Your Major Decision The decision to go to college was an easy one, however choosing a major was more difficult. Being a person that has multiple interests in several different fields, deciding on a major has been a roller coaster ride of possibilities. After months of deliberation, I decided that majoring in Computer Science is the best choice for me. Computer science creates that perfect balance between my love for logic and creativity while establishing stability with projected employment increase up to 24% according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Throughout my life, I have changed what I wanted to do professionally almost annually. I was involved in multiple sports, clubs, and career programs through my high school, however those …show more content…
The two most important reasons computer science is the best fit for me are the balance between being logical and creative, and work life and family life. Computer code is extremely logical. If the code doesn’t make logical sense, then the program or web page will not work as intended. However, through the logic, one can create something new. Balancing work and family is a possibility working in the computer science field. Many technology companies allow their employees to work from home, giving me the freedom to work from anywhere. Computer science is a very broad field that can be applied into many other fields, for example the medical or engineering fields, which gives me the opportunity to work in other fields while still coding. In recent years, computer science majors have been in demand with the increase of technological advances and popularity. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, computer science jobs are expected to increase by 24% by 2026. After completing my initial research in the computer science field, I believe that majoring in computer science is the best option for me, however there is still more I need to
What I know is there are a large number of different fields computers offer. Almost everything we do or see has some sort of computer use around us all the time. Stores like to use computer software for registers and doors triggered by sensors. Most schools offer classes online and my daughter who is in the third grade does most of her school homework online. I know they rely on computers for aerospace jobs such as, exploring space and planets with robotics. I know that I see people on cell phone everywhere I go. That show we as a human race depend on the use of computers. What computer field should I go into and what steps do I need to take to reach my goals?
Right now I have a fairly accurate idea concerning what I want to do with my life. My love for computers has taken me a long way and I have a strong feeling that I will continue in the field of computer science. Yet, I am also aware that I may change my mind several times before I begin a career. College will introduce me to new and various things, and I will develop new interests from this exposure. The world of technology is changing rapidly and computers seem like the best way to go. When I combine that and my love for computers I am almost certain that the field of computer science is right for me.
Computer Programmers do many things for todays technology, this would be a great career choice.
A computer science major is a very difficult major if you have no passion or dive for it, and even when you do you can still have troubles. I have a great interest in this career and I made sure that this is something that I want to pursue. I am going to make sure that work for my computer science classes comes first and get help when I need it to make me successful. Also, as stated before, there is a great amount of completion for entry level positions. If anyone wants to get into this field, then they have to make sure that they make themselves stand out from the rest. I plan on making a website that has links to all of the projects that I have worked on so whoever is hiring can see examples of what I can
In our normal day to day lives, we as a both consumers and people, make a great deal of decisions. Some decisions come naturally to us, like, “should I turn off the TV before I leave the house?” or “should I stop at the red light?” However, other decisions require a little more thought process behind them. Understanding how people and/or consumers reach their decisions/choices is an area that has received a lot of attention. Theories have been generated to explain how people make decisions, and what types of factors influence decision making in the present and future.

Decision-making is an indispensable facet of modern management. It is a primary function of management. A manager's major job is rational decision-making. He takes hundreds of decisions consciously and subconsciously. Decision-making is the key part of the manager's activities. Decisions are important as they determine both management and organizational actions. A decision may be defined as “a course of action which is consciously chosen from among a set of alternatives to achieve a desired result.” It represents a well-balanced judgment and a commitment to action. It is justly supposed that the first important function of management is to get decisions on problems and spots.
It would be unreasonable if I claim that I had never questioned my choice, especially during the adaptation period into computer science as a rookie. I can still recall the desperation I felt in my first program designing class. I could not correctly run the simplest problems, like the existing program on my textbook. Computer science was a favorable choice for my undergraduate study with the logical thinking it represents, the close tie it has with math, and most importantly its applicability to various fields. Meanwhile, its requirement of a switch on thinking pattern and totally fresh body of knowledge was a challenge. If anyone told me at that time that I would one day label information technology as a powerful tool, and thus find the interaction of computer science and statistics intriguing, I would at most shrug and sneer.
Technology is a really high interest that I have, especially computers. I like helping people how things work, like how to work a specific app, like Microsoft Excel. I want to pass down my knowledge to other customers so they don't feel frustrated. That's why I want to major in computer applications, so I can help concerned and unwise customers with their computer problems.
