainly fast food restaurants.” (Schlosser) This could be due to the fact that about two-thirds of working women are mothers. The impact of fast food on the American culture is transparent when just looking at McDonald’s. McDonald’s has become the world’s most famous brand; the golden arches are more known than the Christian cross. “A survey of American schoolchildren found that 96 percent could identify Ronald McDonald.” (Schlosser) McDonald’s is responsible for 90 percent of new jobs in The United States. The landscape has changed due to the fast food ...
(May, Kuklina, Yoon). The food that they provide is made to be eaten quickly, causing problems for the digestive system. Also, the health problems lead to the use of health insurance, which adds to the costs of Medicare. Health care costs will only worsen in an already failing economy. Therefore, the government should regulate fast food restaurants in the United States in order to repair the deteriorating health and economy in America.

Food is traditionally considered as a simple means of subsistence but has developed to become filled with cultural, psychological, religious, and emotional significance. Consequently, food is currently used as a means of defining shared identities and symbolizes religious and group customs. In the early 17th and 18th centuries, this mere means of subsistence was considered as a class maker but developed to become a symbol of national identity in the 19th centuries. In the United States, food has been influenced by various cultures such as Native American, Latin America, and Asian cultures. Consequently, Americans have constantly Americanized the foods of different cultures to become American foods. The process on how Americans have Americanized different cultures’ foods and reasons for the Americanization is an important topic of discussion.

Global trade occurs between many nations. While the intent of free trade is just that for trade to occur freely without government intervention in the open market. The truth is that governments do intervene in free trade imposing many sanctions, tariffs, quotas and other economic policies to limit free trade. To better regulate governments role in free trade a General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) was created in 1947 (Carbaugh, 2011, p. 191). GATT helped trade by having all nations, included in the original group, trade on mutually beneficial policies. GATT has since been replaced by the World Trade Organization (WTO) that still honors many policies of GATT that now includes 153 nations that is inclusive of 97% of all world trade.
The United States of America, a country where anyone can become anything he or she wants to be. It is even given the phrase “Land of opportunity.” This is one of the reasons people from different parts of the world choose to immigrate to the United States. Immigrants do not immigrate alone, but bring their cultures with them. One of the representatives of culture is food, and with the vast amount of immigrants, the vast amount of ethnic restaurants are introduced. Beneficial things happened with the rise of ethnic restaurants, they serve as a doorway to introduce different cultures and they improve the country’s economy. Some people disagree and believe that ethnic restaurants are a problem. That they lead to cultural separation because it
Free trade was first observed by Adam smith in 1776. “These artificial constraints to free trade are detrimental to a society” (Adam Smith). Until his book was published so many people had different skeptic about free trade. As a result of Adam Smith's book titled Wealth of Nations, free trade achieved an intellectual and rational status supreme to any other principle in the field of economics.

In my opinion, human being is living for eating. Most of people do not agree with that, because they think that people is eating for living, but food is ___ most important thing that we need to survive. In the 21th century, we can eat what we want because of the globalization. The Levin Institute demonstrated that “not only affect eating habits, but they also influence the traditions and mores in countries where they are located” p179 are depended on by restaurants.
