Young offender is a person who had been convicted or cautioned about a criminal offence. They can be either male or female. The criminal justice system may deal with the younger offenders different from the adult offenders. This will differ from country to country depending on the age of responsibility in that country (Why Do Youths Commit Crime, Teenage Crime Risk Factors.). In today's society a good amount of youths get caught in youth corrections. Two of the following roles that play a factor in youth corrections: Are what causes youth to get caught up in the Youth Criminal Justice system and what causes them to stay in it. Once a youth starts realizing they get can get fast money by doing these illegal actions they start becoming more use to just committing crimes to get paid. When this cycle happens its hard to break a youth out of it because they are accustom to making a good amount of money the fast way instead of finding a job that pays hourly and minimum wage. To them it may sound stupid or a downgrade because they are looking at how much money they make from stealing, selling drugs and doing other crimes and it is not equal to the amount they would be making if they found a job. With this happening its causing youth to stay in the criminal justice system because even they go to detention center for selling narcotics and other crimes there is a high chance when they come out and they want money it is going to result in them doing illegal activity to get money. Not having the proper guidance can result in youth staying in the criminal justice system because they don’t have anyone helping them get their life on the right track a lot of youth who are in this position have friends who are in the same situation they are in. Which results in no progress of them doing better and trying to get out of youth criminal justice system. The friends that they have only know in doing wrong so they get influenced by them to continue doing wrong because it is all they know to survive. If youth are also involved with gangs it will cause them to stay in them to stay in the youth criminal justice
